We booked into Anna-Aparthotel for 10 nights. After the first night wwe went off to find another hotel as it was horrible. Its true that you get what you pay for but there is surely a standard?

Very Basic - Lovely staff & great food
5 / 10
Sep 2010, Naz

We had booked an apartment for 4 people, we arrived at 3am to an apartment containing two single beds and looked like something out of the 70's! The next day the manager happily moved us across to the hotel side of things which is much more pleasant although remains basic. He charged extra for this, during our long stay we spoke to other guests who had transferred from a hotel room to an apartment and he had charged them more for the move to the apartments. Throughout the stay the manager tried to get money out of us wherever possible although he did let his hair down every so often, but watch out for the grumpy wife!
The chef is lovely and his food is fantastic, all other staff were very friendly and will go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome. All this place needs is to be re-decorated and cleaned up a little. The pool was great and the gardens had some nice hidden dens. The bar at night is nice and we didn't feel the need to head out to the bigger bars, wouldn't stay there again unless it's had a refurb but would definitely go for a drink and bite to eat

Basic but pleasant stay...

We have just come back from a weeks stay at The Anna Aparthotel. The rooms are small and very basic. My friends room had damp all over the wall next to her bed. Throughout the apartment/rooms there was a musty smell. Although our bed linen was changed at least 3 times that week, our towels were not but luckily we had our own. The food was brilliant and the chef was always very pleasant and helpful. The bar staff were lively and entertaining. The manager needs to lighten up, and review his bar prices as drinks were expensive. I highly recommend that the Spa 200 yards up the road should be avoided, I have been to Turkey several times and had a Turkish bath and massage however this time I felt the massage was very uncomfortable as my dignity was thrown out of the window. Myself and 3 other friends were stripped off and the male staff tried to take advantage. Please do not go there especially younger girls. All in all our holiday in Fethiye was enjoyable but our Spa experience left a bitter taste.

Couldn't believe our luck.....

Jul 2010, Ruth Liverpool

Just back from a wonderful weeek in Calis, made even more fantastic by our experience at the Anna.
We just couldn't believe our luck, arriving at this lovely, friendly, family run hotel
- great staff who couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was perfect
- relaxing pool area and decent size pool
- beautiful gardens, ideal for chilling out and relaxing in the shade
- lovely bar with a good size TV to enjoy the World cup and decent music .....most of the time :)
- excellent food, freshly prepared by the chef who always has a smile and obviously really cares about your enjoyment of what he has prepared for you
- really convenient, being just a short and very pleasant walk down to Calis beach, bars and restaurants
The accomodation is basic, but clean and always cool, despite the hot July sun. Didn't even need the air con, even though it was available.
This was unbelievable for what we paid, value for money doesn't even begin to describe this holiday.
Thank you to everyone at the Anna, we will be back as soon as we can

Don't Stay There

If you are planning a holiday to Turkey and are persuaded to book your accommodation at the Anna Aparthotel, Calis Beach based on the good reviews it had a few years ago - DON'T BE DECEIVED!
I and three friends have just returned from a week's stay there. We are by no means fussy about luxury; after all, you don't spend much time in your apartment. However, the place is very dated, the bathroom leaves much to be desired, the beds are lumpy, the kitchen is poorly equipped and the gardens (which were obviously beautiful in the past) are overgrown with weeds. Over the course of the week, we had no clean towels, no loo rolls, no bed linen and nothing was cleaned. On several days, the bin holding used toilet paper was also left unemptied.
We found a couple of the staff were friendly, but the "people skills" of the manager are non-existent and some of the staff are positively surly. When we arrived at 3 in the morning, our booking was incorrect and all four of us had to stay in one apartment, with two of us sleeping on settees. We practically had to grovel for bedding and were grudgingly handed a duvet cover to sleep on top of and one pillow each. We were told if we didn't like it, we could leave.
Don't leave much in the safe. At a cost of £10 per week, you will be lucky if there is anyone around with the key to open it if you need money quickly. The manager had to be telephoned to come and open it in order for us to retrieve our passports as we waited for our airport transfer.
It's a long way from the beach. It may be 200 metres as the crow flies, but the walk actually takes 15-20 minutes on a circuitous route.
If you've already booked, good luck. We won't be going back.

