Arrived 4/5/07 this was our 4th visit. No greeting or welcome pack.
First day:- beautiful. Pool area - closed. Snack bar, overlooking pool- no snacks?
Hotel totally full of Spanish Oap’s (not a problem, just an observation).
Asked why pool closed - told to use little pool instead. No poolside entertainment?
2nd day same.
3rd day contacted hotline (in Majorca) told by them that they were not aware of anyone staying at the hotel yet, but if I wanted to find out what was going on I should go to Talyot hotel (2x resorts away ) and contact a rep there.
I did and the rep (Rachel Hoff) was "super helpful" and calmed the situation, she also visited the hotel and the pool was opened the next day .
Unfortunately, by this time our silver wedding little break had been ruined. What a disaster!
What should have been a special occasion was a flop. Never had problems with Portland or this hotel before, still waiting for an explanation from them!
Please note- I have waited 2 weeks before writing this report, just to let the red mist thin out.

I arrived at the hotel late in the evening with my parents, brother and grandparents. We were quite late for our meal but we explained why and they let us in for our dinner. My dad was wearing shorts at the time and at Almirante Farrigut they like you to dress formally.
The food was gorgeous. There were foods that both adults and children would enjoy. My family had a family room. It was a nice room apart from the fact that mine and my brothers beds were joined in an L shape with Mickey Mouse covers on. I was 10 and he was 12 at the time. The bathroom was spotless. We had a double balcony which had a sea view.
The pools were great. There was a water feature in the main one. They were salt water because the water supplied for the pools was being pumped out of the sea.
There was a little rock over next to the hotel. Me and my brother enjoyed that as we got to jump off the cliffs into the water.
There was a bus stop next to the hotel which went to Cuitadella. It cost 1.25 euros for the bus ride for a family of 4 which is very reasonable.
The night life in Cala`n Forcat isn’t great but the hotel put on great shows in the evening. There are bars with sky so you can watch all the football matches.
Overall i think this was a very good holiday and I recommend it to families.

I returned from enjoying a week at the Almirante Farragut Hotel along with three other ladies on 30th Sept 2005 - Manchester to Mahon, Menorca. The flights to and from were all on time and the crews were very friendly.

Our hotel was superb. A 3* with rooms en suite. The food was excellent, buffets for breakfast and evening meal, the staff very friendly and there was plenty to keep you occupied each day. There is some form of entertainment each evening. The hotel is in a pretty setting, with two swimming pools, plus a small baby pool.
We hired a car for three days (78euros) which is quite adequate but there are tours available. Many beautiful, safe beaches and the weather was perfect - not too hot but still very warm to swim each day.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
" Absolutely fabulous hotel, located... "

Absolutely fabulous hotel, located just on tip of Cala n Forcat with fantastic views of the bay.

The beach itself is only small, but this is not a problem as area is fairly quiet anyway and beach is really peaceful.
The food in the hotel is really good.
The swimming pool areas are great, and the evening entertainment is smashing especially for families with children.

The bathroom had 2 sinks and a bath/shower and was spotlessly clean.
The food was lovely, always a good selection. If I had to find fault I'd say the cooked breakfasts aren't that great, but the other meals more than make up for that.
The pool area is lovely and clean with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, even if you go out in the afternoon.
A 10 minute walk away there are some shops, restaurants, trampolines and a water park. There is a bus every half hour from the hotel to Ciutadella which is good for shopping especially on market days.
The only thing I'd say about this hotel is don't go here the first 2 weeks of May as we did unless you like 98% of the other guests being Spanish pensioners. (They get a government funded holiday at this time and the hotel was packed with them).
This is not ideal if, like us, you have children but wasn't the fault of the hotel.
We would definitely go here again but later in the season next time!
