I just got back from the Grand Paradise Bavaro. There was a group of 10 of us who went there, we all had a great time. The food was great, service was wonderful, weather was perfect. Sunny, no clouds all day, everyday, then it would cloud over at night, rain for 20 - 30 minutes (it didn't matter much because you are either inside eating or watching the show)then the clouds would part away and you could gaze at the stars all night!! I was amazed at how friendly the staff were. We all had a wonderful time on the trip, thanks again to The Grand Paradise Bavaro. Can't wait to do it again!!

I had travelled with four other girls to Punta Cana. May 7-14. We all had an excellent time. There isn't anything We could complain about, only our holiday was to short. The staff were very friendly and outgoing. The food was to die for, we were told the food was not the greatest, well! it is like this , the only people to complain about the resort, food or staff are simple complainers to begin with. My room was always spotless, we had our fridge filled everyday, the staff kept all of busy dancing , doing water sports and even arobics. I never stopped. I am a very outgoing person from the start, that makes it that much easier for alot of people. We left treats and tips every day for the staff, they well deserved it. The beach was always clean, the trees and flowers were certainly looked after. Their is so much for me to say, I could go on forever. If you have any questions please email me, I also have alot of beautiful pictures. This is a resort to remember, Yvette
have a wonderful time under the sun

Bring lots of sun block! The weather in this part of the Dominican Republic is incredibly sunny and hot! If you go expecting lots of sun and surf you'll have a good time at the Grand Paradise! The hotel grounds were a bit bare when we got there May of 2002, but the natural vegetation surrounding the beach was just great. The palm trees between the pool area and the beach allowed for some shade. The beach was beautiful, the water was warm and there were schools of fish in waste high water, fantastic! The front desk as can be expected were a bit stiff but generally pleasant. But once past check in, I never really went by the lobby! The other hotel staff was very friendly and courteous and the performers of the nightly show were even friendlier before and after the show! The disco at night was rather boring but I guess there wasn't a good New York crowd in the place the night that I went. The performers of the show did their best to make up for the lack of patrons! As far as the hotel goes, the walk up to the hotel room on the third floor was about the only thing I did not like. I don't like climbing stairs or being any higher than a second floor when I'm on vacation at a beach resort! The room and bathroom were good and kept clean daily. The room was quiet inside and I had no trouble sleeping! The phone and TV worked fine. There was no Internet access on the hotel grounds. I had to walk to another hotel nearby to access the Internet. The gym is bare bones, not worth mention. The guys at the water sport rental were very nice with the exception of the French manager. I love the French, but this guy makes them look BAD. He had absolutely no manners whatsoever. He wanted me to walk along the beach to another hotel to validate my American Express card before going parasailing. The nerve of this guy! In all fairness the hotel does not manage this concession but since it is on hotel ground someone should keep an eye on him!The food in the main dining area was good and plentiful. The restaurants were really jusatered down. Just have more than one to compensate!I think the hotel is just fine for a young crowd looking to have fun with minimal service. I would go again to the Grand Paradise, and knowing what I know now I would have a wonderful time under the sun!

Wow! After reading other people's poor rating reviews I am astonished!!! The hotel was gorgeous, the service was nothing to complain about and the food was spectacular. I've been to other all-inclusive resorts before and I would go back to this one in a second. The buffet was different every night, the a la carte restaurants were fantastic and the servers were friendly. After being to Cuba last year I knew that there would be a language barrier, but I found it easier to communicate with the Dominican's. Arriving at 11am and not having my room ready was very upsetting... but the rest of the trip made me forget until just reading the other reviews. No complaints here!!!
Had and awsome time and will be returning!!!

I just returned home from a 2 week vacation at this hotel. Myself and 23 others were there and we all had a wonderful time. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. Now the food could be a little better but what can you expect when you go to a different country. The serves was great and everyone was full of smiles. The grounds were well looked after and everything you could ever want was provided. Drinks were everywhere you looked and there was no shortage believe me!!!!! We went para-sailing, snorkeling, boarding, sailing. There was tennis, areobics (land & water) volleyball, soccer, games and shows every night. We also went on an all day sailing trip to an island and its private beach, had lunch then returned by power boat to go snorkeling on a coral reaf to feed exotic fish! (must have been the best part of the trip) All in all... everyone had an amazing time, and I personally can't wait to get back on the island for some hot fun in the sun and even hotter night in the disco!!! Turst me... you will not be let down if you come to this wonderful hotel and resourt!!!!!!!!

We went to Amhsa Marina Grand Paradise Bavaro All Inclusive from April 29 to May 6, and we had a lot of fun, The food was great, the resort, rooms and restaurants were really clean, everybody was nice except maybe a couple of ladies at the reception. The activities during the days were well organised and the entertainment during the night was always excellent. Sometimes people from the audience had to participate in it, and we laugh and laugh. If you participate you can win Rum, T-shirts or certificates. It's fun having the food and drinks all-inclusive. Keep in mind that no bartender makes a drink the same way, and all of them make the drinks really strong.Check in: Check in is always around three o'clock so you might have to leave your luggage in the lounge for a while. Accept that our check in was fine, we got the room we wanted. TIPS: always ask for two room keys, and if you want a locker key it's 20$ US for the week.Flea Market: The Flea market is about 10-15 minutes walk to your right on the beach, when you get there, You'll find a lot of nice souvenirs. TIP: when they tell you the price, always cut the price at lease in half.Tips: Make sure you bring sunscreen, it's very expensive at the boutique (20$ US) and if you usually have cravings for chips, bring some because they sell a bag of lays 5 $ US. -Make sure to bring extra money if you plan on doing activities like swimming with dolphins (70$ US); snorkelling (70 $ Us); or going on a Safari tour 70$ US.Have fun, enjoy your trip and enjoy the sun.

