Submitted By: mercedes 123of 6 age range from 25-50! firstly the grounds are beautiful and kept very clean, the food was very much a typical all inclusive and can become quite boring! rooms were clean and tidy! men in ourparty very disapointed/annoyed that they could only play the sports/games when the animation team said? they asked on numerous occassions if they could leave deposits for table tennis only to be told its only allowed at certain times of the day!! (this was a big downer for our party) they thought they were being treated like children instead of grown ups on holiday! the entertainment was RUBBISH!! could have done with a light bit of music when sitting around the main bar? service in the restaurant was not good we often had to ask the waiters to come and clear other people dirty plates so that we can sit down to eat! the sevice was not that of a 4 star hotel!(but we had heard from other guest that the service had gone down from previous trips they had had at this hotel!bar staff never seemed happy! wine in self service stands often run out! had to tell staff 3 times in that week (no wine)! we did go out of the hotel 5 nights out of the 7 had some really good times every 1 so friendly! whispers / melodies were good nights! corful town was very nice! all in all we had a good time apart from these few little hiccups!would reccommend this hotel just for the beautiful grounds we loved the lagoon pool/beach
Advice: small friendly

Submitted By: TinbugThis hotel is definately one I will be going back to. Everything about it was perfect. Food was excellent.
Room was very modern and very clean. Had a lovely view looking out to sea.
Two super pools, hard to decide which pool to use each day.
Would recommend this hotel to families and couples.

Submitted By: Miss N WilsonThe next morning we met up with our rep and were more than informed of the activities we could take part in. We decided on a boat ride to a private beach where we would stay for a few hours and be provided with lunch. This was the most amazing activity I have ever taken part in on holiday. We were given a tour of the island and were taken into the caves where one of the tour guides jumped out of the water and returned with a star fish! After we had some more than enough sight-seeing, we headed to the private beach. We snorkelled under the water and fed our hunger with a very appetising lunch. After a long day we returned back to hotel and enjoyed the dinner provided by the hotel or we would go out to the other magnificent restaurants that were nearby.
We had an amazing time at the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel and had no bad memories to reflect on at all - apart from a slight problem with the wasps!
Things changed however, when we returned home and but only 2 days later the hotel was all over the news. This was a massive shock as the hotel seemed almost unreal as it was so perfect. Our stories of how elegant the hotel was were crushed by the horrific news that took place in October 2006 in the Louis Corcyra Beach hotel.
We were deeply saddened and shocked by this news. We could not look back on our holiday without thinking of the young children involved in the terrible event that took place. This also made us scared at how this could have been us. It was a definite eye-opener. Although this incident was very horrible and a complete trauma to a lot of people, we still enjoyed our week in the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel and would thoroughly recommend it. That is if there were definitely all safety precautions taken to ensure the safety of all the hotel's customers.
We would certainly return if this was a certainty. But for now, we'll just look back on our remarkable week and we will most definitely remember it forever.

Submitted By: Mr D SouthallJust outside the hotel is a private water resort named Laguna - we personally found this to be overpriced and not that special - when the hotels own facilities were more than adequate.
It is one of the most beautiful and enjoyable resorts I have ever visited.

