I loved every single bit of it... the weather, the beaches, the location, the people and specially the shopping! I shopped till i dropped at PERFUMERIA EUROPA... perfumes, cosmetics, make-up, aloe vera, sunglasses and fashion accesories!

Without doubt the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. It deserves 4 stars, the rooms are modern with a flat screen tv,huge shower and pool facing balcony. Staff are friendly and food was lovely. Short walk to the beach and the Jumbo centre with some of the best entertainment I have seen. I cannot rate this place enough. Book now.

I would agree with the positive comments from others. With regards to the noise, the building curves away from the Hard Rock cafe which is at one end (directly above our room!!). It was very loud but finishes at midnight promptly. It was not a problem for us but could be... more

Above and beyond!
I had heard that this place was going to be good, but it went above and beyond my expectations. The apartment was clean and well equiped, with a great balcony. All the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke great English. The cleaners were frantic, everything was spotless!!! The service in both the bar and snack bar by the pool was exceptional. The food and drink themselves were great and reasonably priced. The pool area was clean and felt private from the outside area, with plenty of sunbeds (thought, as per usual they were grabbed quite quickly). We were dubious about going to this place due to the location, but you do not notice the road at the front, the busy Yumbo centre at the back or the Hard Rock Cafe in the basement. The location proved great - only 10 mins from the beach and with the Yumbo centre behind, all the shops/bars/restaurants etc within a couple of minutes walk. There is a bus stop and taxi rank nearby and a shop and chemist also within easy reach. Theres a medical centre in the basement of the hotel also. All in all a great place to stay - I am definately returning here!
Sep 07 holidays.
Stayed here with my girlfriend Sep 07. Ideal position to explore local facilities. Close to beach, handy for local buses, in middle of most of the commercial centers and plenty of local shops, restaurants. Room was spotless with maid service 6 days out of 7. Very friendly reception staff always willing to give local advice if asked. Hard Rock right below building didn't cause us any problems although we weren't in bed before 1am anyway. If you fancy an early night then perhaps not ideal. My one and only complaint was that there is no aircon in the rooms so if you go middle of summer it could get quite hot and sticky. A fan can be hired from reception. I'd definitely recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a hassle free base in Playa Del Inglis.
Good location for everything
Just got back from staying at these lovely apartments, yes they are basic but to be honest very clean, good shower. Proper Kettle, Toaster, etc. They have obviously had a refurb recently due to the Hard Rock Cafe taking over part of the ground floor. Actually food at the Hard Rock was not that badly priced, cheeper than London. If you want to get to sleep before midnight, I suggest this is not the place for you as Hard Rock play music till they close and it does back onto the Yumbo centre. However it wasnt that bad. The location is fantasstic, hop skip and a jump and your in the yumbo centre and 5-10 mins walk to the beach. If your going exploring the Sand Dunes you need to go left out of the hotel to the roundabout and then left again and straight down to the bottom and exit through the Riu Palace. We used to stop off for breakfast at the "Moby Dick Restraunt" under the Tenessor Apartments, She is the most wonderful host and really looked after us. We ate there some evenings as well and well worth the home cooking. Also the chineese next door to Moby is excellent specially the set menu 3. - Soup, loads of starters, Duck, then main course all for less than £10 each. We also liked breakfast at the little cafe next to Buddies bar in the yumbo centre (grd floor) where Diamonds and the Trampolene is. Adonis bar (grd floor Yumbo) was nice for a hot chocolate after coming off the beach early evening before heading back for a shower and getting ready for the evening. The waiter had a strange impediment. it was kiss kiss.....you will know what I mean when you see him. Anyway getting back to tha apartments. As I said very clean, staff very helpfull, anything wrong was sorted straight away. Would definetly book there again, well we are going back next November.
Great place to stay!
I'd definitely recommend these apartments. The staff are really helpful and any problems we had were immediately attended to. I especially liked the layout of the apartments. They're in an oval shape so when you're on your balcony you're facing the pool and all the other balconys. It makes it look really pretty especially at night. Location wise - it is right next to the Yumbo centre which means a ten minute walk to the beach and about a ten minute walk to some of the better clubs. But it's nothing really and taxi's are really cheap if you're lazy! The only negative I have is that our room had a bit of a musky smell but regardless of that I'd definitely stay there again.
Excellent Hotel Would Stay Again
Hotel was excellent great value for money. Pool was great, food excellent and the hotel was very clean. Very central for all pubs/clubs/shops etc. Only 10 mins to beach. This hotel really was great amongst some of the horror stories you hear
just come back and booked again!
