I've never used this site before but feel that i have to defend the castell, every time we have been to the castell we have had nothing but the best service, from the reception with Virginia and Veronica and all the other staff who are more like friends now.every single one goes one step more than they need to, to ensure that your holiday is the best, special mention to Zaida, juanmi epi and got to say paco in fact everyone who works there [ you too Alex ]best hotel we,ve ever stayed in,going back in a week for our 13th time and hope to keep going as long as we can, special place run by very genuine people, hasta pronto !!!!!

our holiday 2 weeks from 18th august we found a sewerage smell quiet prominent around the pool area also found the beer measure at poolside was shorter measure than the evening when glasses were used when mentioned to bradley tomson rep he said he had no knowledge of this but would enquire and let me know----never did its ok if you are inclusive but different situation if you pay hotel staff generally ok but two left a lot to be desired food at this hotel very good though not a hotel 1 would go back to ithink the tomson reps are on one long holiday without a care in the world or for anybody or anything

Having just returned from 11 nights at the Fiesta Castell
Playa i found the entertainment team and the staff very friendly. The accomodation was very clean and comfortable. The resort is very quite and the beach lovely. One downside is the 15 euros to hire 2 beds and a parasol so buy some to save some money.
The entertainment was good and the waiter and bar service excellent.
The pool area though is a bit cramped with the normal morans getting up at the crack of dawn to secure
their preferred position although i always got a bed
when going around the pool.
An excellent place to holiday with no screaming kids or
boisterous teenagers but the climb back up to the hotel
from the beach a little tiring if you miss the last courtesy bus.

This is our fourth visit to this hotel and I have to say it is just a fantastic experience.
The food is varied and is expertly cooked. Even champagne for breakfast!!!
The bedroom is spotless and cleaned every day.
The resort itself is very quiet - no noisey bars etc and the beach clean and water crystal blue.
Had a superb and would recommend to anyone.

i would not rate this hotal a thomson gold one, there are to many steep hills to climb up to it,ther are lifts in hotel but you have to wait ages for them i waited 10mins once gave up in end and walked to 5th floor after walking up from local shops it nearly killed me i wouldnt recommend this place for the old or people with disabilities.i found staff friendly and it was very clean.you need to hire a car there is nothing much in the resort its self but the rest of island is very beautifull.

Hotel staff provide excellent service and work very hard. The food is brilliant we were all inclusive and the choices were as good in the day as they were in the evening the omlettes are to die for.The entertainment was not up to the usual standard of a Thompson Gold Hotel we have experienced previously in other resorts mostly tribute bands .There became an issue with there not being enough sunbeds for everybody and reservations started from about 6am.If you can get the four poster sunbeds they are so comfy. The resort was very quiet only a couple of shops and a couple of bars if you like going for walks after your meal in an evening this is not the place for you.The bus service is good and punctual and only takes 30mins to get the capital Mahon where there are a lot more shops.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Fiesta Castell Playa. This is an adult only hotel which suited us. This hotel is not pretty however it has undergone some substantial improvements to the rooms, including a jacuzzi bath. The reception area is being improved during this winter. Food was good, with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area was very clean, and sunbeds were not ontop of one another (although this may be diffent during the high season) The entertainment was not always our cup of tea but the staff were very enthusiastic and included some excellent tribute acts. The hotel is on top of a hill, so if you are a regular visitor to the beach (which is lovely)you could be fitter by the end of your stay. I believe there is a shuttle bus to the town but we did not make use of this facility. The hotel also offers two all inclusive packages, which we did not take up, as we had a car and wanted to go out and about rather than staying within the hotel complex.
Everything considered we would recommend this hotel.