Submitted By: Mr First TimerGetting back to the holiday, we were dismayed when arriving to find the hotel overbooked (it's their normal policy!). We'd booked 2 adjoining rooms, as our children are growing up, but ended up with all 4 of us in 1 room. The hotel wouldn't help, but after having a good moan at the Thomson Rep, we were given another room on day 3. The other problem we encountered was the staff and service. Other people's reviews say how friendly they are - that's crap!
After recently adding an extra 120 rooms, they have added nil staff so they are operating on the same number of staff to serve an extra 300 people (ish). On the basis the hotel is mainly all inclusive too, the waiters do not get much in tips anymore (one of them told us that and it made a hell of a difference to their package), then the lack of friendliness is partly not surprising. Most mornings, one waiter would be having a stand-up row with the head waiter or one of their other colleagues.
So after that lot, why are we going back ?!? The location is idyllic and the view fantastic, especially watching the seaplane take off every day. The food was very good, especially the salads, even if the staff do make you feel guilty about eating. The pool was nice, Gouvia is very quaint and the marina so tranquil but a very affluent place - some of the yachts were out of this world and I'm sure Abramovich must stop there at times! The location too is only 20 mins from the airport and on a lovely peaceful peninsular with a small private beach looking over the bay.
Great water sports, although we did spend quite a bit there - tip : make sure you haggle over the price they offfer you. What really did it for us though was the friends we made. They were all on their 4th, 5th, 6th year, etc. on the trot and so knew the ropes. Great company too, because although the entertainment was distinctly average (and repeated weekly, doh !), we made our own fun. The 2 reps were stunningly beautiful and great for the guys, but not so good for the ladies who had to endure the men ogling their bodies for 2 full weeks! As I understand it, there were some Italian guys who provided the entertainment prior to 2006, who were meant to be brilliant, but they left after an argument. The 2 girls I believe are moving on and most people are hoping the Italians will be returning.
To finish, this place is beautiful, thus why so many people keep on coming back. Although the under-staffing and entertainment cast a cloud on the 2006 season, the major thought in our minds is those 2 lovely children and their parents. We do want to go back, but we don't, if you know what I mean, more out of respect. As far as I'm aware thus far, the friends we made are still going back.

Submitted By: Ms A SteelWe have been shocked to read of recent tragic events within the hotel and are dismayed at the British press coverage of the hotel. We have found nothing but the best of service from all the staff. When we had problems with our air conditioning the first year, we were immediately allocated another bungalow and upgraded to full board free of charge.
Despite this tragic accident, we would have absolutely no hesitation in returning to the hotel next year.

Submitted By: Mr C FergusonThe facilities were very good. "Grumpiness" about the "man-made" beach are just nit picking. OK, the water's not crystal clear as on the west coast of Corfu, but it's fine for swimming and cavorting, if not snorkelling! and its gentle shelving is ideal for small kids.
The hotel facilities themselves are good. Two good pools, good food - though might become boring after two weeks - we stayed for just one. Nice new "Chinese" restaurant, which is probably better described as "oriental" since it also serves sushi!
The staff were helpful and friendly everywhere in the hotel. Any minor faults we had - dodgy patio doors, broken hair dryer, warm fridge - were dealt with within an hour of being reported, and in the case of the fridge and hair dryer within minutes!
Gouvia itself has some lively bars, which suited our teenage son! One tip. If you can't arrange a late check out from your room, and have to check out of your room and then have a long wait for your flight, make sure you book the courtesy room available, so you can shower and change before heading to the airport.

Submitted By: Mrs A BullockPool very good although there is the usual mad dash in a morning for sun beds. Great position of hotel, right on beach yet just adjacent to Gouvia itself. You must go on the boat trip from Corfu town for the day. It is absolutely fantastic and also the glass bottom boat trip (more like a glass bottom hull) quite scary in a way being under the water in all that glass but definitely worthwhile.
Corfu town lovely but we walked round it in the scorching heat - better going on a cloudy day if you get one! All in all, a lovely holiday, lovely hotel but will be going somewhere different next year (and that is no disrespect to the hotel - just like to go different places). Enjoy!

