When we arrived at the hotel, we were initially impressed by the efficiency of the reception staff-there was quite a queue & they cleared it quickly, smiling and helpful all the time. Our room was on the 2nd floor, we opted for the lift as we had cases-the lift wouldn't... more

The hotel is on a good location, right on the beach and was close to anything you needed. The food was brilliant, so much choice pretty much catered for every type of eater, and the staff was great. I think they did keep the rooms clean as I had the cleaners at my room like... more

Ok, not great
Returned August 06th from this hotel and we had a good time, but not a special one. The hotel seems fairly dated and theres not a lot going on there. Food is ok if a little sameish after the first week. Location is great for the beach which is a big plus. Pool area was ok just a little small. Would advise anyone staying to upgrade to all inclusive drinks as this will save you money.
Nice, but dim.
Just arrived back from Fiesta Algarb today, having spent 10 days there with Portland Direct. Upon arrival we were checked in very fast and were in our room, do not buy any sweets from the reception desk as they are double the price compared to the Spar shop just across the road. We were allocated directly opposite the outside entertainment area facing the pool and sea-view, very nice views with the Algarbs Palm Tree grounds, planes fly over you very low but more interesting to see then being a small noise problem. The Room was as you would expect with nothing out of the ordinary, air conditioned also with a central fan above the bed. Television as always had just one English Channel (that being BBC News!) – furnishings around the hotel were as old as we are, very out-dated. After a small nap we ventured out onto the strip, or more so the ‘road’ of Playa D’en Bossa. It was surprising to find how little there actually was, quite a few cocktail bars and a few restaurants, probably our favourite was the DaiSou snackbar/restaurant which was just a few minutes down the road from Fiesta Algarb. The waiter is very nice and the food is just as good. But other then these few restaurants and the famous Club Space which was based at the end of the road there really was very little. Therefore after just two or maybe three days boredom sunk in, we really needed to see a rep and get some information on what else to do. Thankfully when we were advised by the Thomson rep about the Playa Figueretas resort (15-20mins walk from Playa D’en Bossa), we found lots of seafront restaurants which was pleasing to see. We firstly went to Marco Restaurant (Italian, and the last restaurant on the strip which is sticking out onto the shore) – a very nice restaurant. However be warned that after roughly 9pm it tends to get extremely busy, so much so that we were made to wait for a table one night and gave up waiting after 20 minutes. Waiters do their best in running around working hard, and they do a good professional friendly job, however they definitely need one or perhaps two extra waiters to help. Other nights spent in Playa Figueretas were at the PrinicipE restaurant (another Italian) – again very nice Restaurant with good service and food. And lastly we ate at the Soleado (next to Marco restaurant) which was very posh! Dinners were presented as you would expect in London Soho, very art deco but very tasty too. Deserts were a whopping 7 Euros each, however we would highly recommend their Chocolate cake with Ice Cream – very nice food with a limited menu (as it’s so specialist) but highly worth dining here. Tables are also situated just below Marco restaurant ontop of the seashore. The only tour we did with Thomson was Spirit of Ibiza, a good tour that brings you to San Antonio, Santa Eulalia, and Portinatx. However we did find it a little boring when being informed about the growth of flowers and beans etc. Informative and perhaps moreso interesting to other people, nice day out though and worthwhile still. Other tours we arranged ourselves as it was easier and cheaper, we went to the Hippy Market, which is every Wednesday in Eastern Ibiza. We chose the Capitan Hook boat, a great choice! The crews on board were very nice and helpful; they love their Soul music blasting out on-board along with some Bob Marley. The Hippy Market was very busy, would be advisable to watch your belongings as everyone walks up and down closely together. Some nice purchases can be made here. And our last tour was again using Capitan Hook who on a daily basis (other then Wednesday) travel to Formentura based just off of Ibiza. Very beautiful Island, you can either stop at the Beach or carry onto the Harbour. We chose the Harbour as the Beach has very little cover, and we wanted a break from the sun, especially as it is an intense sun as warned by the boat crew. Having travelled to the Harbour stop, we found very little to do with the five hours we had to use until we had to return to the boat! You can hire a scooter and travel round the island, but you must have you Drivers License with you in order to do so. Alternatively you can hire a bicycle, but as mentioned the temperature was scorching at the time for us to be riding around. Once we had returned from Formentura, later that evening we soon noticed how hot it was when we did get burnt slightly, we were not even on the beach so do top up your sun block on this island! The hotel itself was nice; cleaners did a good job, however the entertainment was absolutely rubbish, however the hotel entertainment staff were very enthusiastic and friendly. However it may well be entertaining to a family, and between 23:30 and midnight kids had a half-hour disco. Which was repetitive each night, same set of songs with same moves, for the kids though a nice touch. Our real complaint was noise, after midnight when all music was stopped; you can still hear people outside drinking and plastic chairs being scraped along the floor as hotel staff pack them away. What made it worse was our balcony door had a gap, which would not close properly, some sleepless nights if you wanted to sleep before 1am. We made relevant comments in the hotel suggestion/review form, on check-out staff must have read it as they were not very helpful. Never said a word to us, and forgot to give our passports back, also be warned that you do not receive any deposit back if you hire out the security safe in the room. On the whole, it was a very nice holiday, the hotel if situated in Playa Figueretas or Santa Eulalia would be near perfect – considering the noise problem we experienced. We would not return to the Fiesta Algarb.
well worth it
first time to ibiza went to this hotel all reviews are accurate the hotel and food were lovely as were the staff- only down side was the first week not many english guest and seemed to be a lot of litter in the sea although they did clear the beach every night some had blown into the sea, plastic bags, cups etc but this did not spoil anything, our children are all good swimmers but anyone with smaller or less able children should be aware that the pool is very deep shallow end 1 meter but very quickly going to 2m then 3 at the deep end also there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so take a travel kettle, use the internet cafe up the road for phone calls -much cheaper than phone booth- the aqua park is ok but not really worth a visit mainly 4 slides one dinghy slide(inside a tunnel thing) cost us 57 euros for the day the two older kids left after 2 hours only the younger(age10) wanted to stay but all in all we had a brill time and would def go back- even the 16 yr old wanted to go back as there was plenty going on for him to do and the reps worked hard to make sure they all had fun
real value for money
Stayed in this top hotel from may 21st -june 4th.Hotel is well presented with clean rooms, with air con and great sea views.food is superb with plenty of choice and staff were friendly and helpful.all iclusive drinks option was well worth the money-roughly £10.00 a day per adult.Evening entertainment was a bit dodgy at times but some shows were good.overall you cant go wrong with fiesta hotels but if you can afford that bit extra go for fiesta palm beach (10 min down road) but either way you should come home happy....
This place is a retirement community!!
We went to Ibiza at the end of May, and decided to stay at the Algarb after reading the review on this website. I don't know what the average age of the people writing these reviews are, but if you are anywhere under the age of 45, you might want to reconsider staying at this hotel. When we walked in, we thought we entered the wrong hotel and found our ways into a retirement home..it even smelled like one. The women that checked us in could not find our reservation and then proceeded to take about 1/2 hour to check us in, at that point, wanting to keep our passports in the reception's possession for our entire stay in plain view of all visitors and guests to take, as the night staff was sleeping when we came home!! The room we were given was the size of a bathroom, with a view of the "bingo room"(I'm not kidding), and the noise was horrendous! I don't know what was above us, but starting at 6am, it sounded like they were playin musical chairs above us. I would NEVER stay at this hotel again, even if you PAID me!! I strongly urge younger travelers(and we are in our 30's) to pass right by this place.
a nice hotel in a fantastic location
Last summer I didn't have a lot of money, so I went to a travel agency and I find an all inclusive roulette form with an italian tour operator. When I arrived at The Algarb I was surprised!!!! a very nice hotel in a good location, in front of the Sea, a good structure... the single room and the bathroom were very confortable and clean. The continental food was ok... I eat and drunk a lot. the staff of the hotel very kind and funny I knew a lot of people and I spend a marvelleus and fantastic week... If in the future I will come back to Ibiza I'll stay there
love it

