just returned from here - the now Louis Thomsom Family Resort.
Chose this hotel for the kids clubs and amenities having stayed at the exclusively Thomson one in Menorca last year. Also have stayed in Louis hotel in Cyprus and found it excellent quality.
Beware - this hotel has a long unlit drive leading to an extremely busy main road. The bus stops are outside the drive entrance but to get to the one that takes you to Corfu Town you have to cross this road. Not for the fainthearted, and dangerous for kids.
Booked as a party of 4 - 2 rooms, me and grandson (4) in one room and son and daughter in law in another. We were not allocated adjacent rooms, close - but common sense surely that we wanted to be together?
Rooms clean and comfy, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, air con and a fresh bottle of water every day. Tele had every nationality station except British!!
Hotel itself fine, food really good in main restuarant, plenty of choice, not always warm (as per norm in Greece)but there were microwaves available.not a lot for kids - dry nuggets, chips etc. Not enough staff at busy times to clean and replenish tables - especially at breakfast wher the tables seemed always to be set for just 2!
Pool bar serves lovely pizzas, salads etc and filled rolls, wraps, burgers etc in between. The all inclusive status as always great for liberal ice creams, drinks - and pizza!
The bar staff in the evening could have done with an extra body or 2, most times it was 2-3 deep. Tables were not cleaned and glasses collected, and the seating area too small for the hotel guest capacity, very lucky to get a table!
All the staff were friendly and helpful, as were the reps. There when they should have been, helpfull all the time.
we encountered a managerial decision to restrict evening family dining to between 1830 and 1930, then a half hour tidy up ready for 'couples' from 2000 - 2130, following complaints from older regular guests about the noise from kids!! needless to say that recieved a bit of opposition and most chose to ignore it. Discrimination against kids at a family resort??
Pool quite small for the size of hotel, we had problems getting sunbeds this early in the season.
And the 'exclusive' beach consists of a very narrow strip of sand behind the hotel - very disappointing.
Entertainment - well there basically was plenty if you wanted it during the day with games etc, but the evenings fell flat and boring. Grandson was not fussed on the kids club- he wanted to be outdoors. The evening kids disco was bit late starting at 2030 but he wasnt bothered if Thomson the dog put in an appearance or not after the first couple of nights. Nothing but silly party games for the adults after 2100 (reflecting the ages of the team), needed outside professional acts / shows to hold interest. We spent time in the bowling alley opposite for a change of scene. There were no other bars or any form of entertainment in the walkable vicinity to escape to.
The hotel has nice play areas for little ones with a separate covered splash pool set away from the main areas, but very little for older kids and even less for teenagers who wandered aimlessly about in the evenings.
Reading prevous reviews identifying lack of parental supervision at mealtimes and other times and feel I have to agree. Little ones were allowed to run around the buffet style dining room bumping people carrying food. Little ones were in the pool or wandering in the grounds on their own. And left to their own devices in the loos. Or maybe I'm just overcautious?
And there was constant tutting, grumblings and dirty looks from older guests about the influx of so many kids, which did put a damper on it a bit.
This Hotel seems to be undecided as to its status. Either its full blown Family Resort exclusive to Thomson, or its a Louis hotel with child facilities.
Potential guests should be made aware on booking what to expect.
It wouldnt be on my list of 'go again' at least not until it decides what it is.
- Advice: make sure you are aware of the change to a thomson Family Resort!

1st time AIC on Corfu it was fantastic for a family of 4 ( kids 6 & 9 )
Food is of a very good standard for adults and for the children, same goes for the drinks.
Try for a sea view room it was well worth the extra money.
Pool area again very good and not to over crowded with plenty beds this is due to the large grounds which are very well kept.Clean and safe for the kids to run around without any worry.
The animation team do try very hard to entertain you and the kids with little resources and provide a good kids club.
Gave this Hotel 9/10 and not 10/10 due to the beach im afraid it is poor but if you take a 10 min walk it does improve.Had it not been for the beach this could easy be a 5 *
Overall we had a great holiday and would like to come back again !