Submitted By: Miss R SircarAs soon as one person stepped onto this the whole thing moved. This is certainly not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. As the room was above the main walkway you had to close the curtains to get changed, which meant you were getting changed in pitch blackness. We asked a reception if it was possible to change rooms as we were not satisfied but they wouldn't budge saying the hotel was full. However from sitting in reception we witnessed several peopled checking out that morning and new people not arriving until that evening. We held out to speak to our Rep who was due to be there that morning, she spoke to the hotel and within 10 mins had us moved to the main hotel building. Beware if the porter takes you down the hill you are heading for the this block!
The Lagoon pool was lovely however all sun beds were taken within seconds of the pool opening at 10am, you have to be prepared to queue for at least 30 mins to get a bed as the area around the pool is not big enough to house the 1000 people that are at the hotel. Our main disappointment was the beach, there is no sea it is more like a lake! The water is very clear but it is very stony with no waves. As the hotel is called Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel you expect a decent beach, however on the up side there are some beautiful views right across the bay. As we had trouble getting a sun bed around either pool we tried the sun beds on the private beach however be prepared to pay 4 euros per bed if you are not all inclusive guests.
If you get a chance go to Aqua land this was the best water park we have ever been to, something to entertain everyone. The best way to get there was 15 euros in taxi.
Corfu Town was nice by day and by night, lots of cobbled streets with lots of shops. The main square is pleasant to sit in of an evening to watch the world go by. We spent most evenings at Whispers bar in Gouvia 2 for 1 on all drinks.
The food was lovely we didn't have a bad meal at all something for everyone. The crusty bread was the best we have ever experienced abroad. However at full capacity the dining room staff are run off their feet struggling to turn tables around.
Overall we had a lovely holiday but probably won’t return to this hotel.

Submitted By: Mrs L LindsayNow I don’t know if I am easily pleased or if this was the best hotel we had ever stayed in on Corfu. The food was great with a wide choice and getting a place around the pool or lagoon (freezing cold) was never a problem in fact bagging a bed was frowned upon.
We had a great time and everything was kept very clean. Well definitely visit Louis hotels again in the future.

Submitted By: Not SpecifiedHowever, the staff are poorly organised and unhelpful. Our rooms were not ready until 3 hours after arrival - not ideal after a long journey with 2 children. If you have two twin rooms don’t expect them to be near each other even if you have requested adjoining rooms and are travelling with children - they are not helpful in accommodating this.
The hotel charges extras for everything - no drinks, not even water, are included if you go full board and waits for the bar are long at all times of the day due to understaffing.
The food is good but the dining room is overcrowded and dinner tends to be cleared away about half an hour before the advertised time so get there early.
If travelling with small children be aware that all the pools are very deep. The children’s lagoon has a small shallow area but is mainly 1.4m deep all round. There are no slides etc. - it’s just a freeform pool. The main pool is nearly 3m deep. This is located next to the area where children’s entertainment is held in the evenings and there are no barriers to stop a child roaming from the entertainment area to the pool.
The children’s club is poor - two hours a day max and aimed at very small children so children of 7 upward will be bored there.
Water sports activities off the beach are hideously overpriced (18 Euros per person for 10mins) - try Aqualand instead - a 15min taxi ride from the hotel (12 Euros each way, then it cost 60 Euros for a family of four for entry all day) - a much cheaper option than taking the tour operators trips to Aqualand.
The beach is good and the sea excellent.
Evening entertainment is poor and not in the best of taste for children unless The Rocky Horror Show has become children’s entertainment.
Overall this hotel seem to be best for adult couples rather than for family entertainment.

Submitted By: Mr R PortessWe had no faults whatsoever with our room or the food, apartment was clean and tidy when we arrived and they carried our cases for us off the bus to our apartment.
The private beach was well maintained, clean and safe.
All facilities were very clean, drinks and food prices were cheap!! There’s table tennis and snooker table by the pool (indoors) if the kids get bored when you’re sun-bathing.
There’s an entertainment stage with nightly shows done by kid’s club reps, which really is entertaining!!
We would definitely go back there, my wife and I found a nice pub just round the corner where we went most nights while the girls went to a 'trendy bar' called whispers, as the cocktails where cheap and music was to there taste!!
There are a lot of good restaurants there, if you like to be different try the Greek restaurant ‘dolphin’ as their Greek dishes are delicious (they don’t cook dolphin, its just the name!) Or for the less adventurous there are English pubs which sell traditional English food.
The people were so friendly, it was my wife’s birthday whilst we was there, the rep knew and told the bar we went to, they gave us free drinks all night and had a little celebration with us!!!
Overall......we loved it!!