I LOVE IT!
I've been going to the hotel since a baby with my family, we returned every year to enjoy the brilliant atmosphere! Next year I am returning but this time as a couple with my boyfriend! I hope to take my children there in the future as its a truly great place for families and is SO MUCH FUN!
Best Hotel for the price range in Playa D'en Bossa
Stayed here in Sept 2003 and Sept 2004 and enjoyed it both times - the food is the best 3 star food I have had in Spain on both visits (and I have been to countless 3* hotels) - the grounds are spacious and being on the beach is superb - near the airport but surprisingly minimal interference - not the best for young children - seems best suited to couples of all ages - clientele mix of British, Italian, German, French and Spanish in the main and in fairly equal amounts. Dining room has a super view of the bay etc but would do better if they kept the outside of the windows nearest the sea cleaner to enjoy this more - best 3* hotel in Playa D'en Bossa by a long way - deserves its high rating - would go again for a third time so that says it all I guess. All inclusive drinks a good idea if you stay around the hotel alot and enjoy a tipple - if not it probably does not work out worth the extra if you tour about and go out on evenings elsewhere. One minor gripe is that some of the reception staff do come across as just a little bit surly but that seems to be the norm in quite alot of hotels in Spain.. but how long do you spend at reception anyway !!
Fantastic Holiday
A little aprehensive in booking this holiday as travelling alone with my son and never having stayed at a Fiesta Hotel or Ibiza before, was a little bit nervous. Hotel was absolutely terrific, cleanliness, food and service all excellent. Purchased food and drink all inclusive bands upon arrival which proved extremely cost effective. Entertainment also superb - my 11 year old thoroughly enjoyed partaking in all games, dances etc. Will definately be returning next year. Would recommend it to everyone.
