Worse hotel I have been in, I was not able to sleep for
7 nights until 4.00 am in the morning, from the loud music coming from the hotel itself. Food was bad.

We stayed in the Mimosa Hotel in June 2010. This has to be the worst 3 star hotel we have ever stayed in. It has a prime location and you are ok if you manage to get a room on the front block. We were stuck on the back block. The rooms were very basic. Not enough towels... more

My partner and I stayed at the Mimosa on the 6th of August 2010. Our hearts sank when we saw the room, the beds were 6 inches off the floor, you couldn't fit them together and the pillows were the size of postage-stamps! We had to pay separately for air-con, a fridge and a... more

More Traveller Reviews of Mimosa Hotel

A very low budget hotel, not worthy of a star.
This hotel is of a very poor standard comparing it to others on the Greek Islands. The food is fantastically poor, with an even poorer choice and no flexiblity at all. The breakfast is not even a continental breakfast, no meats, cheese or eggs etc, having a choice of tinned fruit; crossaint; cornflakes;or yoghurt, anything else you had to pay for. The evening meals were of poor quality, all covered with the same tasting gravy gunge, with the vegetables grossly over steamed, If you ask for a scoop of ice cream to accompany the cake, be prepared for a torrent of excuses as to why you cannot have it. No fresh fruit was seen at the hotel in 10 days...ouch! We had to buy out. The hot water is turned off between 10:30 and 16:30, so if you take an early evening trip out, prepare to shower in cold water, brrrrrrrrgh! One of the barstaff tried to short change me on one occasion but I was alert to the trick. There is a lot of noise from the bars opposite, and also the hotel bar at the front of the hotel can kick out noisy bingo calling and karioke. The rooms smell fusty AFTER being cleaned, must be the dirty water we saw in the mop bucket containing cigarette butts. Lighting in the rooms at night is poor, a couple of 15w bedside lamps, so you wont need a book !! The staff are cheerful and helpful, but the hotel does not have that feel to make your stay memorable. Do not waste money on a seaview, the view is limited and you will suffer a lot of noise. Would I return to this hotel......never !!!! Trips out....Corfu town is a must, as is Paleokastrista / bella Vista etc for the view. Both trips booked at the travel shop up the road, 5 minutes from the hotel, turn left out the front, turn right at the 3 little pigs, agent is 100 metres down on the left. Do not be talked into the glass bottom boat trip at Paleokastritsa, it is quite poor, better to use the water taxis you see more. Overall, definately NOT value for money, would not reccomend this hotel to anyone.

