Ive never wrote a review on any off my holidays before, but i felt there was a need to write this to let other people know what this hotel was like!! Corfu itself is a beautiful country, there was nothing that i seen wrong with it. The foof is lovely there was such a variety! Although not at mimosa!! Im glad i was only there for a week or i would have got a flight home early! The rooms weren't the worst thing about the hotel although they weren't the nicest i know it was only a 3 star but come on like!! I wouldn't have even gave it a 1 star! The thing that bothered me the most about the hotel was the food! I have never seen such filth in my life! At mornings for breakfast there was a few cereals left lying open to all the flys with the warm milk beside it! Another thing was that if you wanted a fry or bacon you had to pay and order for it!! All the dishes and cutelry were so dirty, we actually had to polish it before we ate! At night during dinner it is very cramped with only 3 waitors running around with the sweat dripping off them!! And as they approached us with our dinner they gave us our knifes and forks out of their pockets!! It was a disgrace. For dinner you have the choice of 3 starters and 4 main course which u have to choose and order! If it wasn't for the place across the way i think we would have starved! Coming back to the room again. you had to pay for your air conditioning which was very expensive, 70 euro!never mind the fact that when you turn it on a pile of misqutos come flying out of it!! We were torchured with them!! And i have never been bit before in my life until then! The bathrooms are very small. there is very little water pressure in the shower and taps! Also the hotel is situated right on the main strip, at night there is blaring music coming from the night clubs and bars which is only metres away! I hope i have helped with your choice to stay here! Although if you want to stay in Corfu try this Hotel (Mittsis Hotel) its beautiful up there 4 star and quite cheap! :)

This hotel is situated on the main street of Sidari. Clean hotel, good food, menu changed daily with 3/4 choices for starter and main. 2 main pools, 2 children pools, entertainment every night - cant comment on quality as went to main street every night. Would definately go back to this hotel. All reception staff are english and other members of staff spoke very good english. Beach across the road for hotel.

We stayed at the Mimosa hotel for 2 weeks and had a lovely time.On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist(Emma)who checked us in . Luckily enough we were in the building at the front. The room was basic but clean and tidy. After a few days we had a bit of bother with hot water and wc,reported it and it was dealt with immediately. A couple of days later the same thing happened and the Manager kindly suggested that we moved to another room which was in fact an even better room. After that we had no problems whatsoever and because of the inconvenience the manager gave us free air conditioning for the rest of our stay. The Incident was dealt with efficiently of which we had no complaints.
Enjoyed all our meals. Breakfast was various cereals ,toast with either beans or scrambled egg or yoghurt and honey. As much tea /coffee as you liked The option was there to have a cooked breakfast for the cost of 3 euros. I had a cooked breakfast on my last morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. For Evening meals there was a choice of 3 starters and 4 main courses and sweet of the day I always opted for soup to start as it was always piping hot for the rest if anyone could not find anything to their liking they must be very hard to please . The waiters were very helpful and amusing.
The location of the hotel was excellent with all the entertainment on your doorstep and the beach just across the road. Sidari was a good base to see the island. We done a few trips but found doing them with Phillip (just along the road) a lot cheaper than with Thomas Cook. Paleokastritsa and Kassiopi is a must, Corfu old town and a trip on a glass bottom boat were also enjoyed.
Overall great holiday and will certainly be returning. Lastly just like to say hello to all the people we met on our break and a thank you to everyone at the Mimosa.

WORST ACCOMODATION EVER
2 / 10
Jun 2009, Easy going person

I am truly amazed to see any good reviews at all about this hotel.
In the six nights I was there I had to change my room three times due to things such as:
(a) toilet not working
(b) cold water not working
(c) the apalling accomodation offered but declined.
I was one of eighteen people on this group holiday and we were all affected by problems of this nature, so it was not an isolated incident!
I also had to lodge a complaint that an argument raged one night lasting about an hour or more (this was next to my third room).
What made it worse for us was the fact that when any of us complained, we were greeted with a smirk from one particular female behind the front desk.
Add to that that we had to ask for lights to be replaced in the lift because they weren't any and the same thing applied to the ground floor public toilets. There was often no soap in the toilets too. There were no locks on the toilet doors. Many of us went home covered in bites we suspect were not all from mosquitos.
Anyone still contemplating staying there should know that there are two main buildings. The accomodation/decor in the front building (nearest the road) is far superior to the rear building!! That said, the problems above still applied.
Ignore this warning at your peril.

2 great weeks in a clean welcoming...

Oct 2008, Mr D Greaves

2 great weeks in a clean welcoming hotel. Location was A1*, room A1, air conditioning that was quiet and worked well, the room was cleaned every day, fantastic view, 4star value at 2star price. The evening meal was very good and you had a choice of 4 starters and 4 mains, what more could you ask for? It would be unfair to name any one of the staff to praise, as they all made my stay a great experience, my thanks goes to all of them. The evening entertainment was not always to my taste, but gave me a smile anyway. Would I go back? YES, I would and enjoy the whole experience again. Sidari has much to offer in good clean sandy beaches, having many good bars and clubs within a short walk from the Mimosa, so no matter what your requirements are, you will find enjoyment there.