Just returned from 1 week at the Fiesta Hotel Castell Playa. First time at a Thomson Gold hotel and we loved it. We're a couple in our early 30s and were looking for a relaxing break and that's what we got. Resort itself is pretty but not much there, a couple of bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and a nice beach. Had terrible overpriced drinks at one of the bars on the 1st day, so opted to take the all-inclusive drinks package at the hotel. 14.95 euros p/person p/day gets you water, tea, local & national drinks between 1030-0000 but we opted for the deluxe package, 24.95 euros p/person p/day. This gave us water, soft drinks, a great choice of branded drinks, snacks at the pool and bar-b-q restaurant between 1-3 (food was great), crisps/peanuts, cakes from 5-6, bottles of wine with our dinner, room safe free-of-charge (normally 4 euros per day), bottled water in our room daily (there is a fridge and tea/coffee making) and we also got to choose from the pillow menu (very comfortable memory foam pillows, normally 6 euros p/pillow p/day - had to pay 25 euros p/pillow deposit but got this back on the last day along with the 10 euros deposit for the remote control and the 10 euros deposit for the Thomson beach towels, which you can change every couple of days). Satellite TV included news channels, BBC1 etc. Hotel itself is a little dated, but staff, food and cleanliness could not be faulted. Waiter service circulated the pool area throughout the day and night - special mention to Jesus and Paco who were terrific! Food was excellent and varied - something different to choose from every night. Be sure to try the carvery and show cooking. Thomson staff all worked incredibly hard - activities ran hourly from 11am and always started with some form of exercise - aquabox, aerobics, Tai Chi. This was the only activity we participated in, but the other activities were very popular too. Evening entertainment was pretty good, with the exception of the resident band who came on before and after the cabaret act. Their singing left a lot to be desired. During our stay we had an Elvis tribute act, ABBA Gold, Il Divo voices and 2 comedians/singers. The reps show was a bit hit-and-miss, but Jo Slow did well on her night. A local bus service runs from outside the hotel to neighbouring resorts and to Mahon, which was only 2.05 euros p/person each way and takes around 25 mins. Lots of little cobbled streets there with nice cafes and small shops. Overall, a great holday - would recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet week, who doesn't mind hills/steps if they want to go for a walk as the hotel is at the top of a hill.

We returned from our holiday having had a wonderful, relaxing time. We are a couple in our late 30s and found the hotel to be an ideal base from which to hire a car and enjoy this picturesque island. The rooms were fairly basic but extremely clean, with satellite TV. The food was quite amazing, considering the classification of the hotel; themed nights with chefs making a real effort. As with these types of hotels, they are not conducive to a romantic, "take your time" type of evening meal, but as far as quality of food and excellent value, you cannot beat it. The staff were very friendly, especially Jesus. The entertainment was good - if you like that sort of thing; it started at 11 every morning and went on almost all day. We didn't take part but many did and seemed to enjoy it. The evening entertainment seemed a bit tacky on some evenings but the comedian and Il Divo tribute group were pretty good. The Thomson Entertainment Reps worked extremely hard to try to please. The pool area was nice but it was rather crowded. The resort is reasonably quiet but we enjoyed the Irish Bar only a two minute walk away from the hotel - this was lively and seemed to try hard in relation to entertainment and ambience. The bar within the hotel was rather like Blackpool illuminations; it was so brightly lit, it almost gave me a headache; this spoiled what could have been a pleasant bar area. All in all, we would go back and would recommend this hotel; it offers relaxation, value for money and entertainment, if desired. It is an excellent location from which to explore and enjoy this beautiful Balearic island.

Overall a good holiday. Hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly. Food was very good. If you like puddings you will love it. Pool very clean and and entertainment was good.
The local duo band had a guy who sang worse than me, which says something.
The price for a pint of either beer or lemon was 3.5 euros (1.2 euros to pound). I would advise you to get a wristband as soon as you arrive at 14 euros per person per day. They take it off you when you checkout at 12 o'clock. You pay for this on a weekly basis.
To book an extension to your room was 43 euros which we could not get, so was given a courtsey room to get changed in (15mins per COUPLE).
To get to the beach you need to be fit as you have to go down a steep hill. However, the beach is great. Not much going on in the resort .
Would deifintly go back again for a quiet holiday (10 days max).
