Great Relaxing Holiday
from lilley
Just returned from Iberostar Kerkyra Golf, we all had a fab time. Weather was superb, in the 30's every day. Less than 20 mins from airport, taxi fare 12 euros, why wait for the coach. Hotel very clean and tidy and staff attentive and friendly. Room clean, tidy and well appointed, most rooms have a seaview, which is an added bonus. The grounds very impressive, take a drink from the bar and stroll in the grounds of an evening, sit by the sea and watch the world go by. Food we found was excellent, choice and quality was good. If you are late to the pool say after 11am most prime sites are taken. Plenty of space though in the extensive grounds with shade under the trees or on the small beach, with umbrellas. Entertainment was fine, plenty of activity during the day to stop you getting board, stretching, water gym, volleyball, water polo, darts, french bowls, archery, football. Corfu Town again just 15 min away in a taxi, 10 euros or local bus on the hour outside hotel for 1 euro, single. Take the cab less hassle. Recommend land train, in Corfu Town, from outside Mcdonalds, in the Liston area, about an hour takes you around most of the spots in the town cost 4 euros per person.
fantastic, brilliant holiday
from shakyBristol
The hotel itself is fabulous, clean, well presented and all the hotel staff very very friendly and polite. If you want a great place to unwind and relax then this is the perfect hotel. The pool is brilliant, a little cold but nice and the surrounding area is great, the gardens etc are kept in tip top condition. The view from the balcony is stunning, beautiful gardens leading on to the narrow sandy beach with beautiful views across to the mountains. There is quite a bit of grass type seaweed but once past that the sea is warm and clear. The only disappointing point to this hotel is the evening entertainment, it is very very poor, aimed at the very small or the older generation, not good if you have teenagers, we were all very bored in the evenings. The buffet style food is excellent, plenty of choice, the puddings are absolutely divine. The rooms are well decorated, well kept and always cleaned and beds made on a daily basis, they even provide bottled water in your fridge free of charge. Although plenty of daytime activities if you want them there isnt much to do in the surrounding area, a short bus (over crowded) ride into corfu town is a must, the old and new town are wonderful, the shops are great.
Lovely Hotel in Good Sight-seeing Location
from Blackcat2
Went here with my husband and two children aged 14 and 12. The rooms were of a good size and kept very clean. The sea views from the balcony are fantastic. Food was of a high quality and variety and the fresh pizzas were lovely. Outside of mealtime snacks were a little disappointing. The pool was freezing but may get warmer as the season goes on. It was too cold for me but the sea was warmer. The beach is pretty much non-existant and the sea does have some grass in it but was still clean. However, no waves made it a bit boring. The daytime activities were good. All went ahead when there were enough people. Not much for teenagers, though. However, if out for the day, don't rush back for the evening entertainment. Pretty poor. The immediate surrounding area is horrible. There are no shops or bars to speak of and there is a main road running into Corfu town with no pavements, which makes walking difficult. The bus stops are at the bottom of the drive which is very convenient. Fares are cheap but times of the buses are erratic. However, you can get a bus to the town (5-10 mins) and then another to anywhere on the island so that is good. Overall, I would recommend but may prefer to stay on the other side of the island if I came back.

A Very Good Holiday!
from holidays_are_great
The Hotel The Hotel was lovely and very clean. The Hotel was very up on its cleaning. The reception was very plain, but very crisp and clean. The main bar had plenty of seating inside with very comfy sofas!! The seating outside of the main bar also had plenty of seating, it was lovely to sit out there and have a quiet drink looking out to the sea. The rooms were very clean, we had a problem with our air conditioning leaking, we rang the reception and there was some one up to fix it straight away. The bathroom was big and very clean, you could get clean towels whenever you needed them. The room was cleaned everyday, the maids were very poliet and were very good at their job, they gave you 2 large bottles of water everyday for free. We had a room facing the harbour which was beautiful to watch the ships sail in and out, but we would of liked one facing the gardens and pool area. There is a small shop within the complex which is helpful for your everyday needs, you get the days newspaper and a selection of magazines, the shop also has some beautiful souviners. The Hotel also has internet access. You can also hire beach towels which were 10 euros each, but this was a refundable payment, you could change these towels every 3 days. The Hotel has 2 lifts which saves you climbing all those stairs. The Hotel also has a jewellery shop which we didnt buy anything from, but none off the goods had prices so i would say they are quite pricey. The reception staff are very friendly and sort out any problems you may have while your away. There is a pool table just outside. The animation team were brilliant considering they had a hard time trying to get people to join in with the games. There was Adam, Milan, Veronica and three other girls and the boss. They all worked very had to try and keep people entertained, there were games around the pool such as, adults water polo, kids waterpolo, mini action, volleyball, archery, morning gym, water gym, football, table tennis, darts etc.. There is also a kids club and a kids mini disco. The entertainment in the evening was quite good, had programmes like, international dancers, paula and george (singers) Mr & Miss Kerkrya Golf, Magic Show, Cabaret Show etc.. Also on the beach, there are many water sports to try out, and you can hire pedeloes for free! The breakfast was nice, with food from all different countries, theres the famous 'english breakfast' but its not quie the same, fresh fried eggs and waffles are cooked reguraly. The Dinner was o.k, it did get rather repetitive, there quite a lot of fish, myself and my husband enjoyed the food but the kids didnt. The lunches were also o.k with soup and freshly baked pizza, and then you have the meals such as spaghetti bolanaise etc.. At 4:00 there were snacks which consisted of pancakes, waffles, pasterys etc.. The Pool bar was very good, you could get any drink at any time. Sunbeds are dofficult to get hold of, i had to wake up at 7:00am to save sunbeds which was a pain. There is a tennis court on site aswell. The Hotel is in the middle of no where, you have to walk a good 15 minutes to some bars, which are very greek and full of greek people,if your anything like us we prefer it comerlised and more touristy. You can ask the hotel for a taxi, we went to Govier which was about 5 - 10 minutes in a cab which cost approx. 10 euros, here was all your shops and bars, we went here 3 times and ate as the hotel food got too much. We also went to Corfu Town which was an experience, we went for late night shopping and it was VERY VERY VERY busy. We Walked round a few shops and ate in a restaurant which was very nice, and had some mc donalds aswell as we all missed our takeways! The Pool at the hotel is very small, you would of thought they would extend it as they have the space to. Overall a brilliant holiday!
