" Just come back from Rhodes and the... "
Submitted By: Miss T BryantThere is a good balance of night life in nearby Lindos with one of the biggest open air night clubs and locally in Pefkos the bars are open till late, and only a short walk away.
I noticed lots of families with children here. I went 1-7th sept and the weather was still in the 30`s! We hired a car which I think is a very good idea as the roads are not too hectic, and the beaches to find elsewhere are stunning!
The Lia apartments are very basic but do have a flat screen TV with limited channels. The rooms are cleaned every day by friendly staff. The bathroom has a shower and is a little temperamental at times.
The kitchen is basic with a small oven the size of a microwave with 2 hot plates. we managed to cook a roast chicken dinner though! The apartments are quiet but are at the top of a slight incline which wears you a bit, well it did me!
If you’re lucky enough to get a sea view it is beautiful. Anyway I really did not want to come home that’s for sure.

" Just returned to a very wet England... "
Submitted By: Mrs C DavidsonLia is just up from the main road, the drive is steep, so may be a problem for the less mobile, but not a problem for us even carrying our daily 5 litres of water!
The views from the balcony were magnificent, watching the sun set over the bay & mountains with a pre dinner G&T - the perfect start to the evenings!
There is a small supermarket at the end of the drive, and the Anixis taverna backs on to the drive (we weren't disturbed by any noise even when there was a wedding there), with 2 more supermarkets and tavernas within a couple of minutes walk.
Pefkos centre is a 10 minute stroll with the main beach about 20 minutes down (30 mins back) but we used the little beach by Kavos taverna - turn left at the end of Lia driveway and right at Nicolas taverna then 200 yards down a steep hill - the path from Kavos down to the beach is very steep so not at all suitable for the less mobile. The beach has just 19 umbrellas so get there early to avoid disappointment.
Anixis taverna is excellent, good food, good wine and Nikos, Christos and their Papa all made us very welcome.
Nicolas taverna was excellent food although the house wine was a disappointment there, Eleni taverna also excellent - they also offer Indian food (their chef is Indian), Nefeli is above a supermarket on the way into Pefkos, again excellent food & wine and really friendly staff, but not to be missed is a stroll back down the hill to Kavos to watch the sunset (if you can tear yourself away from your balcony a bit earlier one evening!) - it was the idyllic - Kavos is the epitome of the perfect taverna, tables scattered amongst the trees, shaded from the sunshine by vines, beautiful flowers, whether for freshly squeezed orange juice with breakfast, a leisurely lunch shaded from the midday sun or dinner watching the sunset - perfect!
As you can probably tell - we had a wonderful holiday and would certainly go back - even the TWO and A HALF hour transfer was well worth it.

" I stayed at the Lia 3 years ago,... "
Submitted By: Mrs M ClarkExcellent studio, clean and the maid so helpful, the fruit in the garden was a welcome bonus.
Beautiful peacocks stroll in every day as do the cats, good for keeping unwanted insects at bay.
There is room for parking the hire care which is a must if you wish to make the most of your holiday; you can visit other villages, i.e., Lardos which retains so much of the true village life.
One of the best places for views of Pefkos Bay. I have visited Rhodes 7 times, keep trying other Greek Islands but this one pulls me back, and Lindos is the most beautiful place on Gods Earth when you see it for the first time, it really does take your breath away.
The people who live there and in Pefkos all year round are very genuine people.

" We had a lovely stay at the Lia... "
Submitted By: bessieThe studios are located in the quite edge of the town (saying that, if you want to go to the noisy bars etc then it's an easy ten minute walk), but seeing as we wanted a quite relaxing holiday then it was ideal. Everything is nearby if you want it. The Lia are self-catering apartments, no entertainment there but if you want football, karaoke, excursions etc. just nip down the road. The nice thing is if you want peace you've got it. Lots of other accommodation is quite noisy and you can't escape that if you're staying there. One night, whilst sipping wine on our balcony, we could hear the distant strains of two karaoke competitions going on simultaneously. We didn't mind My, My, My Delilah the first time but repeated later down the road (much drunker) was a bit much! We felt for those staying at those places!
There are lots of tavernas around the Studios offering good food - our favourite was the Anixis just around the corner. Highly recommended. The people were lovely and friendly and always made us feel welcome. Food was good, generous and varied.
The other bonus was the Anixis taverna had a lovely clean pool area. As part of our package (we went with Olympic Holidays who we had no problems with) we were entitled to use the neighbouring Finas Hotel pool free of charge. However, it was always busy and noisy so we used to nip down to the Anixis for refuge. Buy a drink at the bar to be courteous, and enjoy a swim in the pool and the use of a sun bed. You could do this at many nearby places too. A lot of 'Lia people' went there it seemed.
The main beaches are about a 15 min walk away but we discovered a lovely little peaceful private beach to the east near the Kavos Taverna. That was only a easy ten minute walk (even more private bay just over the headland to the east). The sea was very calm and clear and warm. Good for a little snorkel.
Lots of restaurants - Nefeli is nice - good sea view.
Loads of little supermarkets within a couple of mins walk. They were open from 0830 to 2300 everyday. No siesta for them!
Taxi rank is nearby but the bus stop was about 15 mins walk into the town. A fun way to go to nearby Lindos is on the Glass Bottom Boat cruise. We had a gentle sight seeing tour out and a speedy trip back which was great fun. It was 16 Euros for the day trip. Taxi fare is 6 Euros one way. Bus is even cheaper. But boat is better!
We would recommend staying at the Lia again. Our neighbours said the same too. We liked it because we came looking for a relaxing peaceful stay and found it.
