Good place to stay in Dubai
from isaSpain
We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. It exceeded my expectations of the idea I had after reading another oppinions. Good location, you may take a taxi but if you want, you can go walking to the abra station and the old city (souqs, museums...). Great breakfast, good meals at Arms Bar and nice beverages at lobby bar. About the room, we were upgraded to the executive floor, so our room was huge, confortable and well equiped. Not creek view on the other hand.
Very good service
from kartenluder
Service as you'll only find it in Dubai! Professional, helpful, with a personal touch. This hotel also has some very good restaurants. The breakfast buffet is more than one could ask for, everything about this place functions to perfection. Stylish lobby, great room, centrally located. Well recommended.
Best View of Dubai Creek
from celusnek
Stayed here for our last two nights in Dubai, August 1-3, 2007. Booked a good rate on the Internet (615AED) and upgraded (+200AED) at check-in because we really wanted a Creek view. The upgrade included access to the executive lounge serving non-stop beverages, continental breakfast, tea treats and themed happy hour appetizers with cocktails. There’s a computer with free internet access, had to wait my turn a few times. We arrived a little early and escorted to the lounge for the 30-minute wait for our room. Room 815 has a floor to ceiling view of the Creek looking toward the inlet side. The king-size bed has ample pillows, good quality sheets and night tables on both sides. We turned the little couch and chair to face the windows and watched the boat action on the creek for hours in the comfort of the air conditioned room. The bath room is average size, mostly marble (except the tub) and well appointed with many amenities and soft white towels. There’s an iron/iron board, two bathrobes, slippers, and a safe in the closet. The nightly turn-down service with delicate pastries is a nice touch. The breakfast buffet in the Vivaldi Restaurant is very large with regional and western style food. The fresh fruit is plentiful. Each morning there was a wait for the non-smoking tables. They need to catch on that most people don’t want to ruin their meals by breathing secondhand smoke…and make the smokers go outside! Otherwise, the service was good considering how busy. We had a meal in the English Pub. The food was good but took a long time (about 30-minutes) to arrive, perhaps because it was late afternoon. The concierges were not very knowledgeable about a side-trip to the Hatta Mountains. We were looking for recommendations of what to see and how to get there. They told us the only thing they could do is to arrange a car through the hotel’s service, which was very expensive. We found a taxi for a better price. One of the biggest draws of Dubai is the service. The Sheraton is doing a good job but has not quite reached the level of other hotels we visited. I recommend the hotel for its excellent view of the interesting action on the Creek.
A Most Pleasant Stay
from HappyFeet_7
We stayed at the Sheraton Creek for just one night whilst on route to Perth . After reading previous reviews I tried to cancel and change hotels but would have been charged anyway by our travel agent so we decided to stay albeit reluctantly. I have to say we were really pleased although it was only for one day and night. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We arrived at 08:30 expecting a long wait for our room but by 11:00 we had a fantastic Creekside room with King sized bed and found the reception staff more than willing to settle us in early and offered us a shower and rest in the health club whilst we waited. We eat in hotel's pub for lunch and the Italian for evening meal and both were good. Didn't make the breakfast due to an early flight departure. I never doubt other reviews but we'd defintely stay again and couldn't fault the staff or room.
Brilliant Hotel
from mmmw
We stayed here for 7 nights. What a lovely hotel. Beautiful room and very, very clean. Staff couldn't do enough for us. 3 restaurants in hotel, Japenese, Indian and Italian - an 'English' themed pub and a cafe in the lobby. Gorgeous views of the Creek from our room. Short taxi-ride to shopping centre/gold souk etc. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
Excellant Hotel
from Greg57
We stayed at the hotel for a week in early June 2007. We had a classic room overlooking the creek which was magnificant . The room was spacious, extremely clean and comfortable with a King bed. Each evening there was a turn down service. The breakfast was extremely good value for money with fresh fruit juices ( not the constituted rubbish so often served) and a good variety of choices. The restuarant ( as was the whole hotel) extremely clean and well presented. The staff were very friendly and extremely proffessional. The hotel has a very well set out gym with clean modern equipment. The pool is small but refreshing. The hotel is positioned well for the Gold Souks and various shopping malls. All up this is an excellant property to stay at for any period of time. We shall certainly be return customers and recommend this hotel to anyone wanting an extremely comfortable holiday.
Would stay there in future

