Abba Rambla Hotel

This is an excellent, modern hotel in a very central location. Having read some of the previous reviews I was a little concerned about area of the hotel. While it's certainly in a one of the more colourful parts of the city, some of the previous comments are perhaps a little over the top. I felt totally secure leaving the hotel on foot at 10.30pm and returning at 3am. It certainly was not necessary to book a taxi when leaving the hotel at night. We spent five nights at the Abba Rambla hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located very close to the centre of the city and the harbour. The hotel is modern, clean, reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. I am happy to recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

My girlfriend found Abba Rambla Hotel looking on the web. I checked Tripadvisor to see if there was any feedback and they were just ok. So we booked our stay (4 nights) there. The Hotel is brand new, the guys at the reception speak english and warmly welcome you giving you all the directions you would expect. Hotel Abba Rambla is a lovely new hotel just off the main Las Ramblas, in a very run down part of the city. Five females travelling together felt very uncomfortable in this area. Taxis everywhere, just to go round the corner.!! Hotel staff extremeley helpful, spoke good English, rooms were cleaned everyday to a high standard. A pity about location

Nice hotel. Fantastic staff who were friendly and always willing to help. A 3 star heading towards 4 rather than, as sadly is often the case, a 4 star drifting to 3. No pool or exercise area. Internet prices were too high but there are internet cafes at a stone's throw. It's very central but in a seedy area which is, if you worry about these things, its only really negative point. The hotel is in a dangerous location situated just off lower end of las ramblas. The hotel and it's staff could not be faulted however because of where it is situated would strongly advise a taxi be taken to and from the hotel after dark. When leaving the hotel during the daytime walk upwards to the left and along the 2nd street and not the first onto las ramblas.

Stayed for 3 nights in November. The hotel was excellent value and very centrally located.

The Abba Rambla was absolutely perfect! It was off the beaten path, but only a 10 minute walk from La Rambla--don't think you can get any better than that! We rode the Barcelona Bus from Gerona/Girona and then bought our 2 Day metro ticket(a great bargain) and rode to the Liceu Station on La Rambla and walked till we saw the sign pointing us toward Rambla del Raval. The Abba Rambla is situated in the El Raval area of Barcelona, a five minute walk for the Ramblas. It has recently undergone renovation and inside is more of a 4* hotel than the 3* it has been given. The rooms are clean, have massive beds, large LCD screens, electric safe and nice clean bathrooms. For the price you think there has to be a catch and there is. Folks, I hate that I took no pictures of this hotel. We booked it at the last minute out of desperation. I was very stressed that I wasn't going to be close enough the famous Rambla in Barcelona by booking here. HOWEVER, the Abba Rambla is located in the Rambla de Raval, which is only about five minutes to the middle of the Rambla. Take one right and you're there, even less of a walk to the major market.
