A nice hotel, in a scruffy part of town

We stayed at the Hotel Alameda for 2 nights in February 2006. It was in a strange place - the 8th floor of an office block! It was a nice hotel, but in a somewhat poor part of town - opposite the docks and with a sex shop on the adjoining street! That said the managment were pretty friendly and the room clean and tidy. It was quite handy getting to and from the sites in Malaga - I'd definitely recommend paying a visit to the Picasso museum. Great hotel

Good location, walking--distance to center. Staff very friendly. Rooms are modren and quite big. Ask for room facing Avda Aurora(front) since room at the back face big mall-parkinglot with lot of AC that makes quite a bit noise. Also recommend restaurant El trasiego en Santa Maria street near cathedral.
