" Watch out "
Submitted By: Owen BartlesIf we had been aware of an extra cost on booking we would have paid it, but neither the brochure we booked through, the current edition or the Yhomsons booking agent showed any extra cost for this.
Our holiday was ruined by this noisy and small balacony (obviously the cheap seats in the hotel.
The room was kept clean by the Chamber maids but cooking facilities are cramped and inadequate, also the food is tinned that is served in the restaurant, we saw it delivered,
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR BOOKING, THIS HOTEL WILL NOT GO OUT OF ITS WAY TO HELP MAKE YOUR HOLIDAY ENJOYABLE, and its staff could do with a course in customer satisfaction
Advice: Beautiful place with lots of lively extertainment and beautiful beaches.
Activities: Varied
" Nice but wont return "
Submitted By: filthyfrogWe had early flight which meant we had to leave our house at 1.30 am so by the time we got to Brisa ((9.45am) having had no sleep we just wanted to relax in our room and catch up with ourselves unfortuunately our room was not ready, the rep had said they might not be, so we had to occupy ourselves until 1pm, I dont feel as though I have arrived somewhere untill I have unpacked and settled so I was a little bit restless, when our room was ready we were not dissapointed, we were on the 4th floor with pool view, very spacious room, nice and clean, the wife works in hotel so always checks cleanliness as soon as she gets somewhere. So to sum up, room big, clean, nice view.
The hotel is situated between the old and new towns, it has a bar and evening entertainment, we only had one drink in the bar and didnt see any of the entertainment so I cannot really comment.
It has a cake shop attached to the side which as other reviews have said do scrummy cakes, we sat here and tried them while waiting for our room.
All reception staff we came in contact with were helpful, polite and spoke very good english.
I cannot fault the location even though it is on a main road it was not a problem, there is a large supermarket next door and a few eating places opposite.
The walk to the old town they say is about ten minutes, I dont know as I dont wear a watch on my hols but its not far, the old town was not what I was expecting, there are plenty of places to eat and drink and I'm sure you will find one to suit you taste, the area has recently had the square and paths done up, watch the floor as it can be a bit slippy.
We didnt walk to the strip but went on the tourist train the first couple of times them taxi other times, tourist train 2 euros each, taxi was 3.75 euros.
So you ask while the title "nice but wont return" well the reason is this, and this is purely out opinion/experiance.
Firstly we felt although Albufeira was very nice there was something missing, felt a little bit like Spain but not quite the same level of freindliness/atomosphere, thats not to say people werent freindly, they were but something was lacking for us, as I say this is purely our opinion our freinds joined us the second week and they said they would go back no problem, for us we will go back to Portugal but not to such a touristy place ( we chose Albufiera because we had 2 15 yo with us this time) it wasnt Portugeuse enough for us but you have to sample these places before you can have an opinion.
Secondly, the pool was opened at 9am each morning and people would run to get a sunbed, we seen someone who had a dodgy hip and would struggle to walk during the day but boy could they run at 9 when pool was opened, now I know this happens almost everywhere but I just dont see the point when there were still beds left after the rush, I feel there are certain places around the world where this doesnt happen, it doesnt spoil our holiday but it annoys me and as such we shall be going back to the caribbean next instead of Europe.
So to sum up after all that babble.
1, Very nice hotel
2. Good location
3. Old town plenty of restaurants but also late night bars for the younger peeps
4. New town, I actually preferred it here as it was what I expected
5. Sunbeds 15 euros for two
6. Eating out varied from 45 to 100 euros for 4 with one or two rounds of drinks.
7. Drinks, depends where you drink,
8. Shopping, we strugled on our shopping spree to find something we liked, perhaps we're fussy, there are a lot of shops selling the same touristy things.
9. Sea, very cold but nice, nice beach, busy.
Hhmmm not too good at this review lark but I try.

Submitted By: Mrs M RussellRooms are cleaned on a daily basis, reception offer the traditional services as well as currency exchange and a "concierge" facility - recommending all sorts of activities and venues and can even book you an on site massage (in your room) with an excellent masseuse. I cant remember her name, but the lady working on reception during our stay was very friendly and helpful.
Facilities are more than you would expect - rooms are air conditioned, there is a tv in the lounge and bedroom, the kitchenette has everything you could need. There is also a more than adequate games room, outdoor pool table and fabulous outdoor pool. For 3 euros per person per day there is an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, steam room and jacuzzi.
I was disappointed with my fellow holidaymakers racing to claim sunbeds as if their life depended on it. The pool area gets sun all day - until 7pm. There is plenty of room to move out of areas that do get shade.
There is no doubt that I will return to the lovely Brisa Sol again - I just hope it's not too long.....

Submitted By: Mrs M RussellI thoroughly recommend booking a massage with their on site masseuse - who clearly knew their stuff & was worth every cent. We found the hotel staff exceptionally friendly & helpful which always makes a difference & enhances the holiday.
Our stay was in the last week of April. We experienced a day of rain, followed by a cloudy day - but then the rest of the week the weather just continued to pick up and reached 32degrees at one point! I will definately be returning as soon as possible.

Submitted By: Mrs K BellOnly one hiccup and that was the amount of people begging in the streets around the old town, not so much in the new end of town, and the fact that within 5 mins of dropping 2 of our sons sunhats and a teething ring they had disappeared!
Lovely hotel though

Submitted By: Mrs E Williamsthe briasa sol hotel is ok if you get it at a cheap price, it s loction is good as for visting the strip and old town as the little train stop s right outside the hotel , mush easyer to walk to old town its 5/10 mins down the road , which is where the beach is. but get the train to the strip it runs every 20 mins and is cheap, hotel does offer u food for the day for 17 euros each , buffet thru day and choice for eveing meal , there is a supermarket next door which is great , can but freash fish ,and i recommened trying the long sauges you can get for about 1 .80 euros in the supermarket , you will love them if you like meat , they sell wine from 1 euro and bottle beer for 25 cents.
our room 501 , rightat the top , over lookin mc ds n kfc not great but the balcony was so long you can both sun bathe, we got sun from 2 till 6 , and to watch the sun go down , was stunning. we booked a 1 room apartment was like a big flat , kitchen with toaster mic wave , 2 small cooking rings fridge, table and chairs, bath room had a super powerfull shower and hair dryer .the bed room has twin bed s but if you take some string and tie around the legs you wont fall thru, had tv in room with bbc 1 a channel that played films and a news and cartoon the rest not in english, o n a sport channel, had the same channels in the lonuge witch had two sofas that can be single beds they are great for sun bathing on on the balcony . we did nt realy think much of alburfire, the strip was mainly bars great if with ya mates , we did find an excellent resturant , i highly recommened for that specil meal , wild & co on the corner the next road down from where you are dropped off from the train, we did try 2 resturants in old town a steak house and the best fish in town one but i don t did nt think they we half as good, old town is full of resturants but there is men outside them all tryin to get you in , will not let you read the menu in peace,
the beach in old town was a nice sandy beach , good for a family holiday .
and the cake shop next door to the hotel is a must for them with the sweet tooth
" Good hotel, not a great hotel.... "
