Royal Ramblas Hotel

A small group of friends (3 doubles and 1 sgl) stayed at the Royal 30 Dec-04 Jan.The travel agent got us a great rate (110 Euros for 4 nts, 88 for the last). Location is great ! The rooms thay gave us with double beds were VERY,VERY small. I would compare it to a suite on a cruise ship. The bathroom could not fit 2 people at the same time. We were told that because of the rate, and the time, that was all which was available to us.I sort of understand. We were able to change for the last 2 nts to a normal sized room which was fine. We have just arrived back from a 4 night stay 28 December. The Hotel was in a fantastic position for all the sights and shopping. The atmosphere on Las Ramblas was worth every penny for the Hotel. The rooms were very clean and well decorated and comfortable. It was the best bathroom facilities I have ever seen. Modern and very clean (no black mould). We would most certainly stay there again. Staff were helpful and polite.

I stayed at the Royal Hotel in January of 2004 for New Years. The hotel overall was pretty good. However, not a whole lot of space if your staying with 3 people. It would have been adequate for 2 however. The staff wasn't too friendly when I requested two beds since we had 3 in the room. I checked into the hotel pretty early in the day and for one reason or another they wouldn't fulfill this request and would not give me a reason (maybe because I booked a cheap room rate online and rates can be high in the Ramblas area). Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Royal hotel on the Ramblas,excellent hotel,friendly staff. Even though it is on the Ramblas which is very noisy the double glazing does the job you cannot hear anything. well stocked bar in the room very reasonable prices

I chose this hotel based on reviews from this website and couldn't have been more pleased. It has a great location - right on the Ramblas and close to everything. The rooms are a good size, clean and sound-proof (just opening the window a fraction will show you how important this is!) and they provided me with a room overlooking the Ramblas as requested when i booked.

Right on the Ramblas, and next to the Pescadero market which is great. You won't find a better location. Hotel is clean and rooms were spacious (ours had a huge walk-in closet for some reason). I would stay here again.

Hotel Royal was a pleasant surprise on arrival in Barcelona. Located right on Las Ramblas it was ever entertaining right outside our window and not noisy with the window shut. Huge rooms, clean and modern bathroom, good amenities, supermarket a few doors away, fantastic local food market a few more steps away, metro close by. The only thing to complain about was the breakfast, it was ok and nearly good but not quite. You really had to pick and choose a bit. I would recommmend this hotel. Watch your wallet on Las Ramblas.

We had a lot of trouble selecting a hotel for our stay in Barcelona in early October. After reading the tripadvisor reviews and looking at the hotel website, we finally selected Hotel Royal for it's location and price. Got a room for 135 euros per night through our travel agent. Worth the money given its location. Staff were very friendly, and the room and bathroom were large, clean and quiet. It was easy to get to from the airport, catching the A1 bus to the Plaza. October 2004. Just returned from four days in Barcelona - 3 nights at the Royal Hotel. Best thing about the Royal is its location - 50 metres down Las Ramblas from Cataluyna Square. Nice reception, friendly staff, good small bar (spirits expensive), clean rooms and bathrooms (carpets a bit 'tired'). Rooms air-conditioned and with a free in-room safe. We stayed on a room only basis - 4 people can eat breakfast out for the price of one hotel breakfast. I would recommend the Royal.

My Wife and I have just returned from a weekend break in Barcelona. We chose the Hotel based on the reviews of this site and we weren't disappointed. Right at the heart of Las Ramblas and 50 yrds from Placa da Catalunya it was ideally situated. Only 10mins walk from the Waterfront, 5 mins walk from the Cathedral and the Gothic area.
