Real Stinker
from LFilip
We paid 3000 euro for 2 weeks all inclusive for two persons. THE ROOMS: A very bad smell comes from the air vents close to the door. In our first day we complained about it, and after that the smell was not so acute, but you could still notice it when entering the room. Our friends, also a married couple, had more bad luck. They changed the rooms twice until they got a room without the smell. Other people we meet there complained about the same problem. Most of the double rooms have to single beds separated by a small commode. You can’t join them. They are just not suitable for a romantic holiday:). The rooms are not vacuum cleaned every day. Our friends said their bed sheets were olso not changed every day. The towels in the bad room were very old. The TV had only 4 channels working properly: 2 Germans, 1 Italian, and BBC world. THE RESTAURANT: Always the same: fried eggs, scrambled eggs, fried bacon, beans, crepes, grilled chicken/turkey, gyros, and so one. After one week you are really fed up with that food. At breakfast after 8:30 you cannot get anymore soft drinks. The waitresses were all in mourning, or so it looked. If you say "Hello" they will correct you promptly almost spelling: "CA-LI-SPE-RA" or "CA-LI-ME-RA" depending of the time of the day. SURROUNDINGS: The next good restaurant is in Pellekas, the next village, 4 Km from the hotel. Acceptable shops are only in Corfu town, where are the biggest piles of garbage I ever saw in a town centre. THE BEACH: The beach is nice, and not very crowded, I guess there is an explanation for it:). But a better choice is Paleocastritsa, if you really want to go to Corfu. CAR RENTAL: The Sixt agent from the hotel is not trust worthy. We agreed to rent a car for the next morning at 9:30, and then she said that the previous client decided to keep the car a day more and she offered us a car from that evening until next day. Next day the shops were closed. We called another car rental agency and we had a car that day but from 11:30.

lovely weather, great location, <a bit secluded>.overall a very good hotel.plus points, its a very spacious hotel but all the floor space is not utilised, to the best advantage. the food is above average.the beach is excellent,a lot better than fig tree bay in cyprus, its supposed to be the best around, louis grand is superior.minor points, the pool is to small, in the peak months it will be very difficult to find space.the animation team try, there best but it could be better.i dont no if this is a good or bad point, but,its mainly german and french who frequent this hotel, and the guests seem to be of shall we say, older. any how we really enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.RICHARD BETHELL 5/07/2007
Great Location, Great All-Inclusive Hotel!
from jules_foreva
Stayed here last year and again this year (11th June 2007). Location is just great, most fantastic views from the beach/pool. Food lovely, couldn't really fault it. Staff all friendly too. Would def return again but note that it gets really busy in July so sunbeds go really quickly...which is why we went in June. Also, when it's hot, the sand on the beach gets really hot so take some jelly shoes or something! Apart from these minor things, this really is a great hotel, good value for money, superb location and food, fab holiday experienced by us!!
Been there 3 times

We have been three times now over 8 years. It has spacious public areas. The Front where you arrive is like the back and does not look attractive. The Gardens are mature and well kept. The Swimming pool is newish. Lots of free loungers on the beach too. We like the hotel a lot but what we could criticise are the "games" facilities. We went early season but all the same over the three times we have been there these "all inclusive" facilities have been the worst of all All inclusive places we have stayed at. For instance, the Free Tennis Court had a pretty ropey net (held up by a piece of metal in centre because the taughtening machinery was bust.) Dirt on court. No broom to sweep away puddles after rain. Balls could escape under wire. Table tennis, one net of two was pretty ropey. Volley ball area had debris in sand ( twigs and flotsam), the net was too low and tatty and there was no rope to mark the boundary. No hose to cool the hot sand. Boules (pettanque) court was a hard baked area in front of the archery target, and the boules could fly off stones unpredictably. While the Animators were enthusiastic they were let down by tatty equipment ( Other than the darts competition which was mind numbingly embarrassingly bad). You could eat Breakfast and Dinner on the open air balcony off the dining room overlooking the Gardens. We very much liked that. Also nice clean white table cloths for dinner. Quite posh considering that the guests weren't mainly. But everyone behaved fine. No obvious drunkenness. Sandy gently shelving beach. Steep road up hill at back. Cant really walk easily to local village, too steep. Small supermarkets very near. Free daily bus to and From Corfu Town. Good place for families who do not want to go clubbing... but there is a famous beach bar just up the beach which plays loud music which was not disturbing to hotel guests. I have made a 3 minute video review on this place which can be viewed on Youtube. Just go to Youtube.com and search for :- Review Glyfada beach Corfu and you should find it.
Loved this hotel
from DerbyBec
We stayed at the Louis for 1 week starting 4th May My first impression on arrival at the hotel was one of disappointment! The hotel looked dated and in need of renovation. However after looking around the hotel after a little sleep, we found it full of charm. The sea was a freezing and the wind was blowing when we arrived. It rained a little the next day. The following day the weather went from strength to strength. 28 by the last day. The sea was great and our 4 year old grandson was soon jumping the big waves and had a great time... couldn't get him out of the water! The staff was all wonderful and very polite. The food was TOO GREAT and ate far too much. There was so much choice and the quality was lovely. If you love Greek food you'll love this hotel. Fantastic pizzas and grilled food cooked near to the beach mmmm. Deserts were to die for! We have always thought if you're going some where you should get out and about, but shamed to say we didn't move for our weeks stay....it was a holiday for our grandson and he didn't want to leave the hotel. All in all it was lovely and we'll be back.
hope this helps!

