Hotel Description:

The Mimosa Hotel was one of the first built in Sidari and is therefore situated in a prime location right in the heart of lively Sidari and opposite the beach. Run by a father and son team, the Mimosa is popular with guests looking for good value and a relaxing holiday. It may not be the Ritz, but you'll be guaranteed a room with air-conditioning (payable locally) and an evening menu offering home cooking that will always include a vegetarian option.

" Dirty Noisy Hotel "

On arrival allocated room 11 I was disgusted to find a dark dingy room with dirty bed cover and views that were like living in an inner city tenament and plumbing in the bathroom that did not work ran hot tap for half an hour but no hot water, water from the basin ran on to the bathroom floor. Got a move to another room which was better but basic, no facilities in any room no means of making a drink, kettle hire is available for 10 euro's. Food basic with little choice and on site entertainment was very poor unless you like bingo, Two good pool facilities and location to the beach could not be better.

Advice: Resort for young people with noisy bars running all night and up to 5am the next morning

Activities: None

Good for: Beach

" Nice location "

The hotel is located right in the centre of Sidari, close to the beach, shops and night life. We stayed for a week here and had only breakfast included, but we only ate twice here. It was not what I expected. They served only cornflakes, toast with jam and butter and eggs or beans on toast. Not impressed at all. However the hotel was all right, clean and tidy.

Advice: very nice place, nice beach and people.

Activities: Go to B.E.D. bar , the food is excellent, entertainment every night and the staff very friendly.

Good for: City Breaks

" not recomended. "

The main part of the hotel was clean like the reception and community area. But our room wasn't clean atall, dust everywhere & shower room was dirty, maid service wasn't good atall, had to ask for towels and sheets to be done. nothing was cleaned untill i complained whereas in most other hotels you wouldnt need to complain to have a reasonably liveable room. only saw the holiday rep once which was on our first day and didnt get welcomed just asked for our names and told us to check in and where to do it. Most deffinatly wouldn't go back to this hotel, very dissapointed.

" hotel old fashioned but sidari nice "

we were not sure what to think about the hotel from the reviews but when we arrived it was early in the morning and we opened the door to be met by the biggest and greenest wardrobe and the beds were like somthing from an army camp.
we got to bed or tried to anyway there were seven in our party and none of us were happy with the hote
the maid was very funny and pleasant as were most of the waiters although every morning the chef was out having a cigarette which was very off putting.
sidari itself was a nice enough place and the weather was good there was excellent night life and a good selection of bars we had breakfast in the hotel once and was very disappointed by the standard and we had breakfast out from then.
the front pool was dirty and you couldnt see the floor.
the beach is just infront of the hotel which was good and we were out till early in the morning which was also good because it was dark when we got to the hotel so it didnt look too bad.
the food was ok but there were more disappoining meals we were not happy with the rooms at all and the beds were like in a kids room.
we would go to sidari again but not in the mimosa i would rather be camping in tenby than in those rooms the only stars that hotel had were in the sky.
sidari good but not this hotel.

Advice: sidari is a nice place for the young and old alike

Activities: the bed bar and sea breeze and the beach was ok

" fab "

after reading the reviews before we went on hols didnt know what to expect but was hugely suprised our rooms were imaculately clean maid was in every day beds changed 3 times a week and towels every other day.Food at the hotel was lovely the waiters were great and the food was always hot. There was 8 in our party and all tryed something different each night, the menu was repeated after a week but we still enjoyed it. IF YOY WANT A FAB ENGLISH BREAKFAST go to the Sea Breeze Bar and get a hungry boy for 3.50euros that included english sausage 2 bacon 2 eggs 2 bens toms and a few chips, fresh orange and tea or coffee set u up 4 the day, they dom a fab evening menu also would recomend a visit. The beach was lovely and clean beds cheap 2.50euros 4the day.The pools were kept clean as we spent most of our time at the one at the rear.Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The night life was just across the road from our hotel which there was plenty off you had music bars with turns on and then u had kareoke bars also the rave bars for the younger ones.I could not fault our holiday we had a brillint laugh didnt get to bed till early hours in the morning. One thing i must say is remember to take some mosquito cream as they are every where and we all got bit by 2 out of 8 and recomend u pay 4 air condition. On my last word those who had bad things to say about this hotel must be very hard to please or must expect 5star where ever they go .

