Fantastic week
10 / 10
Jun 2011, Hass

We have just returned from a fantastic week at this hotel.
What a great place. The rooms are a good size and extreemly clean(As is the whole hotel!!!!Spotless). We are a family of four with two fussy eaters for teenage daughters, there was plenty of good food for all of us to choose from. The staff were very freindly and attentive.
There are two pools which are great, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Both pool bars have good snack food and drinks.
It is a fairly quiet hotel superb for a relaxing break,so couples and families will love it. Those looking for more nightlife and action would be disappointed.
All in all a great place. Would recomend it to friends and family.
NOW for my gripe. The beach is awful. It is not looked after and very narrow. There are no hotel facilities at the beach except beds and umbrellas, no bar or restaurant. It appears the beach is not cleaned. We went once for an hour but hated it so spend the rest of the week at hotel. very disapointing as we all love the sea and beach life.

I've just returned from a 1 week late summer break in Crete with my husband and young daughter of 20 months. As has been mentioned in other reviews the hotel itself is of a high standard, the rooms and communal areas are clean and well maintained as are the gardens and lower pool area. However the childrens play area is, in my opinion, very disappointing with broken and dangerous equipment left in place for children still to play on...maybe because there's not much else for very little ones to do; even the pools were very cold.
The food was good and the staff were on the whole very helpful and friendly.
The beach was close by and quite pleasant and the sea was gorgeous and warm so my daughter had somewhere to swim!
The hotel is out in the sticks so is peaceful but no good if you want a bit more action!
On the whole a nice hotel.

  • Advice: Wouldn't recommend this hotel to families with young children.

If you are looking for quite days by the pool and the same at night with average food which stay's the same most of your fortnight then this is for you.
The resort is Scaleta if you can call it a resort, there is your beach which is a 10 min walk from hotel and is not cared for, if you like laying and walking over butt's mixed with sand, no pots put a long beach for smokers.
One good point for the beach there's a lovely old man that come's along everyday selling donut's, please have one they are really good I promise.
As well as the beach you have a shop on site and one about 15 min walk from the hotel also 3 or 4 bars, which serve food all day down near the beach.
Staff in hotel are really nice except girl's in hotel restaurant. Which I ended up talking to manager about and got a very good response from him very understanding .. so I would say any problem's please do ask for the manager, he is very interested in what you have to say.
All incl at the bar finish's at 11. After that you pay for anything you want even a glass of water if it is not local you pay no matter what the time.
If you have children I would say it's a no go, not really much on for them. I found the hotel to be very clean but also very boring, not much to keep you going for 2 week's.
As for the Greek lesson's that are on the site I never seen or heard anything about them when we got there, also a lot of step's and hill, no matter what way you go, all around the hotel. I’m a young 40'' and found the hills and step's in the heat just way to much.
One more thing, go into Rethymnon, it's only about 20 min's by taxi and only cost 12 euro.
