Submitted By: Mrs S ToombsThe hotel is excellent although may benefit from a little spruce up in places. The hotel staff are all excellent and nothing is any trouble for them at all, although the reception staff do let them down a little with their at times abrupt attitude.
The pool area and pools are excellent.
We were there at the beginning of the summer season and the hotel entertainment staff were excellent both during the days down by the pool and in the evenings in the hotel bar. They really are good guys who seem to love kids.
The Thompson Hotel rep was not so good, he is an arrogant gentleman that would do better finding another career path!! He actuall ruined our holiday (but that is another story)
The Thompson team overall were excellent although I think they need to review there arrivals policy. We arrived at hotel at around 7.30pm and were not shown around or had anything explained to us at all the rep just disappeared leaving the guests to sort it out themselves with the hotel staff. (Other tour operators at least explain things more to the guests on arrival and provide a welcome drink)!
Overall excellent, and we are looking forward to returning hopefully later in the year.
Though we won't if the same rep is still working there he is atrocious!

Submitted By: Mrs K CoxThe hotel was gorgeous and we were lucky to all have balcony's with views of the sea and outside pool and grounds. The reception area was cleaned every day to a very high standard and the reception staff were very helpful and polite.
The rooms had a tv with very basic channels. The bathroom was lovely and big especially for people with small children. There was a shower and a bath. The beds were massive! My room was cleaned every day to a very high standard. Take your own kettle for tea. Safe optional at reception. Also remeber your travel plug for hairdryers, kettle etc...
I used the normal tap water and sterilising tablets for my daughters bottles and she did not suffer with any tummy problems. I used bottle water for drinking and brushing my teeth.
The restaurant was lovely and the staff could not have been any more helpful. The food was always cooked fresh and topped up. The food was mainly egg dishes, pasta, pizza, meats. Although lovely salads were available and some potato dishes.
The yellow cabs offer a bargain, for a trip to the port of the local Medina. Beware at the local medina as you will come in to contact with people who want you to haggle for there goods! This can get very annoying although it is a very good experience.
All in all a lovely hotel, indoor pool a bit run down and outdoor pool freezing, although readily available sun loungers. The beach was a stones throw and so gorgeous. Slightly littered and water was cold but beautiful. Well worth a visit.

Submitted By: Mr C A RansomOne major problem we had was that some of the more senior members of our group found the stairs difficult to cope with. There are lifts from the ground floor to all the rooms, but only stairs down to the restaurant and out into the grounds, pools & beach. There were about 20 steps down I would guess. Should be aware of this if using this hotel. Also TV was very limited - only two English channels and one was BBC World which is news mostly!

Submitted By: Mr EvansThe food was good with a lot of choice and the staff were very nice. There was always something on in the evenings to keep the kids busy. However when we went for a welcome meeting our children stayed with the kids club staff when we got back some 30 minutes later we found them wandering around the hotel looking for us with my 5 year old in tears. They had just been left to there own devices after only a few minutes of crazy golf thank goodness my eldest son was there.
The only thing that I didn't like was the trip to the Madena. One of the shop owners grabbed my son from under our eyes dragging him into his shop luckly there were a few of us and one of our party spotted him being taken in to the shop. Bbeing 13 he didn't want to hold anyone's hand. He stayed close after that also my 5 year old daughter was constantly having her hair stroked by the Tunisia men which made us very uncomfortable. So she was put onto my shoulder for safety. Its a nice place when you get there but I was a little worried on the way from the airport i have to say.

Submitted By: DoberI really enjoyed to be in Sousse in Tour Khalef. Staff friendly, location nice, entertainment super. They can't give you a chance to bore. You may relax without thinking about anything.
Food is good, general dishes and surely traditional local dishes. Probably watermelon is very cheap in Tunisia.
Also we were able to have a snack afternoon in bar next to pool.
See is amazing: light blue, warm and quiet. Beach has very soft sea-sand what is comfortable to play beach-volley of soccer, as in Copacabana. I met friendly guys during play games (volleyball), in particular pretty lady from Poland.
Also we'd walked in Sousse. Clean streets, friendly locals who joke with you or ask where you are from, attractive cafes, etc.
It's possible to have short journey, for instance to Cartage, to Sahara or just in open see on old ships.
Finally, I can say that was lovely and I enjoyed too much. I will plan to come back again.

