myself ,husband and 3 children booked for 2 weeks at clumber mar but only stayed for 1 week ,it was terrible ,!! the rooms were very basic could of been cleaner ,the food was repeated so often ,i have never been to a hotel where the entertainment was so bad we ended up having dinner and then going out and spending money we should not of had to do because we were all inclusive. you had to queue for half an hour every morning just to get a sunbed ,if you did stay in hotel at night once 12.00 comes ligts go off and you are told to leave ,thats it until breakfast you cannot get any soft drinks or even water, the alcohol was watered down which i find very insulting we have paid for this !!!! can picafort is gorgeous ! But if you have booked i would urge you to try and change it,we were so fed up we transfered to a different hotel on the second week which was amazing!! It cost us to do this but the second week was fantastic.

Have just returned from a weeks holiday at Clumba Mar with my parents and my 10 year old son. We had a great holiday and could not really fault the hotel. Staff friendly, especially Pedro on reception. We were lucky as our rooms were on the 5th floor in an area that would appear to have just been refurbished. Our rooms also had adjoining doors which was handy. Rooms adequate size and our balcony's had great views. Cleanliness in the hotel was of a high standard and maid service daily. Food was good altough not a lot of variety, this was fine for just a week but think could be a bit fed up with it if there for 2 weeks. Getting sun beds was not really a problem, but did end up putting towels down when the pools opened! Both the pool at the hotel and the one across the road were good and very clean at all times. Plenty entertainment for the kids. Entertaiment at night was mixed, stayed down for the music quiz and The Blues Brothers! Went to the bingo every night and on the last night son won e120! The location of the hotel was ideal for both shops and the beach which were both about 2 minutes walk away. We had a great time and would definately visit again and recommend to anyone.
- Advice: Lovely place, streets and beach clean.

We have just arrived home 3 hrs ago from our first family holiday there was me stephen 28 siobhan 20 and little baby emma who is almost 3. we booked all inclusive as we where informed it was a great family hotel with outstanding reviews it did cost £1,850 pound all in a price im sure you will agree by reading this is way over priced.lets start from the begining we arrived at the hotel at 5am checked in made our way up to go to sleep to have been given bunk beds instead of a cot for emma reception didnt appologise but did say they would take the bunk beds away tomo and replace it with the cot that we double checked with thomsons in glasgow that we would get with no hassle. The next day to our shock they had kept the bunk beds in with our double bed and a cot well as the rooms are very small we couldnt understand why you would do this? reception explained we would have to just live with it as there is nowhere to put the cot so i had argue with the manager to take it away or i will put the bunk beds in the corridor so in there eyes they moved us and up graded us to a better room which to our horror was directly above the entertainment that ends at 12 every night and is very very noisey so if you are going try to avoid 142 that we where in or any numbers in that area.the food was very basic and every day the standards got worse the childrens meals was always hard chicken nuggets that was no way chicken and chips and the desserts on the first few days was very nice ice cream but suddenly changed to cheap individual ice creams that the kids get in the day time.again if you have already booked TAKE YOUR OWN PINT GLASS OR WINE GLASS all you get in this hotel is vert small cheap plastic cups. the entertainment is shockingly bad when they decided to do something but when they did it was mostly in german or spanish over the 14 days there was 3 very bad acts that should have retired at 65.the kids club is again very poor if your not german or spanish again you will hear about bullying going on so beware and 9 out of 10 times they will send your child away as they dont speak english to interact with them we where lucky as emma was to young but the reason we are angry and bringing this to your attention is when we sayed that the play area was locked everyday they said its nothing to do with thomsons its the hotel that supplys it and they word it wisely in the broture to pass the buck.if you like the beach it is 2 minutes away which is great but that is the only good point if you have small kids like us the transfer took 2 hrs so take a mini dvd or toys for them,im sorry if you read this and think oh no ive already booked as they say its what you make of your holiday but we wish we had went anywhere else than here to enjoy our 2 first family holiday......Go to the pirate show!!! ...ita a little expensive but the show is worth it...but dont let them fool u into taking the VIP seats as they are just as close to the stage as the normal seats....if u do not like the breakfast in hotel go to wotsits place just down by the beach.