Oct 2008, Other Lynda

I had 2 weeks in sept at the Mimosa,I couldn't say anything bad about it.The staff were really friendly & helpful from reception, bar staff, cleaners, waiters even the management, they couldn't do enough for you & nothing was too much trouble.
The evening meals were great,a choice of 4 starters & 4 main courses each night + a dessert. The reviewers who moan about the food are expecting 5* meals from a 2*hotel,pay 5* prices if that's what you want! There's entertainment every night & the rooms were spotless & cleaned every day.Location is great, right opposite the beach & a short walk to the local bus stop to Corfu Town & Roda, all shops & amenities are within walking distance.
There are 2 pools on site which are cleaned every day, games room, internet access, everything that you could possibly want.
You get what you pay for & I certainly had my money's worth!!
This hotel should be at least 3* & I shall certainly be going back there, have already booked to take the family there next year.

Rubbish Hotel, Rude Staff, Place...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss S Lane

Rubbish Hotel, Rude Staff, Place stinks too, you cant miss the wet patches of sewage sprawling across the floor in the back yard heading towards the second part of the Hotel, Swimming pool had a film on suntan lotion on the top of it my guess it never got cleaned, Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in, the food was awful looks like its the left overs from the night before heated up and stuck on a plate!!
The whole place is a sham, if you want our advice head to a different hotle, Sidari is a very fun place though Madisons bar offering great entertainments throughout the season.
JUST DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL all the reviews you read about it are true especially the bad ones!!!

With trepidation we entered Mimosa...
10 / 10
Sep 2008, Mrs S C Hitchings

With trepidation we entered Mimosa Hotel having read mixed reviews but were very pleasantly surpised. Our room (302) was large, well furnished, large balcony with furniture and directly across from the beach so had great views of Albania, the beach and "the strip". The shower room was newly fitted and although was small it was perfectly adequate and had a very good hairdryer. Some of our towels were changed every day ( no obvious reason why she took some and left others!!! ) and the room was cleaned every day. All the staff were very efficient and very pleasant too.
The hotel food was better than we expected.... we would have liked to have had some fresh bread rolls at breakfast though.... but I highly recommend the Greek yog and honey.. yum yum. The eve selection offered 4 choices of starters, 4 main courses ( always including a traditional/local choice ) and a desert was given each night ( no choice ). Would have liked some fresh fruit but only tinned was on offer at breakfast. We never got to use the main pool as the weather was against us ( thunder, lighteneing and rain for 3 of our seven days, and strong winds held for longer ) but it looked ok. The front pool could have been better maintained though... a little slimey in parts.
I have no idea what the self-catering appts. were like but our room and hotel experience was fine and indeed good value.
We chose to pass on the air con as we thought it expensive at 35 euros. We paid the 20 euros for the room safe which gave peace of mind.
Being 57 & 60 from rural Wales, we did find the relentless noise of the strip a bit tiresome. We would have liked to have sat out on the balcony with a good book and a nice glass of something.... it was simply too noisy with competing karaokes, the go-carts next door ( sounded like everybody was cutting their grass at the same time! ), and the motorbikes on the main road just below us! Thank God for ear plugs, double glazed patio doors and beds that were comfortable enough to get into!
We always hire a car as I have a slight disability. We booked beforehand via the internet and picked up our air conditioned car at the airport at 8am when the office opened. Waiting on the airport is not a problem as there are plenty of facilities to eat, drink, sit etc. The car cost us £113 for the week. Transfers would have cost us £80..... it's a no brainer as far as we are concerned.
The bad weather didn't hold us back as we were able to get out and about and up and down fascinating mountains with amazing views etc.
We had a great week despite the weather.
We would certainly return to the hotel if it wasn't in Sidari..... too noisy and British for us.
We presume the hotel must have been "done up" or some people simply seem to enjoy grumbling!!!
For people who don't mind a bit of noise, it's a great place to be.
The hotels website has a link to a Hungarian made video of the hotel. Worth a look as it shows you all around the hotel. www.mimosahotelcorfu.com ( I think .... I Googled "mimosa hotel" and found it)
Hope this is useful. Love Susie x

Sep 2008, Mr Cj Ketteman-Miles

Just visited the mimosa hotel in sidari. i was a bit worried because it has had mixed reviews but i have to say i am so glad i chose this hotel. the food was great and the accomodation although basic was pleasent. the maids were in everyday and kept things very clean and all the staff from maids to reception managers were welcoming and freidnly. if you have heard bad reviews and think that you will not visit this hotel i urge you to reconsider because you will have a great time. Current prices in corfu for fags is 28euro's per 200 and beer is just 2 euro's a bottle from most bar's and if you want a different drink you can pick up a cocktail for around 3 euro's. also try the supermarkets my dad picked up a bottle of wiskey for 5 euro's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are now looking into buying a bar in sidari and moving there so if you are visiting next year pop along to canal d mor and look out for a british bar open near the bridge if you mention this post you can have a free shot !!! see ya next year

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss S BEAUDRO

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, the only good thing about it was the location ... Sidari itself is buzzing, and would definitely go back, but not to the Mimosa Hotel!! The food was awful, me and my friend ate out most nights, and went out for Full English Breakfasts every morning to avoid taking about 10 mins to make ya own toast!! And as for having to pay extra for a full english at the hotel, what was the point of going Half Board?!!!! It smelt of sewage, and the rooms left a lot to be desired, even had to make own bed ...
Go to Sidari, but not this Hotel!!