We visited Dubai for the first time and am glad we stayed at the Sheraton. So many people have an opinion on Dubai and some friends were saying we must stay on the beach, others said we must stay in the city. I have to say, whilst the building work continues in Dubai, stay clear of any hotels south of the Burj. To say its a work in progress is the biggest under statement! We visited the Sheraton Beach for the day and were so relieved to be away from the noise and dust- yak. The breakfast at the sheraton is very good, you could opt for anything. The staff were mostly friendly. There are a few restaurants in the hotel and the Creekside Japanese restaurant was just fab. The sushi on sushi night never ending and such good value. The Tepanyaki chef was a real entertainer and agin the food was reasonably priced. also worth a mention is the cake cafe, the cakes/desserts were wonderful. I personally would not rush back to Dubai until they have sorted all the building works, but the Sheraton Creek is worth a visit.
Great location

I recently escorted a tennis group to Dubai for the Dubai Tennis Championships and was pleasantly surprised by the staff at the Dubai Sheraton Creek. I have to admit that I was somewhat hesitant about booking 8 rooms given some of the reviews that I read, but I was very happy by the overall total service in the hotel, the variety of food in the restaurants(especially the buffet breakfast), the attention to my clients that was extended by the staff, the location of the hotel and cleanliness of the rooms. As a Starwood member, I was upgraded to a Creek view which made my stay even more pleasant especially waking up to the spectacular view. I realized that our early arrival was not conducive to an early check in, but the staff tried their hardest to accommodate our group and most of us were able to check in by 12:00 pm. Though the hotel is an older property(recently refurbished), it suited our group perfectly as we were only a 5 minute taxi ride from the tenins stadium at the Aviation Club and only minutes by cab from the Gold Souk. It really is the only property right on the Creek so our clients were able to stroll along the Creek front in the evening. Since our group needed to be close to the tennis venue, a stay at the beach or even on Sheikh Zayed road would have been out of the question given the traffic problems in Dubai. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Terrible location and a disgusting filthy hotel
from samloves2travel
Avoid this hotel at all costs!!! I have just noticed my review of last week was removed - probably because it was so bad! Anyway, i thought i would give it another go and make it tamer!... This hotel was full of ladies that worked only at night (if you get my drift!) I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy (actually on 2nd thoughts!) ha ha! Seriously though- AVOIID. Feel free to contact me for more info. Sam.
Good Hotel In Good Location
from Cailean
Booked a seven night stay at this hotel with Last Minute.Com. The original booking was for a standard double room but we were upgraded to a creekside room on arrival. Check -in,despite being at two in the morning , was friendly and efficient. The room was of a good standard with the exception of two problems 1. The bathroom sink was more or less blocked but when reported a plumber arrived within minutes and sorted the problem. 2. The in-room safe did not appear to be functioning properly and despite being reported was never repaired. To be fair I never pursued the matter. The room had a superb view over the creek and it was a real pleasure just to watch the busy day to day life on and alongside the creek. We found the staff to be friendly and in general very helpful. Taxis were readily available day and night from the front door. We ate in the Italian restaurant in the hotel and found the food of good quality and not overly priced (Tried to get into the Indian Restaurant but were unable to do so as they were busy and we had not made a reservation). Breakfast was available up to 11am and the fare was varied and plentyful. (I was reprimanded for turning up the first morning wearing shorts - seemingly shorts should be below the knee!) The hotel is well sited for walking the city where there is plenty to see and do ranging from watching the Dhows coming and going to wandering the Gold Souk. Not sure if the five star rating is merited - more a good four star hotel in my opinion. Having said that, felt it was a very good hotel and good value for money.

What a fantastic hotel! Mainly used by businessmen but a good base for exploring the city and taking in the sights. We upgraded to a Creek View room, which is well worth the supplement. This hotel lets its visitors use the beach facilities at their sister hotel, the... more