Advice: whatch out for the mosquitos as are every where

Activities: favourite place for food was the sea breeze excellent value for money

Good for: Beach

" Thomas cook  "

This is my first review on the Hell tell Mimosa within 5 minutes off arriving in the hotel we went to the room (819)and what a disgusting mess it was horrible old funiture squashed flys on the walls floors filthy and room stinking and that was the room,
As for the bathroom well this was worse pubic hairs round the tiolet and on the shower base walls all filthy no working lights and horrid dirty shower curtain also the mirror was a rusty old thing that should never have been up in the first place.
I went back too reception and told them iwas not happy with the standards of the room and the reply was from Emma what do you expect from a two star hotel and if i wanted to complain then do so to the rep not them.
however we were given another room this time only slightly better this time (312)and had 5 whole euro knocked off the air conditioning charge this time the room was all damp and still dirt on the walls we had a maid change the rooms when she felt like it then 2 day before the end we were offered a third room due too a machine on the roof shaking loose so they say and kept us awake all night as well as the room fill with bugs ( i have never been bitten on holday ever.
now as for the food this was very touch and go the staff were generally pleasent except for Emma the receptionist.
overall Sidari is a very nice area and friendly people in all off the bars we visited.
So i say visit Sidari YES stay at the Mimosa never this should be taken out off any Brochure and never entered again.

Advice: Visit Sidari just use another hotel

" Mosquitos the only bug!!! "

Just returned from a fortnight at hotel Mimosa and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The hotel staff, especially reception, were very friendly and most helpful at all times. The food was also very nice with plenty of choice for everyone. The maid service was second to none, cleaning our room every day and changing our towels every day and bed sheets every other day. Only down side with the Mimosa was the extra charge...5 euro per night air conditioning (a must!) 25 euro for safe, and fridge / kettle also extra. Situated very close to nightlife and beach is literally across the road! All the greeks are very friendly with no pressure to visit the pubs or to buy from their shops...bliss. Only fault with holiday was the MOSQUITO problem!!!! Be well prepared if visiting Sidari.

Advice: Very friendly

Activities: Sea Breeze

" Great Location, Ok Hotel, Not So Good Food! "

This is one of the best hotels in Sidari for location.
It takes literally 10 seconds to walk to the beach.
And It is right at the start of the strip.
As there was a group of 10 of us while half of us was waiting for the others to get ready we would cross the road and start of the night in Babylon.
The hotel doesnt have much entertainment itself except for Greek Night and Bingo! but doesnt have some good offers on drinks on a Sunday night. which would be good to start off on.
The food at the hotel was average. There wasnt much choice and the menu was very repeatative. if your there for two weeks the menu is the same every week. chicken and beef was on the menu all nights, as was soup and a traditional greek dish. was ok for the money but we chose to eat out a few nights to vary it.
the menu is up in the mornings in reception so you can decide whether you want to eat in or not.
the waiters were rushed. rushed orders. only one waiter asked if we wanted drinks. however the food was brought quickly after ordered. which made us think the food was alredy cooked and just waiting for someone to order it.
id recommend groups for larger the 6 to eat elsewhere as the biggest table in the hotel restraunt is 6 and we had to use 2 tables so we couldnt all eat together as they wouldnt let us put the tabled together.
breakfast wasnt the best. the cereal was soggy, and jam didnt taste like jam and the orange was too watery and the beans tasted funny. but the scrambled egg and greek yogurt was good. there was also a choise for full breakfast for 3euro.
however every morning we went down to B.e.d bar where they do the most amazing BIG breakfast for 2.80 euro. filling us up until tea time.
There are two swimming pools at the hotel. one at the front and one at the back with plenty of sun loungers. the pools are good. and if you get fed up of the pool the sea is just across the road.
the reception staff and bar staff were really nice. giving us all the information we needed and wishing us a save journey etc.
the rooms was average. better then i expected after visiting Zante in previous years. Maid service everyday. however they didnt mop are floors until the 2nd to last day!! but except for that did a good job. the 3rd bed in our room was a camp bed and a very bad one that that, we had to get an unused mattress from another room and put that on top of the one on the camp bed aswell with blankets to soften it up.
had an amazing view from our balcony, the pool, the beach and the strip however another room from are party who was at the back of the hotel had a view of a roof! and a building.
was a good hotel in total for the time we spent there. the food could have been better, but the location was excellent!

Advice: Sidari is lovely. The People There Are really nice. the clubs and bars cater for everyone.

Activities: bed bar amazing for breakfast, calypso, falcon, ice, and casers best bars/clubs on the strip.