Arrived at this hotel 12 o'clock at night with my daughter who is special needs and was sick on the bus on the way there. Tired and exhausted, we were told we couldm't have our room until tomorrow morning! They arranged for us to stay at a small hotel around the corner! I couldn't believe it, how can they do this when you have booked saturday to saturday! What with my daughter being sick all night it was 4 am before we got to bed, only to be woken next day by an angry spanish woman telling us we had to be out of the room NOW as it was gone 12 noon! My daughter could barely walk as she was so ill, but they got us a taxi to the Clumbs Mar. When we finally got to our room it had a double bed and bunk beds, not a twin room like we booked. As the double bed was nearer the bathroom I put my daughter in there and tried to sleep in the bottom bunk, but banged my head every time I sat up, so spent the week sleeping in the double bed with my daughter. I should have asked for another room but my daughter was too ill and I was too tired. I rename the hotel the San Quentin due to the sound of doors banging, shouting, kids running up and down that we could hear all night! We were half board but most of the guests were all inclusive. We didn't eat much at the hotel, I am vegetarian and apart from salad there wasn't much choice for me and my daughter wouldn't eat anything from the buffet...kids tend to like chips, burgers, nuggets etc. nothing there she liked. We ate at the Oasis bar at the end of the road, food there was lovelly! Will not stay in an all-inclusive hotel again in Europe, full of kids running riot while the parents sit in the bar all week!

Stayed for the 1st time in this hotel from May 12th- May 26th with my hubby and two friends, we are always apprehensive when trying new hotels for the first time, plus this holiday was also the first one abroad that we have been on with friends as we usually travel on our own, The welcome we received at the reception desk upon arrival from Pedro the manager was most welcoming. After having our wrist bands fitted as we were staying all inclusive, the four of us headed off across the road to the cafe bar for a refreshing drink and some food. Everything everywhere was spotlessly clean in the hotel plus our lovely bedroom that also overlooked the pool. The only down side that we came across while there was there was some sort of playing card competition going on with the german people which was fine except they took over nearly all the best seating even the outside smoking areas. Hubby and I dont smoke but our friends did so we sat outside with them on a night, but because of the card games going off those people did,nt want to hear the music coming from the concert room and kept closing the door so some of the guests were pretty angry about it as they wanted to listen to the music and rightly so it was there holiday too. The hotel ought to have allocated somewhere for them to play where they could all be together and not spoil other peoples holiday after all they had paid good money to stay there as well. The food was very good with a large choice but it was very repetative and after a fortnight I was pleased to get back home to some egg & chips. The puddings were nearly always the same too but occasionally something different would be there to choose but not often. Theres quite few trips that go from the hotel but its a lot lot cheaper to be a bit adventurous and catch a service bus, we went to quite a few places while staying at the Clumba Mar by ordinary bus saving ourselves a tiny fortune. We would certainly go back for another holiday if we could afford to. I hope this has helped you decide on this hotel.

Me and my friend wanted to book a last minute deal somewhere where it would be warm, have a good atmosphere but not known for it's trouble and overcrowding clubs/bars. We went through many operators and eventually decided on Thomas Cook. We booked 3weeks before our holiday and had no idea or knowledge of the place we were going to. However, we were vey pleased with our choice. It was warm and welcoming Hotel and area with a good night life, and also a very good family atmosphere. The Hotel staff were incredible, they could not do enough to help you and were also very sociable. Our room was pleasent and clean (unlike many other Hotels I have been to)! I would give Clumba Mar an 11 if possible! We met a group of people out there who informed us this was their third Summer in a row they had returned to this Hotel. Point Proven!!! I am returning this Summer!

