Mar Y Playa Apartments

Me and my boyfriend have just got back from an excellent holiday to the Mar Y Playa apartments. We had a room on the third floor looking out over the sea. The rooms were very nice with air con but the bedroom was a little bit tight and we kept banging our legs on the bed ends. The staff were very helpfull and there were plenty of sunbeds to choose from. However make sure you get the ones at the front as they get the sun the longest. we stayed at these apartments 1st July - 11th July the apartment were spotlessly clean (we stayed in the block away from the main building - no sea view) the staff were very helpful with our queries the beach was great, with a good selection of bars and restuarants(Haddocks was very good) nearby and the area is also very quiet but within walking distance of the old town the cost was very reasonable, we would recomend these apartments and are looking forward to going back

Booked this stay through freedomdirect.co.uk. Were a little wary with it being so cheap, but was amazed with how much we got for our money! The apartment we stayed in (202) was beautiful, looked like it had never been stayed in, so very clean, amazing sea and beach view, air conditioning, lovely bathroom, massive balcony. really couldn't have hoped for more. Have stayed here twice now (most recently in July 2007). Nice, clean hotel with good access to :- Ibiza Town - 15 mins (along fairly busy road) Marina - 20 mins Playa d'en Bossa - 20 mins The winning thing for me, is when my girlfriend is lying in and then taking hours to get ready (!), you have Figueratas beach 2 mins walk away, which is a clean, friendly beach with good swimming and a good set of restaurants and bars. me and my hubby arrived at the mar y playa 2 at 2am in the morning. we were starving and the night manager was v helpfull and directed us to a night cafe 5 mins walk away. fab start and it stayed that way all the holiday. yes lots of gay people but so what.we spoke to lots of people, the spanish staff ,dutch people belgium people and the gay guys .what im trying to say is we had a wonderfull time and are going back in september.

Just got back from Ibiza and te Mar Y Playa. Wow what a place! I read the reviews and was a bit worried,i didn't need to be. The room (101) was spotless and kept that way all holiday by the maids. Towels were changed daily. The room had been refurbished and had brand new light oak units.The balcony had a sea view. It had airconditioning and when you arrive you are given two electronic keys one one which we left in the room power slot so left it on all week which was a relief after the heat of the day. When we first got there we had a basic room but it was sea view.The room was not nice it was dark and had no air- con which was bad.The shower didnt work and i had to request on a couple occations that we should be moved.They did move us and this time it was'nt to any room but the penthouse suite which came with air-con and a massive terrace which stretched all the way around the top floor we could'nt complain after that it was beautiful ending to a bad start.

not a very pleasant experience staying at the mar y playa. The apartments were dirty-poorley equipt and very dated. The balconey overlooked mar y playa2. You could almost see what they were eating. You could see other things too. how do you explain to a young son why 2 men are kissing on the balconey? I suppose you get that in a gay resort-they just dont tell you that at the time of booking. FIGUERITAS.....forget it MAR Y PLAYA .....dont waste your money (unless your gay) Nothing possitive to say about the resort or apartments.

Their website states that rooms are air conditioned and the place has gym facilities. Well there are three standards of room; refurbished with sea views and no air con. awaiting refurbishment with sea views and no air conditioning and completely new with air conditioning but looking over the street behind. The Gym facilities are a private gym up the road which you have to pay for and nothing to do with the Apartments. We stayed here in Sept last year and were truly dissapointed with the room. It was very very basic and the sofa had a great big hole in the centre of it. The furniture was old and very dirty with the kitchen much the same, rusty cutlery is not really my thing. We had a side view of the harbour which was ok but the May Y Playa II was only about 25 feet away and you dont half feel overlooked. Staff were increadably nice and the cleaner was a ray of sunshine.