I have just spent a week here with my husband and children (ages 12 and 10). This is a lovely clean hotel, with very helpful and friendly staff and good facilities. The pool area was cleaned daily and the gardens were well maintained. The hotel run entertainment team were one of the best I have come across in many years. They were very friendly but not at all pushy if you did not want to get involved in any of the wide range of activities they put on daily. The shows at night were entertaining, for adults and children alike. The only downside is the hotel is on a very busy main road, with no shops nearby. However it only cost us 10 euros to get to Corfu town. We would go again!

Just back from a week at this lovely hotel.
The hotel was everything we hoped for with large comfortable seating areas inside and out, well prepared food, with a wide variety and excellent choice. The restaurant, bar and reception staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
The bedrooms were large with a well appointed bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities were available, we had a fridge and bottled water was left every day.
The large restaurant has both inside and outside tables and although the hotel was full we never had to queue.
The pool area was lovely and there were extensive seating areas in the grounds and on the small beach. There wasn't any need to rush down at dawn to put your towel on a sunbed.
The sea wasn't very clean as someone else commented, however I was more than happy to swim in the pool (a lifeguard was present from 10am to 5pm both at the pool and the sea).
There were plenty of sports activities through the day and the hotel had 2 tennis courts, table tennis, pool table, 2 volley ball courts, and a football area with goals. We never explored the children’s area, but it looked quite adequate, however as usual some small children used the large pool.
The only down side for us was the entertainment was quite poor. We went to the Traditional Greek night which was OK...although the mosquitoes were dreadful, the other nights entertainment included, the Strongman, Magic Show, Comedy Show, that kind of thing...we preferred to sit in the comfy lounge area and listen to the music or chat with a nice cocktail.
Corfu town and all the shops are nearby (a 10 euro taxi drive) but there were no bars or entertainment that you could walk to if you wanted a change.
We enjoyed a relaxing week here and would be happy recommending it, not too many children and a lot of guests from France, Belgium and even some from Russia made it very cosmopolitan!

My family and I visited this hotel purely for rest, relaxation, and family time purposes.
With this in mind, this hotel ticked all the boxes. I do think in part, the peace was due to the time of year, but also the hotel is slightly remote.
You do, however, have two bigger resorts either side of you should you wish to go further than the pool or beach!
The hotel, the grounds, and the rooms were all very clean and spacious. The staff were professional and friendly and the only time we requested help, reception sorted the query quickly. ( Nothing serious - a light bulb blown and an extra pillow needed!! )
Food was excellent and plentiful even for my two the children who aren't the best eaters!
Entertainment was good fun for all and the animation team were constantly engaging people in conversation and games!
My daughter liked the kids club, which seemed to be well run, but it was early season, and I fear that in the height of summer the poor girl might be quite over-run and would require another pair of hands!
The views of the Greek mainland and the port of Corfu Town were lovely ( get a sea view room -its well worth it ) and although the beach is narrow, it gives a welcome change of scenery to the pool area!
All in all, this was a fab holiday, I would recommend without hesitation if you require a little R & R!!