Excellent hotel
from The_Perkins_family
We have just returned from our stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it, we are considering returning either later this year or possibly next, the rooms are very well presented and kept immaculate by the maid, the hotel itself is constantly being cleaned and the staff are friendly and pleasant, the entertainment for the children and mini club suited our 9 year old perfectly and she made so many friends there. The food was overall very good and the drinks were ample measurements. The beach is small but as you are free to place your sunbeds were ever you wish in the gardens this isnt a problem. If you are a family with young children or equally a couple I would recommend this hotel but it isnt somewhere for teenagers or groups.
Loved service manager ahhhhhhh
from kerrylovescake
We stayed early august with our 3 teenage daughters and my mother in law. Enjoyed our stay despite the very weak alcohol. Food was good but became abit boring after the third day as it was essentially the same daily. Hotel very clean and grounds were beautiful and very well kept. Majority of staff friendly and helpful although bar staff often ignorant, lazy and favored other guests and seemed to ignore the basis of first come first serve, and beach bar often left unattented. Reception staff were very inpersonal and often rude and abrupt, (told off for changing towels 20 mins after 6, instead of 6). However service manager in resturant was throughly charming and handsome, and had whole family (excluding my husband) weak at the knees. Animation team worked very hard, although not really our scene, the younger children seemed to adore them. Recommend this resort for young families as it has little evening entertainment but wonderful for a relaxing stress free break.
Iberostar Kerkyra Golf Hotel, Corfu
from Gaggywoggy
This was our second visit to this hotel in subequent years. Last year we had such a wondeful time we wanted to go back. Although the resort is not that close to any local shopping areas, there are limited facilities to enjoy, a ten pin bowling alley and a small supermarket are within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Larger shopping areas require the bus or a taxi. Once again the accommodation was excellent, very clean with daily maid service. We particularly liked the fact that whilst all of us shared a familiy room there was plenty of space and the kids each had a proper bed to sleep in. There had been some improvements to last year, there seemed to be more parasols and sun loungers available, all which are provided free of charge. The pool had also seen an upgrade with new liner and wooden decking surrounding the area nearest to the bar and eating area. The food was once again excellent and probably too plentiful to ensure a trim figure after two weeks. If you wanted to be overly critical the food, which is buffet style for all meals is on a repetitive cycle and therefore you will enjoy each themed evening more than once if you are staying for two weeks. We found the entertainment a little less impressive than last year, but perhaps we had been spolied. The beach (which is very small) and pool areas have lifeguards. This can lull you into a sense of false security especially if you have little ones with you as by and large they are completely ineffectual, it would appear that they are more for show than for safeguarding injuries. The entertainment programme is repetitive but is available throughout the day. More or less the same activities are done every day. The mini-disco for children in the evening is excellent and is held in a first class open air facility, however children from 9 upwards would probably not be interested. After the mini disco there is an entertainment programme which is an alternate mix of external acts, such as dancing or a magic show plus on other evenings the internal "Animation Team" also put on shows. All of these are very good. Overall an excellent holiday venue as long as you are not looking for a base to explore from.
Sack the Animators
from JimboLinbo
Went with partner & 2 boys aged 9 & 10 in early Aug 2006.. Positives - fantastic food (all day.) Great varietyof dishes, good table layout etc. Stunning views. Rooms cleaned daily, very clean hotel, friendly staff. Poolside sun loungers busy but massive gardens with plenty of sunbeds. Pools are clean & spacious enough except the frenzy to throw kids out when 'adults' got together to knock seven shades out of each other at water polo. Negatives - all inclusive drinks were murder, especially the wine & beer. Location a bit remote (10 euros into Corfu town by taxi). 'Entertainment' crap. 'The Animators' only succeeded in getting me animated with their frenzied attempts to get you to join in. Not sure every one is enthused by a poolside rendition of the 'Birdie Song' at 2.30pm waving your arms about frantically alongside our EEC neighbours. Quite bizarre some of their antics actually. Shingle beach which was about 12 inches wide isn't great. In summary, lovely hotel, stunning views, great grub, very clean, crap alcohol, crap entertainment. Definitely for families though.
good

We had a holiday here at the Louis Family Resort ( known then as the Kerkyra Golf Hotel )in Alykes Potamos, Corfu in 2007, and it was absolutely marvellous. We decided to book this great hotel again for a week from 06 May - 13 May 2011. This hotel is now part of the... more