Seven great days at Grand Paradise Bavara with eight other girlfriends. It was the ultimate vacation. The staff were great but the check in was very poor. We had to wait quite a while for our rooms and we would of liked to had them together as requested but it didn't happen. That was our only complaint, not to bad hey for nine women? The grill was excellent especially at late night, the Asian restaurant was good and I loved our breakfast at the buffet. The beach was lovely, be there early to grab a hut and chair. The shows were class A and the people were just as friendly as Newfoundlanders, which I might add says alot! They work very hard in that heat and do an excellent job.I would love to return again someday.
Best ever! coming from a world travleer

I have traveld all over the U.S.,( Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Massachussettss, New Jersey, New York,Maine, New Hampshire) all over Europe (Bulgaria, Italy, Austria, Germany, Greece, Chez. Rep., Slovakia, England,....) But in all of my travels, Grand Paradise Bavaro is easily placed at the top of my list. Being my first time in the Caribbean, I didn't know what to expect. But being there those awfully short 4 days, I had the best vacation of my life. tHE BEACHES, POOLS, ACTIVITIES, SHOWS, *DISCO*, all of it was mind blowing. The best part of it all was truly the staff. Dissmissing the idol fact that it is their job, even so in real - life they are the nicest, politest, and funnest people I have ever met. A week after now, and I still think about it everyday. FOR THE BEST ALL - AROUND VACATION, GO TO GRAND PARADISE BAVARO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and two other people stayed at this gorgeous hotel the week of April 22-29th...We landed on a Tuesday and took the shuttle to the hotel. Beware of the drivers, you may lose you're life and that's not a joke..we saw a bus crash on the way going home (to the airport), really scary.. ANYWAY..driving from the airport to the resort takes about 20 minutes, should actually take 40 minutes...The Dominican is very poor and driving to the resort, you think oh no..what did i do.. but you get there and it's GORGEOUS! the visuals of this hotel are amazing, however, our biggest and most frustrating complaint was the continuous bad service we recieved throughout the week.. BEWARE!!!!! It's too bad that such a beautiful resort had such horrific service, what a waste! Anyway... Our room, was not ready when we arrived at 11:00 AM, which we anticipated so bring a change of clothing b/c you will sweat to death, it is HOT there! We had to wait until 3:30 until we could check in, i really don't know why? We get to our room, which is sort of bare but you can deal with it, our room overlooked the pool area, really nice.. However, we had no comforters, towels, tissues, yada yada yada..What took them so long, the room wasn't even prepared??? Things got progressively worse as the week went on..We found that the cleaning ladies and most of the other workers there do not know a LICK of english, so it is EXTREMELY hard to communicate what you need, it definately helps if you know spanish. We never ended up getting what we needed unless we got it ourselves..even after asking millions of times..we finally got our comforters on Saturday..3 days b4 our trip ended. DO NOT USE THE PHONE...even if you have a calling card, they don't tell you that even when you use your calling card it cost 3 american dollars each time you use it, plus whatever costs are on your card..its ridiculous! The pool area is very popular as are the hut areas on the beach, if you want one, you need to wake up at like 7 or earlier to get one.. Don't be fohere it was completely overcast, so we layed out anyway with 30 SPF on our skin, and got fried..you still get sun...go easy. If you're like me and love to tan..don't worry you will, just take your time. Activities: you must do the safari 4-wheeling business...it's great..we passed a nudist colony on the beach, very bizarre, 3 people hovered over a fire on a local beach..and saw a cave..fun. Then we did the snorkel thing, also really fun, don't touch the coral! you'll kill it!DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT do the free horseback riding they offer in the morning, i made that mistake, and luckily still alive to write about, i got the psycho horse that felt the need to race the others. Ridiculous and you're ass hurts for days, so don't bother. The snorkeling and 4-wheeling are expensive but fun! don't miss out! Always bargain when buying something..never pay what they ask.. NEVER.The food is amazing, however the Asian grill was the only rest. that made all 3 of us, really sick. Good goin down but not back up.what else..last tip..enjoy yourself here, just don't expect anyone (staff) to do anything for you..get rid of other hotel service in your mind..they wont do it! but have fun, this place is beautiful!!!! hope this helped, and be sure to contact me if you have any questions..i'll tell it like it is..
Fun, relaxation & paradise!

Me and 9 of my friends just spent 1 week at the Grand Paradise. We were in awe when we arrived, because of the beauty. The ocean and the resort looked just as they did in all the brochures. The staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We met many different people and bring home lots of stories to tell. The rooms are clean, maybe lacking some towels, but clean. The beach is kept very clean, as well as the pool. Excellent variety of food and beverages. The Mariana staff will keep you busy all day, dancing, singing, playing games, if that is what you would like.I think we will try to go again next year, with the kids. They will love it!!