I am writing to complain bitterly about the holiday I and my family have had to endure at your hotel which was booked through First Choice holidays.
We expressly stated that we wanted a "beach" holiday with an all inclusive hotel located directly on the beach. The hotel had a pitiful beach measuring only 40 paces by 8 (for which I have photographic evidence). The narrow strip was also continually shaded from the sun by a small row of trees. No alternative beaches were located nearby as the side of the island you sent us to was known (as the holiday rep informed everyone on the coach during our transit from the airport to the hotel) not to have any beaches!. Indeed we had to hire taxis on 2 occasions to take us to beaches on the other side of the island to cater for the needs of the smallest 2 children in our party!
The kids club closed 2 days before our holiday ended and the evening entertainment was pitiful and virtually non-existent! Both shutting down early for the end of the season!
The holiday rep was not available at all after the welcome meeting and the contact number rang continually unanswered whenever we telephoned. We were forced to complain continually to the hotel staff who just shrugged their shoulders and took no action. They would not even advise us of any activities available outside of the hotel.
The food quality and variety was very poor- causing us to eat out for 5 evenings at an expense of between 90 and 180 euros per meal plus taxi fares to and fro. Certain foods and drinks were becoming unavailable as the holiday went on as the hotel was preparing to close for the end of season as such items were apparently running out of stock. Only bottled Pepsi and Sprite was available in the end- not exactly suitable for a 2 and 5 year old. Even a cup of tea was unavailable on the final day!
The children’s pool was filthy and unusable for our entire holiday apparently due to broken pumps in its filtration system leaving my youngest 2 children without a swimming opportunity.
The water sports (as shown in the brochure) closed down for the season after our first 2 days stay leaving only 2 pedalos for guests use.
The final few days were made worse as the hotel was gearing itself up for its end of season staff party! Indeed the guests were made to feel like second rate citizens during this time!
The final thing, which really rubs salt into the wounds, is that I paid £3102.50 for my family holiday when the brochure price is only £2514.00. Why have I paid £588.50 over the top?
We were recommended to your group and paid top money for a so called top all inclusive 4* hotel ( a 1* rating would have been more appropriate in my opinion) for what was supposed to be a relaxing, well organised, quality holiday, but instead had a horrible experience which cost me a lot of extra spending money to feed and entertain ourselves adequately. I feel that the brochure descriptions were totally misrepresentative. I have never ever complained about a holiday before but this was without doubt our worst holiday ever!

We had a holiday here at the Louis Family Resort ( known then as the Kerkyra Golf Hotel )in Alykes Potamos, Corfu in 2007, and it was absolutely marvellous.
We decided to book this great hotel again for a week from 06 May - 13 May 2011. This hotel is now part of the “Thomson Family Resorts programme 1st May - 31st Oct 2011 “.
Biggest mistake we ever made.
This hotel is not so much a hotel now, but instead is probably the biggest creche in Europe.
From the moment we arrived we simply couldn’t believe what was happening.
There are hundreds ( and I DO mean hundreds) of 6 year olds and under, running riot throughout the hotel whilst the parents ( intent on enjoying THEIR holiday ) completely ignore them. These parents have no consideration for anybody other than their selfish selves .
These children run wild throughout the dining room, lounge and bar areas, lifts, corridors and reception areas, screaming and shrieking at the tops of their voices.
They even poke their grimy little fingers into the food which is laid out for self service, one in particular taking great delight in poking his hand into 2 different jellies.
“ No Wayne (?) , you shouldn’t really do that” was the so called admonishment from the alleged parent
This dining room must be the only dining room in a four star hotel anywhere in the world, where if you want to enjoy your meal in a reasonable atmosphere, you have to wear ear-plugs.
One child , ( approx 3 years old) after playing and shrieking on the empty stage whist the multi tattooed parents sat out of sight at the bar, fell off and was hurt. It lay there screaming for a long time until the alleged mother came to rescue it.
There is no place in the hotel for decent people to have a quiet drink and a chat.
We gave up and went up our room…another mistake. The out of control children come screaming and shrieking along the corridor just as you are falling asleep.
However there is one good point….if you get up early enough to get into the dining room when it opens , you can enjoy your breakfast under what normal people would call reasonably quiet. The little sweethearts will be too tired out after their escapades of the previous day, and will still be asleep.
One quartet of people who had been holidaying at this hotel for 16 years were absolutely aghast at what was going on. Never again for them also. The thing is that they and the few other decent people at this hotel, will tell others about what is going on , who will then tell others ! I dread to think what this hotel will be like when the older children arrive in the summer months, Huge amounts of under age drinking no doubt, and probably even worse……
I managed to speak to 3 of the Louis group management team who were visiting the hotel and they seemed to be as appalled as we were by what was going on. I suggested that they immediately build a wall to separate the dining room and lounge bar areas into “adults only“. and “adults and children only“.
They didn’t have any immediate plans to do this, but it WILL have to happen if this hotel doesn’t sink without trace in a few years time.
In the meantime, I would suggest to any decent people thinking of going to this hotel, to get it in writing that this dreadful situation has been remedied in some form or other before booking.