Good for: Beach

" Disgusting,.. "

Ive never wrote a review on any off my holidays before, but i felt there was a need to write this to let other people know what this hotel was like!! Corfu itself is a beautiful country, there was nothing that i seen wrong with it. The foof is lovely there was such a variety! Although not at mimosa!! Im glad i was only there for a week or i would have got a flight home early! The rooms weren't the worst thing about the hotel although they weren't the nicest i know it was only a 3 star but come on like!! I wouldn't have even gave it a 1 star! The thing that bothered me the most about the hotel was the food! I have never seen such filth in my life! At mornings for breakfast there was a few cereals left lying open to all the flys with the warm milk beside it! Another thing was that if you wanted a fry or bacon you had to pay and order for it!! All the dishes and cutelry were so dirty, we actually had to polish it before we ate! At night during dinner it is very cramped with only 3 waitors running around with the sweat dripping off them!! And as they approached us with our dinner they gave us our knifes and forks out of their pockets!! It was a disgrace. For dinner you have the choice of 3 starters and 4 main course which u have to choose and order! If it wasn't for the place across the way i think we would have starved! Coming back to the room again. you had to pay for your air conditioning which was very expensive, 70 euro!never mind the fact that when you turn it on a pile of misqutos come flying out of it!! We were torchured with them!! And i have never been bit before in my life until then! The bathrooms are very small. there is very little water pressure in the shower and taps! Also the hotel is situated right on the main strip, at night there is blaring music coming from the night clubs and bars which is only metres away! I hope i have helped with your choice to stay here! Although if you want to stay in Corfu try this Hotel (Mittsis Hotel) its beautiful up there 4 star and quite cheap! :)

Advice: Its a lovely town!

Activities: Renting out the yellow cab boats!

" Fantastic location "

This hotel is situated on the main street of Sidari. Clean hotel, good food, menu changed daily with 3/4 choices for starter and main. 2 main pools, 2 children pools, entertainment every night - cant comment on quality as went to main street every night. Would definately go back to this hotel. All reception staff are english and other members of staff spoke very good english. Beach across the road for hotel.

Advice: Beautiful and lively for both families, couples and friends.

Activities: Bed Bar has the best entertainment every night in Sidari including nightly quizzes

" Very enjoyable holiday "

We stayed at the Mimosa hotel for 2 weeks and had a lovely time.On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist(Emma)who checked us in . Luckily enough we were in the building at the front. The room was basic but clean and tidy. After a few days we had a bit of bother with hot water and wc,reported it and it was dealt with immediately. A couple of days later the same thing happened and the Manager kindly suggested that we moved to another room which was in fact an even better room. After that we had no problems whatsoever and because of the inconvenience the manager gave us free air conditioning for the rest of our stay. The Incident was dealt with efficiently of which we had no complaints.
Enjoyed all our meals. Breakfast was various cereals ,toast with either beans or scrambled egg or yoghurt and honey. As much tea /coffee as you liked The option was there to have a cooked breakfast for the cost of 3 euros. I had a cooked breakfast on my last morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. For Evening meals there was a choice of 3 starters and 4 main courses and sweet of the day I always opted for soup to start as it was always piping hot for the rest if anyone could not find anything to their liking they must be very hard to please . The waiters were very helpful and amusing.
The location of the hotel was excellent with all the entertainment on your doorstep and the beach just across the road. Sidari was a good base to see the island. We done a few trips but found doing them with Phillip (just along the road) a lot cheaper than with Thomas Cook. Paleokastritsa and Kassiopi is a must, Corfu old town and a trip on a glass bottom boat were also enjoyed.
Overall great holiday and will certainly be returning. Lastly just like to say hello to all the people we met on our break and a thank you to everyone at the Mimosa.

" WORST ACCOMODATION EVER "

I am truly amazed to see any good reviews at all about this hotel.
In the six nights I was there I had to change my room three times due to things such as:
(a) toilet not working
(b) cold water not working
(c) the apalling accomodation offered but declined.
I was one of eighteen people on this group holiday and we were all affected by problems of this nature, so it was not an isolated incident!
I also had to lodge a complaint that an argument raged one night lasting about an hour or more (this was next to my third room).
What made it worse for us was the fact that when any of us complained, we were greeted with a smirk from one particular female behind the front desk.
Add to that that we had to ask for lights to be replaced in the lift because they weren't any and the same thing applied to the ground floor public toilets. There was often no soap in the toilets too. There were no locks on the toilet doors. Many of us went home covered in bites we suspect were not all from mosquitos.
Anyone still contemplating staying there should know that there are two main buildings. The accomodation/decor in the front building (nearest the road) is far superior to the rear building!! That said, the problems above still applied.
Ignore this warning at your peril.

" 2 great weeks in a clean welcoming... "

2 great weeks in a clean welcoming hotel. Location was A1*, room A1, air conditioning that was quiet and worked well, the room was cleaned every day, fantastic view, 4star value at 2star price. The evening meal was very good and you had a choice of 4 starters and 4 mains, what more could you ask for? It would be unfair to name any one of the staff to praise, as they all made my stay a great experience, my thanks goes to all of them. The evening entertainment was not always to my taste, but gave me a smile anyway. Would I go back? YES, I would and enjoy the whole experience again. Sidari has much to offer in good clean sandy beaches, having many good bars and clubs within a short walk from the Mimosa, so no matter what your requirements are, you will find enjoyment there.
