Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Hotel

Nice business hotel in heart of the city. Nice upgrade to a suite, helpful staff. Food in coffee shop was good. Roof top pool area was fine for the 1 hour i had spare before my flight, but prob not good enough if you were there for a leisure trip. I'd definitly stay here again next time i'm on business in Abu Dhabi.

This hotel is at best average, it's far short of 5 star standard, especially in the UAE. The rooms (I stayed on 12th floor) are comfortable enough but in need of updating. The food is not bad, breakfast (both room service and restaurant) were reasonable but confusing restaurant options and layout make things confusing. Evening buffets are OK but lukewarm and fairly limited choice and expensive for what you get (90AED) with so many alternatives close by. The free drinks were limited to Corona beer or wine. An extremely big hotel, but we had good rooms and enjoyed our stay. A good range of restaurant/coffee shop options although restaurants tend to be expensive. Step out and there are lots of smaller cheaper restaurants all along the streets. Breakfast was good but again pricey...eat out.

Five of us stayed here in November 2006 after spending 6 days at Liwa in the UAE desert. The hotel is not easy to find if you are driving yourself. Although it isd on one of the main drags the entrance is on a back street. However once we did find it the welcome was excellent. cars were parked and luggage picked up in an instant. reception was equally good and a guest services manager helped us out with a one night extension which we had been told by telephone was impossible. This hotel has assembled a wonderful team: from Reception to bellman, Management to restaurant waitstaff - I was delighted by the friendliness and "extra mile" helpfulness of all the staff!. I'm writing this from the executive lounge at the Crowne Plaza, where they have compimentary canapes, high tea and all kinds of drinks everyday from 12 to 8. Plus the business center has free internet and associated business servcices (internet in the room or wi-fi is chargeable though). This morning started out with an impressive breakfast buffet (included in our price) where we found an array of breakfast foods. We have just returned from a week at the Crowne Plaza and it was superb from start to finish. The hotel was spotless, in a great location - ideally in one of the main shopping streets yet not too far from the Corniche and there was a good choice of restaurants both in the hotel, and in the surrounding area. Particularly recommend both Heroes Bar and The Garden Restaurant's all you can eat buffet, which are both in the hotel. We also tried the room service a few times which was excellent value for money. My trip was booked through work. I had a few options and the Crowne Plaza seemed ok. I knew I was only there on business so wasn’t expecting a tourist resort like Dubai. I would also say is that oil production is a lot more noticeable than in neighbouring Dubai. On to the hotel. It was unattractive to drive up to and I was concerned I had made a mistake and should have chosen the Beach Rotana instead. Just recently returned from a real nice holiday in Abu Dhabi, we stayed on the executive floor of the Crowne Plaza, the hotel room was excellent, clean and had everything we wanted. The staff on the Ex Floor are very friendly and welcoming, and can't do enough for you. I would recommend this hotel it is in a very good position, with Hero's the public bar on the ground floor and a taxi ride away from Beach Club Hilton well worth a visit with nice beach and pools and a lot of water sports. An excellent hotel located in the centre of Abu Dhabi within minutes of anything important in the town. I stayed on the executive floor and the staff there were very friendly and attentive. In fact this pervaded through out the Hotel. A good sports bar in the basement and different theme nights each evening on the ninth floor. The rooms were very acceptable and in general nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.
