Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet Hotel

This hotel is worth a visit if only for the spectacular views over the surrounding conytryside from its elevated location. However, its more than that - its a refreshing break from the crazy prices in nearby Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Its an excellent property and they don't seem to have jumped on the bandwagon of rising charges yet. The rooms are clean and well fitted - everything works including the Internet system and service is unobtrusive. All the rave reviews about the magnificent views are true. Great road up which climbs nearly 1000m up Jebel Hafeet, lots of switchbacks and plenty of places to stop to take photos. The view at night to the lights of the town way, way below is stunning. Hotel staff are efficient however they want a 400 AED authoritisation from a credit card to cover "expenses". Had a very cheap rate for this hotel, i'll start with the bad... I booked a room which was advertised as accommodating two children in addition to myself and wife, only to arriviev to find a room with just two single beds. Upon complaining I was given two mattresses to put on the floor, luckily my kids are young enough not to be peturbed about that. Everything else was first class, the evening buffets were cheap and very good quality, alchohol is average price and the breakfast is excellent value. Mini golf great fun and good... more

Spent a week end there... me and my other half just wanted to escape from Dubai and have a relaxing week end off! Amazing view, lovely sun downer at the pool with a cool breeze...! The service could be looked into a little bit but bottom line if you r looking for a quiet place and a good deal definetly have to try it! It is true in the week end it does get a bit crowded... loads of families (85% expats from Dubai and Abu Dhabi) but well worth the detour!

We stayed at the Mercure for a quick blast of sunshine and some relaxation. We were seeking a quiet location and this really suits the bill. It does however get extremely busy over the UAE weekend so avoid this period if you're seeking solitude! On first impression the pool area looks reminiscent of a theme park with water slides and a bob cart ride over the mountainside but in reality, the weekend aside, the ample lawns and large pool provide a little haven. Gr8 hotel to spent your weekends especially if you r living in nearby cities or visiting these cities like Dubai / Abu Dhabi 2 hrs drive from these places. I live in Dubai and spent a night with my wife. Got a good deal of 75$ per night (ecxl BF) but it was really worth. The hotel has lot of recreational activities pool with water slides, mini golf, tennis, sqush, gym with Steam and Sauna. Amazing hotel, excellent views, modern, great mini golf. Only problem is that the nearest town of al ain is around a 20 minutes drive down the mountain, so you can feel a bit isolated. Otherwise this is the best hotel I have ever been to.

We booked this hotel online proir tro arriving in Al Ain and paid around £50 for a night including Breakfast, this at is turned out was an absolute bargain! The facilities on site are plentifull and should entertain both the energetic and sedentry alike. I can not praise the staff enough, they were faultless! from the check in clerk to the roommaids, everyone made us feel welcome and looked after. The views from the hotel give a panoramic view of the UAE for miles in every direction and add the relaxing environment. Enjoy!

The only hotel on top of Jebel Hafeet so if you want to stay on the “mountain” this is the only choice….which is actually a good since this 5 start hotel is wonderful. There’s not a lot of green on this mountain as it is more a rocky mountain, but the view is still nice and the hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere. The Grand Mercure is atop the Jebel Hafeet and around 30 kms from Al Ain. You can drive (or get a taxi there) from Abu Dhabi and will take around 1 and three-quarter hours but totally worth it. It takes 20 mins to get to the top of the mountain from the bottom, but I wasn't disappointed once I got there. From entering the amazing lobby (and you will be amazed!), you will meet the nicest staff who cannot do enough to help.