Just got bakand a week later booked to go next year for Gay pride. Arrived at the hotel made to feel really welcome. I have been to gran canaria before (about 5 times) but this the first in Playa del ingles. i have to say its one of the best holidays i have ever had. Yes its right next to the Yumbo centre and Yes its has a big Gay attraction and Yes there are alot of gay people there! So what we dont right reviews and say oh there are alot of straight people there! We all have a right to a holiday to soak up the sun and have a few to many please dont wright reviews on how " they (gay people) dont really bother you to much! Anyways backto the holiday. I do agree that the pool was a little small and the room could get warm but it was a small price to pay for the location. I didnt reckon much to the food there but as we were s/c didnt feel we had to eat there. The only thing that affected me was the noise at 5am, no not from people from the dust bin men! Lord thoses guys make a racket and as we were round the car park side we got woke up every morning. hasnt stopped me from booking again though. Rooms cleaned nearly every day and the maids were lovely. Every room had a pool view from what i could tell and the balconys felt secure and my partner has a fear of them and glad to see they were maintained and not the ones with bars on. The location is great the beach is a downhill walk might want to get a taxi back and if you gi for a meal go to Martels steaks house on the 1st floor their steak is to die for ! Becareful on the beach we went down for 4 hours and the waves were huge it was warm but as had a wind couldnt tell. That nite we both ended up in bed with sun stroke! and all efforts for a tan has now peeled off! so becarfull that canarian sun is leathul. oh and booked to go next year may 5th-11th gay pride !!! The Yumbo center was fab and QE2 bar is excellent.
In the centre for everything!
We stayed here for 1 week in September and was pleasantly surprised. We knew we were staying by the Yumbo centre so didn't really bother us. At the end of the day we are all on this planet together regardless of sexuality! We arrived at 3.00 in the morning so was glad of the sandwiches/fruit which was given to us. The rooms can get a bit hot as their is no air conditioning, but apart from that the rooms are clean and tidy - we were glad of the self catering option as we could keep our food/water cool. The food in the hotel was nice with plenty of selection, although we did eat out at different places later on in the week. The beach is situated about 10 minutes walk downhill but was taking us about 20 coming back especially in the heat! Along where the beach is there are bars/restaurants galore so you certainly won't go hungry. The only downside of the holiday were reps from a place called 'Anfi del mare' trying to get you to go and see there new resort, but when you get there they try to con you into buying a timeshare apartment. These people were everywhere so watch out!! But apart from that we had a really nice time and would probably return if we went back!
At the centre of everything
After arriving at the apartments by private taxi 15 minutes after we left the airport I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the front of the hotel looked. We checked in with no problems and were offered to go and have dinner as we were half board but we opted out instead going to our rooms. The apartments are brilliant- everything you could possibly ask for! Although we were half board our apartment was kitted with toasters, kettles, pots and pans etc etc,The bedroom did get a little hot during the night as there was no air conditioning. The shower room ( i'll call it that as it has no bath which other travellers complained about) is really modern and the shower is just fab- hot water at all times and a powerful shower! The pool area is really nice with a snack bar as well which you can buy drinks from which are really cheap compared to other bars. It tends to get very busy quickly at the pool in the morning so you need to be up early to get a good spot, apart from this perfect! The only thing that was dissapointing was the food! We tried out the breakfast the first morning and it wasn't the best. A lot of germans stay in this hotel so the catering is mainly for them! I mean us scottish don't really like ham, salami , cheese or cucumber for breakfast! The dinners were a bit better with different hot selections available although not much option if your veggie like me! We ate out once for breakfast and that was at the Red Cow across the road- absolutely brilliant! You can get a fry up well veggie in my case and tetley tea which was brilliant. We had dinner here one night as well and it was excellent- would deffo reccomend. Shenanigans downstairs is great for a pizza after a drunken night out as well which is open until half 2 in the monring! We also had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe which is right next door to the hotel and that was nice as well. Some people have previously said that it was a bit more expensive but we didn't think so. We had a starter and main course for 4 of us for 80 euros including drinks. Playa Del Ingles is made up of centres but if you're not into drag then avoid the Yumbo centre! We travelled in a group of 4 with 2 men that had there eyes opened when we went the first night. The centre is great for shopping during the day though. We tended to go the Kasbah centre or the Irish centre which were brill- geting there cost us 2 euros between 4 of us! Overall a brilliant holiday and would definately return :)
bueno aires apts gran can
I have been to playa des ingles before and enjoyed it. Having most of the bars/clubs/restaurants etc in centres is an odd idea but works. Just means you have to pick if you are having an irish or English night in advance! Highly recommend the Yumbo centre whether you are gay or straight. The cabaret in Cafe la belle makes for a good night out when you re a bit partied out :-) The Buenos Aires is a lovely place to stay, its clean, pool is great, the bar staff very friendly (free shots ahoy) and within easy walking distance of the yumbo . getting to the beach is easy as its all downhill, but you may want a taxi to get back, never easy with a lilo under your arm. The only downside is that the hotel is quite noisy at night, with being on top of the hard rock cafe and by a busy road.
great value, great location
Stayed at this hotel after seeing it many times over the years as we walked to the Yumbo centre which is situated next to the hotel. Rooms are VERY clean and comfortable but did tend to be a little warm with no air con. So many people have commented on the fact that there are Gay people sometimes staying at the hotel. My advice is to research where you are staying prior to booking, because this hotel is right next door to possibly the biggest GAY centre in Europe and therofore if people like me offend you then dont go there and complain, stay somewhere else. Pool area again is very clean but quite small considering the size of the hotel and, as others have already said, there is a custom of placing your towels on the sunloungers at 6am to book them. Staff on the whole were very friendly but older man on reception was rude at times.