As first impressions go, the one we got at the Anna apartments will take some beating. We arrived at 5am, as scheduled, to padlocked gates. When the English owner eventually noticed us he proceeded to fumble with the key and tell us he was just about to go to bed, it then became clear he was completely inebriated as he passed the key to me and mumbled for me to open the padlock from outside of the hotel gates for him. We eventually managed to get in and then waited for him to shuffle through the paper work at the bar to find our booking; he missed giving us our welcome pack info because he couldn’t read the surnames on them at the time, we got this three days later after it was too late to book one of the free trips through the travel company. When he eventually found some keys to one of the self catering rooms at the back he insisted on carrying our case up the stairs even though he could barely manage one step at a time, I actually had to hold him up from falling back down on top of us. He seemed to avoid eye contact for the rest of our stay…….
The self catering room was pretty grotty; damp on the walls, dingy bathroom with a broken hole on top of the toilet cistern and a shower that would run intermittent freezing cold and boiling hot. We could have sat two on the balcony had there not been a massive table taking up all of the room. We booked a double but got two single beds and had to ask for new towels 3 days in when it was clear they weren’t going to be changed by the cleaner.
What made the Anna bearable was the pool (although it’s right next to the main road so not very peaceful) the lovely Turkish staff and good food. It’s only a 10 minute stroll to Calis market on a Sunday and has a good supermarket directly opposite so it was easy to carry back big bottles of water etc.
It’s an easy 15 minute walk down to Calis beach and the main strip of bars and restaurants, and the local bus and dolmus stop right outside so it was a convenient location.
You could see into the hotel rooms from the poolside and they seemed to look much nicer than the s/c rooms. I assume that’s what all the good reviews are referring to? If you’re thinking of staying at the Anna maybe try the hotel but I wouldn’t recommend the s/c apartments, and maybe the owner should think about sticking to coffee when expecting guests?

The Anna looks nothing like the photos we saw on any website before we booked. We had an apartment and were informed by other people staying that we probably had the best one there! We were stunned, the bedroom had damp up the walls and smelt like cats pee, the bathroom was cringe worthy, really dark even with the lights on, the hand held shower trickled and went from boiling hot to cold all the time, the toilet what can I say yuk, yuk, yuk, found it hard to brush my teeth in the bathroom without wretching. I would not have considered preparing any food in here, the fridge shelves are all rusty. The two bed setees in the kitchen/living area are so big you have to squeeze past them to get to the bedroom and bathroom and on to the balcony. The towels only got replaced after asking, the bins were emptied every day and our belongings re-arranged! no cleaning, beds are like sleeping on the pavement and changed the sheets the day before we left!!. All in all typical turkish accomodation, if you like your comforts go elsewhere.
On the positive side, all the staff were really friendly and polite. No one in your face, the garden is strange but nice, the food we had was very good and the pool is good. The good points help with the stay, if not would have checked out, found it made it bearable for one week only, think the hotel rooms may be better but cramped.

A fantastic small but friendly run hotel. Owner Memhet and his staff will cater for your every need, arrange trips, organise an evening meal with a difference and so much more. We have been back three times and have enjoyed ourselves so much that we are getting married there in 2006.
I would certainly recommend this hotel for couples and families alike. Close enough to the beach front, river taxis, bars and restaurants, but quiet enough to lie by the pool without being disturbed. An excellent place to stay.

You cannot stay at the Anna without being stunned at the level of service provided. Mehmet, Ferhat and the rest of the staff have a no problem catchphrase and during our stay nothing was for them.
The hotel, while quite basic, is immaculately clean the gardens well kept. The quality and choice of food is excellent, from snacks to full main course, and all freshly prepared. The same is true of their beach front bar also called Anna, where the same level of customer service is provided.
We will certainly return as we have rarely experienced levels of service at any hotel regardless of price or rating.

Hotel Anna is lovely - a choice of apartment accommodation and rooms - small but immaculately clean.
This is a family run hotel with nice gardens with secluded nooks to sit and enjoy the evenings
The bar is situated in the garden - the scent of the flowers in the evening is wonderful.
The staff are friendly, helpful and pleasant.
Lovely pool complete with huge anaconda water slide - very nice recreation areas.
Visit to Dalyan was fab - arranged by the hotelier - a small group of visitors - lunch also arranged for the trip. The hotelier was more than happy to arrange any trips we fancied.
This is our 2nd visit to the hotel Anna and we will be coming back again next year - A lovely holiday.