I booked the Clumbamar through lowcostbeds.co.uk and to summarise, I'd go back to the hotel tomorrow as it was great but WOULD NEVER USE LOWCOSTBEDS.CO.UK again!! After charging my credit card for my easyjet flights (which was agreed/authorised), I was then charged the same amount again, even though the only other payment that 'should' have been taken was £20 (£5 per person accommodation deposit as per a current website promotion). When I called lowcostbeds to highlight the error and ask for the overcharge to be refunded, I was told, I was mistaken and that the amount charged was correct because the sales person had confirmed this to be an accommodation deposit. I knew this was a lie so asked them to check the phonecall recording as I knew I'd had the £5 per person deposit amount confirmed and that NO OTHER transaction was mentioned - never mind one that was conveniently the exact same amount as the flight transaction already made! Amazingly, lowcostbeds then said that they had listened to the call and that this confirmed what their sales person had said - which was yet another lie and the last straw for me. After being refused a copy of the phonecall (they said it could no longer be located - ummmm how convenient!!!), I had to spend the next 2 months writing e-mails, making phone calls to prove it was lowcostbeds who were in the wrong - not just for the initial unauthorised credit card transaction but for all the hasstle and terrible customer service they'd provided since. Eventually I got my money back but with no apology or explannation. In the words of Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman) - "Big mistake, huge". I book 2-3 holidays a year and lowcostbeds will never get my custom again, or that of my friends/family.......
So, if you book your holiday through lowcostbeds, be warned that even if you reiterate 3 times the amounts to be charged, they may charge more and then just lie about what was agreed afterwards as the phone call may not be retrievable to prove your case......
Now, back to the ClumbaMar.
Great spacious room with pool + distant sea view - 2 single beds + bunks for the kids. Air conditioning was great and most welcome. Rooms are basic with 80s style pine furniture but kept immaculately clean, as is the whole hotel! The safety bar on our upper bunk bed fell off on our first day but after a visit to reception, this was replaced (properly so it was safe) within an hour! There wasn't much wardrobe space but the posts on the bunkbeds came in handy for hanging things from.
The hotel walkways are carpeted so noise is limited when you're in bed and the hotel has a very strict 'no noise after midnight' rule which is always upheld by the staff (the bar and outside lights are simply turned off so you have no choice but to vacate!). This was great for us as we have 2 young children and although we enjoyed the entertainment in the evening, midnight was more than late enough for our kids so we simply took them to bed and sat on our balcony if we wanted to continue our evening.
Evening entertainment was a bit boring on some evenings but good on others - as long as you're not bothered about EVERYTHING finishing at midnight, you'll have a good time. Importantly to us, the entertainment areas were civilised but still a great laugh - i.e everyone had a great time and had plenty to drink because there was never any queing needed at the bar. The weekly raffle was a good idea as it gives the bar staff their tips - so buy a ticket/row of tickets if you go. The only criticism I have of the bar is that the staff didn't know how to make any cocktails and these were not generally available at any time. We got around this though by scrounging a cocktail list from a beachfront bar, taking it to the hotel and showing the waiters how to make everything......
The kids club was massive, air conditioned and great. It's downstairs, off the main reception and by the looks of it, the whole area used to be a nightclub hense the vast space! There were no 'shift' times for the childrent to attend (unlike when we've travelled with Thomson) so our children could attend when ever they liked.
The main pools were great by the hotel but the other cloverleaf shaped pool acrross the road was stunning (this is next to the snack bar which was also lovely as ALL snacks were cooked to order and the bar itself plus seating areas were constantly immaculate! The newer pools (across the road) don't have vast sunbathing areas which is lovely as you don't get row after row of beds which block the view of the pool. At worst, we had two rows of beds but even then, this was only where the space allowed by the bar/seating areas or on the two sun terraces.
We've been to All Inclusive hotels for over ten years now (usually twice a year) and although the food selection at this hotel wasn't as varied as at other hotels we've been to, this is probably becuase the hotel itself is smaller by comparison. The smaller size is something we liked though as it made the hotel more friendly and less like a Butlins holiday park!
The breakfasts were great (eggs cooked to perfection - no 'snotty/uncooked' yolks!!). Lunch could be taken at the snack bar, smaller restaurant by the main pool or the main restaurant and dinner was just in the main restaurant. We had parma ham and melon one evening, prawns, paella another and nobody in our party struggled to find food they liked. Kids even had various flavour slush puppies at the bar - which actually were great for making cocktails for the adults!!
If you want a clean hotel, friendly hotel then I'd recommend this for you. It's ideal for families with young children due to the strict 'noise' rule. Also, we were able to get sunbeds all day (although we were told that in 2007, guests were queing at stupid o'clock for beds so it's obviously dependant on how 'anal' people are with regards to reserving beds - you know how it works - once one does it, they all do it......)
I nearly forgot, the location is excellent - just a 200yd walk to the beautiful C'an Picafort beach (similar to Alcudia but just smaller). The whole resort has a strict 'no yobbish' behaviour rule that is upheld in the evenings (loads of police about in the tourist areas - but never any trouble). I don't think we saw one pair of union jack shorts during our whole 2 week trip!!! The main nighclubs are all underground so there is no noise in the resort at all and the streets are very pretty with stalls and pedestrianised areas. The beach front bars are lovely and always full.
Overall, a great holiday and we're looking to book again for 2008!