We went with Olympic holidays and we arrived at the hotel at 10am having had a night flight with no sleep, we wernt allowed our room until 2.30pm, beware of this when booking flights, this was an awful start to the holiday. On first arrival of the hotels outside appearance ok, the interior of the hotel lobby was very poor and dated. Reception staff not very helpful. We slept on very dated sofas until we go our room which thank goodness was modern! The pool was nice the sea and beach was wonderful. Daytime food at the beach was good, evening meals were like a cattle market. Location wise, nothing out of the hotel at all, take some games as the entertainment is bad. Hope this helps, very good for a family all inclusive, not couples.
Loved it, recommend it to anyone

We stayed here in July 2006, and we loved it!! The food is very nice, with a lot to choose from, whether you are a big meat eater or a vegatarian there is a good variety. The rooms are average, clean though which is always good!! The beach is superb, and if you go all inclusive you dont have to pay for the sunbeds and umbrellas. The staff are very pleasant, no complaints there. All in all a great weeks holiday, which was very relaxing and enjoyable. Highy recommended.
TOP of the League

The hotel was spotlessly clean, and rooms very spacious.Lovely balconies with gorgeous views. Food ( we went all inclusive) v good - plenty of variety especially for children.Bar service by pool area v good - friendly staff who would do anything to help. Animation team got those that wanted to participate in the games ( archery, volleyball, table tennis, darts, petanque ,water polo) feel very welcome and my children in particular ( ages 11 AND 14) thoroughly enjoyed it. For v young children the mini disco was well organized. Evening shows a bit hit and miss (magician good)...if you dont want to see the shows theres a nice bar area overlooking the sea upstairs.. In conclusion a good family orientated hotel, not for those looking to rave. The area is quiet and you would need car hire/taxis or organized trips to explore the island. overall we really enjoyed it - peaceful but fun.
Good Food & Plenty of drink
from donlojo
Weather was fab, Pool was good size for hotel & never seemd to get over crowded. Although pool Hygiene was not the best as alot of our family & friends developed ear infections. The food & restaurant were excellant, but staff were not particularly friendly. Hotel entertainment team were very good, they put on most of nightly shows themselves but were a little ameature. The location of hotel was a little too isolated for us as there was no where really to walk out in the evening. We went with Thomsons & the rep was terrible, we never saw her. Avoid the hotel kids club, totally unsafe for childrem. My son walked out on several occasions & they didnt even notice!!! Good holiday, value for money as all inclusive but wouldnt go back.
Beautiful hotel - shame about the weather
from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed during the last week of September - apparently this is not a good time to visit! Torrential downpour and VERY rough sea for the first few days. However, the last two days were absolutley beautiful and we soon forgot the bad weather! The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. Book a sea view though - the mountain view rooms overlook a parking lot - not very nice. Sea view rooms had huge balconies & were really nice. Pool was beautiful and very clean. But lots of german tourists running outside at 6am to get a sunbed which was a bit ridiculous considering the hotel wasnt full at all!! I read the reviews about the service at the pool bar and I have to totally disagree. Of course, we did not visit in high season so there was no wait for a drink most times...but as long as you are nice to the bartenders they remember you and treat you right! There are two younger Greek guys that work there...Yannis and his brother...they were so much fun & totally made our holiday. No complaints there. The food was out of this world. So many choices, something for everyone. Way better than I had expected. Waitstaff were very nice too. I would love to return in June...before the heat and crowds of July and August. There are a few little beach taveras nearby that looked like they would have been really fun...but at the time of year we went it was a ghost town with just the bartender in each one. Still had fun though!! I imagine it must be so much fun in the summer...but otherwise its quite isolated from anything else. Just the hotel and a couple nearby beach bars. There is a free bus to Corfu town and we spent one afternoon in Corfu Old town which was nice for a change. But as far as wild and crazy nightlife or anything like that - this isnt the place. I guess the only complaint was the front desk/management/reception. We went on this trip for my fiancee's 30th birthday. I emailed the hotel asking about a (free!) upgrade to a sea view and was told there were none available but they would try to get me a nice room. I then looked on the internet and saw there were sea views avaialble. I emailed again saying I didnt mind paying, I just wanted a nice room. No one replied - I even copies management and no one replied. We got there and they stuck us in a room overlooking the parking lot and I asked to be changed and they said yes as long as I paid 16 euros a day. We did - but it would have saved a lot of hassle if they had just answered my email. Front desk people were REALLY not friendly at all. My advice - go in June before the heat and crowds of summer...and before the rain and isolation of the autumn!!
An excellent hotel, albeit in an isolated location. Food good, drinks good, beach small but adequate. My only gripe is that when we went in August, they were plagued by wasps (not their fault I know), but lunch was served in an outdoor beach restaurant and often I would... more
