The general complaint is this:
• We checked in to the hotel. On walking to our rooms the first very noticeable thing to hit our senses was the smell. I truthfully tell you it was like standing in an Indian Restaurant in the room someone would be supposed to sleep in
• Immediately on entering the rooms the type of furniture, and the condition of the furniture was something you might see in a hostel
• The bathroom photo speaks for its self - where would you put your knees if you needed to use it, and how could anyone use something so disgusting.
• The photo of the balcony speaks for itself – the disgusting mould that you can see for yourself is representative of the overall condition of the hotel. The view was so fantastic, a rock less than a foot away
• The photo of the kitchenette? Speaks for itself, dirty, dank, smelly, unwashed kitchen tools, dirty fridge.
• The plastic furniture speaks for itself – a 4* hotel with plastic furniture, never in all my travels have I seen this
• The telephone did not work – reception argued it did, despite Laura being native Spanish, they would not even sent someone to investigate
• The television did not work – same as above
• The internet connection did not work –same as above
• We were offered a disabled room which was in a worse state that the original rooms offered us
• The hotel staff that initially was so nice became rude and very unhelpful.
I guess if I was in my teens and wanted to spend a couple of weeks drinking and taking sun the hotel would not much matter. However, this was nowhere near the photographs that we were shown, it was completely falsely sole to us.
I expect immediately a full refund for the hotel, and further some gesture for the hotel that we ended up staying in that cost 1,600.00. There are no conditions where I would accept anything less.
It is a pure disgrace that an Irish holiday maker, paying such a huge amount of money for a 3 night stay in a disgusting hotel, is not immediately supported by the company in which the holiday was booked even though that company agreed that the conditions were dreadful, and who immediately contacted their supplier. In an economy where value for money and a decent service is paramount to the traveller, I think that USIT should immediately put right the situation. To me the traveller it does not matter who owns or operates the hotel, it came very highly recommended by USIT.