Submitted By: Mr Y YermagambetovHotel is something amazing. Good service, friendly staff, big hall to sit and relax. The swimming pool and beach are located near to each other what is very comfortable. And one thing which I really liked that is 4 bars in hotel. Entertainment little bit routine, but good enough. A club inside the hotel also nice.
I liked a food in hotel restaurant, many dishes to choose.
About a local people in Sousse: they quite friendly and speak able. I found friends in Tunisia, that's why I happy. We played volleyball on a beach where I met a lot of nice people, in particular: pretty Polish lady! Also I played polo in pool.
Finally I want to say that was lovely. I really enjoyed my rest and will come back in a future.

Submitted By: Mrs D PellThe Tour Khalef was fantastic place, great for families of all ages. Staff were fantastic day and night specially the animation team...Momo, Rami, Rio, Mido and Anya who do an 18 hr day everyday with smiles and laughter constantly.
Evening entertainment was weekly basis so repeated animations, mini disco then dragging us poor mothers up to join in was the most fun. Doing all the dance routines was fab, had to buy the cd and kids still doing the dance routines now.
Food was ok sometimes repetitive but hey it was edible. The Russians need sending elsewhere, very rude arrogant and no manners for queuing or pushing kids out of que's. Tut tut. Or words to that effect!
Beach was lovely clean and no pushy sellers with lots of water sports and yes the pool was cold but it would be with fresh water being pumped thro constantly.
We did hear all inclusive was a pain to be waiting for 40 mins or so at one small bar for drinks, which were provided in small cups and all own brand alcohol or watered down apparently.
Much better to be half board. Waiter service spot on constantly, room service was quick and always hot cuppa on hand with a smile.
Rooms were cleaned daily and would come back if having a lay in. We had a sea view which was out of this world with the blue sea green palms and the pirate boats constantly sailing past always something to sit and watch.
All in all I have no complaints apart from the Russians, the Tour Khalef gave us the best holiday ever kids want to go back rather than going to America, so in our minds must be good. Can’t wait to see everyone next year.

Submitted By: F RASAs an allegedly 4 star hotel, ladies- there are no hairdryers, either in the rooms or for hiring out.
You are not allowed to take the hotel bath towels out to the swimming pools.
The 'all' in drinks are the subject of flagrant abuse by the bar staff, who after swiping your wrist band for goodness knows how many times. If you are supposed to receive a receipt for the drinks, we certainly didn't get any.
The dinars currency is very confusing, but the hotel will willingly exchange your sterling pound notes. But they will not change them back again should you be fortunate to have any left after your stay at the hotel.
You have to join a long queue at the airport prior to your return flight. Altogether an experience.
The food was good although again they are installing more seating and more food display cabinets; - goodness knows what it will be like in the height of the season.
Glad we went in April, when it was reasonably quiet, but will not be returning.

Submitted By: Miss V ParfittStayed in the Tour Khalef in Sousse, which isn’t in Sousse it’s about 2 miles outside, a 30 minute stroll. Which wasn’t a bad stroll in the sun (when it was sunny as most of the holiday it was cloudy and very windy).
The down side to this stroll was as you got to the walk beside the beach, this is where all the young local men sat and thought any European woman without a male escort was fair game, and they would pester you until you told them in so many words to go away!
Sousse itself is a nice place to visit but only if you are prepared for the haggling which can go on for in my experience over half an hour, once again two women on their own got more hassle than if with a man. I had my stomach touched more times than I care to remember as they like the larger lady!
Getting through passport check at the airport was an experience; it takes ages and watch out for people pushing in. We found that one Russian could keep place for 10 others and they thought this ok, we didn’t.
The bus trip to the hotel doesn’t take long, and we had help with the bags door staff very helpful for a couple of dinars. You have to fill in yet another form at the hotel. And as it was lunch time we were ushered straight to the dining room before getting to our room.
The room was clean and as it was on the 7th floor had a great view, it was quiet but I'm sure I could hear every other door in the hotel open and close, they seemed to echo.
The food was lovely but a bit repetitive and there was always spaghetti and chips on the menu.
The only bad part of the room would be the shower, if you could call it that, it was more of a dribble, a challenge in itself. The room was cleaned every day, and the cleaner was very friendly, as were all the hotel staff.
Pool was clean but cold, the beach was lovely and clean and we never got any hassle from men trying to sell stuff as they were not allowed on that part of the beach. But go off the private part and be prepared for the hassle of sellers.
Don’t be put off by this as Tunisia is a lovely place for a holiday, and the people are very friendly, overly friendly in my case!
I will still go back but maybe to a smaller hotel.

Submitted By: nelliciousWe didn't really partake in the entertainment in the evening, we thought it was a bit cheesy, but all good holiday fun. Instead we went to the neighboring hotel who put a children’s disco on for us.
We would def go back. The children learnt so much about life and customs and they experienced so much - horse/camel/donkey riding, pirate ship cruise including fishing, loads more. Enjoy!
