We used the train service for a day trip to Barcelona that is well worth doing. The train is only about 30 m and is fully air-conditioned. Barcelona city has fantastic sites although the beach had a lot of building work going on. The best seafood we have ever tasted was served in the Salamanca restaurant on the beach promenade. Well worth a visit and the staff here are lively and outgoing.
When I return to Sitges I shall make sure I have a few Spanish phrases under my belt. I naively I expected the waiting staff to understand me and we experienced some difficulties as many do not speak good English.
With a great climate and lots to do Sitges is definitely some worth a visit, close enough to Barcelona if you want to party and see sites, but very chilled during the day when you want to relax.