The Truth About It 7 Out Of 10
well we arrived on the 18th september 2006 6 of us stayed half board breakfast was cornflakes ,crossiants, fruit or you had to pay for hot the hot breakfast was nice for 1.90euro the day we arrived we had lunch that was ok because it was our first meal at the hotel we didnt notice till the second day it all tasted of bbq all of it the lamb, the lasagna all of it oh and the meatball sause was meatballs and salt no need to add extra but for dinner the starters where ok the crab salad nice but the mains the same taste all week we only ate at the hotel 2 times all we could stomach we eat out most times but even then it was not to write home about i am not no posh snob but the rooms we not very nice they where ok and clean and the maids work there heart out from abut 7am -5/6pm all day and they are really friendly too! and all the bedroom furniture was mini the bed where big enough but all low down funny really!! all in all i rate it 7 out of 10 try the fiesta park benidorm spain its the best !! : )
Not As Bad As Everyone says
We stayed at the Mimosa is early sept 2006. We is two 20 year olds girls on our own. We arrived at 6am and the janitor took our passports, gave us our keys and showed us our rooms; he was pretty rude and grumpy but we figured it was 6am and no-one was feeling friendly. Hotel rooms are very basic but all you need for a week; however 2 weeks would be too much! Beds are not great; but you get a balcony, hot water and the pools are nice areas with a cool bar attended by George who is a nice friendly guy. The food... is AWFUL we managed two meals becasue we were giving it the benefit of the doubt but DO NOT go half board just stick with any of the restuarants along the strip because the food is cheap, and good. Mimosa tastes like;;; school dinners before Jamie Oliver. I would like to mention Mark, who is the english receptionist at the Mimosa, he was a total legend, really friendly and helpful particularly when i was a little bit il from the mosquitos. Generally the staff were friendly and helpful but Mark gets a solid gold star! Last thing which is unrelated to the hotel; but MAKE SURE you bring mosquito repellant because i got bitten like you wouldn't believe - my friend was fine but if you are susceptible to bites be prepared because i wasn't and it resulted in a trip to the drs! Anyway; this hotel isnt somewhere i'd go backto but for a week it was fine; pools are nice, rooms are ok; and its all about the town aound you which is happy vibrant and friendly! unless you are going to stay in your room don't worry too much!! worth a mention for people of our ages are; ice bar, falcons, babylons, Paros, take a minute to get to know the reps because these are the people that made our holiday what it was!!
dump
we booked with libra when we get to sidari we found out the hotel we booked was in the middle of nowhere so we ended up paying almost £200 extra to stay at the mimosa. we would have been better off staying in the middle of nowhere we might have had some sleep.the hotel was used at night as a race track.until 4am. there were children running round banging on the doors the parants have no control over them.the food was not worth going for.it was half board but they charged for just about everything what they didnt charge for you might have well bined.i will go as far as to say i wouldnt go back free of charge.so anyone thinking of going there get your money back, the shows they put on were a joke i have seen better in a holiday camp.the staff are rude dont want to help in anyway all they want to do is sit down.the beds are full of bugs.bit every night. and you have to pay for air cond, towels are thin you can see thro, apart from all that make your own minds up,
Good Hotel shame about the food!!!!!
We stayed at the Mimosa for a week on the 18th Aug, the hotel was good the staff was excellent. The only problem was that we booked Half board and the food was terrible - A dog wouldn't of ate it So we ended up going out for meal's every night. The resort was excellent and restaurant's were very reasonable. I would defiantly recommend the Roof Gargen Lee - Essex
Great staff, shame about the accomodation
Regular Visitors to Greece know that accommodation can be basic :-). However the Mimosa is basic, basic. I believe some operators even class it as 3 star accommodation. No way! Our double room was functional at best, i.e. a bed, a dressing table with chair, one small bed side table with lamp. Not even a kettle. We did have a large double built-in wardrobe though. Our room was tiny. Ok if you want to get intimate mind. Only one person could walk around the bed at once. The person sleeping on the wall side had to either crawl off the end of the bed or climb over their partner in order to use the on-suit bathroom. As is the norm (still in 2006?) a bin is provided for toilet tissue, and to shower you have to hold the shower in one hand and soap/wash with the other. Only the rooms on the front have any sea views. So if you want a sea view make sure you say so. Even then it seems a bit of a lottery judging by the disgruntled queue around reception some mornings after night arrivals. Anyway moaning over. This was our 2nd visit to the Mimosa. The main reason we went back was the staff. They were brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and always friendly. Our tiny room was cleaned, with clean linen and towels every day. The food is basic but adequate with the choice of at least 5 main courses (1 of which was a traditional Greek dish). My only criticism here was the menu, as with the entertainment ran on a 7 day cycle. So anyone there for a fortnight got the same thing twice, oh and please ditch the karaoke, or limit it to 1 night. Having mentioned our room, and how small it was, the room that the kids had was very spacious with enough room to sleep four, and more than adequte floor space. George kept the pool spotless, with the bottom clearly visible even at the end of the day. Plenty of sun loungers around the hotels two pools. A 400m walk down the street past the "boom boom bars" and "tat shops" to visit Vlasseros travel shop is a must (opposite the Three Brothers). So much cheaper than our rep's and such a nice boy! The hotel indecently is within earshot of these bars although we didn’t find it too bad. A word of advice:- We booked our holiday through an independent travel agent, who did us proud. On talking with other guests staying at the Mimosa at the same time as us, we found that we had only paid £300 more for a family of five than they had done for a family of three. This other family had booked their holiday through a leading high street travel company!! Please don't let this review put you off visiting the Mimosa as on the whole we enjoyed our stay there. Mick, Lynne and kids from Cumbria
great place to stay
on reading previous reviews i was a little concerned about the mimosa hotel and sidari. although due to the driver dropping us of at the wrong side of the hotel thus giving us a bad start overall the hotel was a pleasant place to stay. the staff worked extremely hard and long hours, and the hotel was cleaned constantly. the pools were both clean and the poolside service was excellent. we did have to change rooms after two days as the room we were in was directly above the entertainment and so would advise anyone going to check their room does not have a front pool view. the entertainment was good and the compare was funny, but if you are going for two weeks then you will get to see the same things repeated. the food was ok, the breakfast served until 10.00 am prompt so dont be late down. the evening meals again were on a weekly rota and the second week would be advised to eat out at least a couple of times. if you are looking for some real english cooking go to mikey inn as the food and service was excellent, also the chinese restaurant close to hotel was excellent, (left out of hotel and first chinese you come to). the beach was close and generally not too crowded, plenty of watersports. if you want to go to corfu town, try and get a coach trip through a local agent as taxis were expensive. sidari travel were very good and reasonable prices certainly a lot cheaper than thompsons. the yellow boat company situated on the beach have good boats to take a trip on and they are very nice people and look after you well. there were lots of mossies so would advice a jungle plug in in the rooms. also because of the noise of the bars at night could not have window open so would advise the air conditioning which was reasonably priced. all in all we had a good holiday very relaxing and made lots of friends,
terible holiday ever
What a terrible place. We book with Thomas cook for a week cost us nearly 2 grand. The service and food was so bad you can’t tell. I spoke to rep with total of 22 point 1- No hot water- no tissue for diner 3 you have to eat with dirty cutlery 4 glass can take only 100 ml of water and they include 2 cube of ice and selling it for 2.5 Euros 5 cornflake in the morning, no, rubber instead 6 bets of all Go-cart track next to hotel and run till 12.30 in the morning 7 Dog in reception and dinning aria wondering around and waitresses play with them 8 open surge 9 nail in public place all in all --- place to go
