This hotel was fine if you like to be close the action. It is only around the corner from the Ramblas and all the shopping and bars/restaurants, so its great if you don’t want to use public transport/taxis to get around.
The hotel is also very clean and the rooms are pleasantly furnished with the usual amenities (mini bar/TV etc). Breakfast was buffet style and while there wasn’t a huge selection it was still of good quality. Downsides- our room was tiny and seemed to be squished around the back of the hotel, looking at the layout I don’t think it was the only one this way. Also the room only had a shower and the bathroom itself was rather small.
Technically this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and while the decoration is nice etc I would say it was more a 3 star due to the size of the rooms. Next time I am in Barcelona I will stay a bit further from the tourist area and get better value.

Been here over 20 times in history over the years.
At first (1984) i walked into a 50 dollar/night hotel breathing a basic atmosphere, elderly men chatting playing cards at wooden table in entrance. Only one TV. Family run back then. It has the best spot in town. Staf friendly.
Over the years more luxurious (Best Western and more expensive). Well I dream of going back. Never booked in advance. They always fixed me up with a room be it the cleaning room or the bridal suite (same price).
Being near the city heart, plaza de Catalunya you are in for city noise. Don't bring your car, of no use. There is an expensive municipal parking nearby undeground the Plaza. Walking is faster then driving!!
There are hotels with more frills, this place however has something. Find out.
You can cross the Plaza and go up top floor restaurants of Corte Ingles store and have magnificient view and a selection of what you like to eat or drink. Outside the newspapers. Beware of beggars, fas nut shell tricks, and ramblas pick pockets. All fast foods around corner also.
Everything at leisy walking distance. The Regina lends heavy on the spot.
