Stayed at the Neptun Hotel for one week in May 2007. A fabulous hotel, superb food, excellent customer service in a fantastic location, right in the centre of Porec.
Porec is beautiful, very relaxed with a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops and no English breakfasts, fish and chips thank god. Who wants to go abroad and eat what we eat here - sadly the majority of British tourists!
Croatia is a beautiful country, the people were very friendly and hopefully it will stay this way and not end up like some of the Spanish resorts. Take the day trip to Venice - ferry leaves right opposite hotel and it is a fantastic day out.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Neptun Hotel or Porec to any traveller who wants to experience another culture, not an extension of our own.

1ST TIME TO Porec and we loved it, would definitely go again. Hotel is really good, but no air con. Plenty to see and do if you wish. If you want Benidorm type of holiday forget it. The resort has a good feel with a good mix of people. Not really sutible for the young who want loud music and discos. The Dutch, Italian, Germans were plentiful as well as the Croation people, everyone was friendly with each other.
The town of Porec is a gem, and plenty of boat trips to local towns. Try Rovinj very nice to visit.