went to the clumba mar in may after the thomson shop recomended it. when we got there we were very disapointed, some of the staff were very rude and most of them couldn't speak a word of english. the food was absolutely awful it made three of us ill for 3 days and the hotel staff blamed it on a so called bug that was going round. the thompson rep was some young lad that didn't have a clue what he was doing, he seemed more interested in getting drunk and smoking. he also lied to us, saying that he was going to move us hotels and basically he just fobbed us off all holiday. the snacks from across the road which i wouldn't feed to my dog was basically chicken paste and tuna paste sandwhiches, also you wasnt allowed any food in the hotel apart from at set meal times. there is no t.v/ hairdryers/radios in the rooms. the entertainment was crap, basically there wasn't any for the first eight days, and then finally when they did put some on it wasn't up to much. everbody in the hotel complained and was demanding some money back, which they did give us but it was only £70 which was nowhere near enough. c'an picafort is a lovely place and i'd recomend it to enyone but PLEASE TRUST ME AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I have just returned from our weeks holiday at the Clumba Mar and thought we'd leave our comments about it.
Firstly the refurbished sections of the hotel are lovely. We also didn't meet one rude member of staff. The blonde girl on reception was very friendly and helpful. Always had a smile on her face. The hotel was also very clean all over.
Our rep wasn't very good in my opinion. We booked a trip to Marineland & Aqualand and on the day, the guide on the coach took us to Western Park instead of Aqualand which I wasn't very happy with. I had researched Western Park before the holiday and didn't want to go to that one, which is why we booked the Marineland/Aqualand trip. She told us we didn't go to Aqualand as it was out of season and closed which she said our rep should of told us. If we had known that, we wouldn't of booked it and would of booked to just go to Marineland instead saving us money.
Also I thought the food wasn't up to much either. Lunch was awful. Not much choice at all and food was pretty much always cold to lukewarm! When I told the rep about this he just said there wasn't much he could do about it as that's the way the spanish like it. Well i'm not spanish, i'm on holiday and they should be catering for their guests! There are also alot of germans there but you get that alot of hotels you go to but they were rather rude.
The location itself is fantastic. Couple of minutes walk from the beach and shops if that. Loads of shops and restaurants/bars nearby so was very happy with that. The pool over the road was the best one to be honest even though doesn't get sun till later in the day so the water can be rather cold. Never had a problem getting a sunbed though.
We will be writing to Thomson of our complaints so shall see what happens with that. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, however I would say go to C'an Picafort just go to a different hotel.

For many years I have avoided tour operator travel and chosen to make my holiday arrangements myself. This year my mother-in-law wanted to treat the family and take them away, she chose the above Hotel. I can only describe the Hotel at a zoo due to guests who behave like animals. Children are allowed to run absolutly riot throughtout the hotel without being supervised by thier parents, the behavour and manners appalling, the parents of these children have quite clearly chosen an all inclusive holidays which allows them to just drink alchohol from sunrise until midnight. (I'm not surprised the staff close the bar at 12, otherwise the drinking would be 24 hours a day)On one particular evening my mother was pushed aside by two youths as she waited for the lift, she told them they needed to learn some manners, there answers to this comment was to get very close to her face and challange her and then try to trip her up as she left the lift. This incident will give you some insight to the mentality of the place. I offered by sympathies to the staff who work tirelessly and remain pleasant, I could not work at that hotel and endure the guests that go there. Needless to say - not recommened.
