Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Albuferia. Myself and a friend spent a week there and was very happy with everything about the place. All the staff that we met were really nice especially Videl and Daniel who work behind the bar. We spent more time in the bar of an evening than going out. There is also a guy who does Karaoke on a friday nite who is really good and a right laugh. We went next door to Teasers for breakfast every morning which was very cheap and excellant. Also there is an amazing Portugese self service/takeaway just around the corner which does a very good variety of english and portugese food it was yummy. For you ladies that like a bit of pampering I would also recommend AromaSoul ( Cabeleireiro estetica) (turn left as you go out of the hotel go straight over the island and it is on the left in a square of shops) I paid 12 euros for a wash blow dry and straighten (which is cheaper than I pay at home). All in all it was a great holiday and I would definately go there again :)))

Having spent two years in a row in this hotel I feel somewhat qualified to comment on its hospitality. Firstly what you have to take note of is that you are in Portugal and the people, culture and general politeness of the country are the finest I have ever came across in many years of travelling abroad.
With regards to the Santa Eulalia Beach Club, the place is fantastic ! Ok,in some other reviews there are issues about sunbeds but is that not the case no matter where you go ? The beach is a 10 minute walk....
I personally spent my 40th birthday there last year had arranged for my Mother to fly out from Northern Ireland to spend it with myself, partner and children. After hearing she was arriving the next morning,Vidal the bar manager took it upon himself to take me to Faro airport to collect her and also to take her back there on her day of departure. Now if that is not good customer service I don't know what is !
The staff are brilliant,Vidal,John,Daniel to name a few will all go out of their way to ensure your stay is as best it can be,nothing is too much trouble.
As for the rooms, they are clean, bright, spacious and the maid service is excellent in my opinion. Staff at reception are corteous and helpful and always on hand to help.
As has been said in other reviews this hotel is close to all amenities with nothing too far away. Try Teasers for a decent breakfast (turn right out of hotel,50 yards on right) for a tasty breakfast for about 3 euros.
For an evening meal the excellant Casa Velha on the opposite side of the road about another 50 yards up will give you the true taste and experience of Portugese hospitality, the steak is to die for !
All in all, bearing in mind I possibly might be slightly biased simply because I have fallen in love with Portugal, the Santa Eulalia Beach Club is a superb place to stay whilst in Albufeira.
P.S If you do choose to stay there tell Vidal that Glenn,Helen,Alex and Holli said "See you soon my Friend"

we went to albufiera at the end of july begining of august for two weeks,we got there and thought it wasnt as we seemed in the brochure but it looked okay, after a really good first week we werr enjioying our stay, until the sunday starting our second week.we were broken into our room on the second floor, ourselves and two others all next to each other on the second floor, our money and possesions were in a safety deposit box which we paid 45 euros for two weeks where you think your money was safe, there were no marks or forced entry on the door itself just on the safe were it was forced open,we informed the police at the time because they were already at the hotel sorting out the other victims that it happened to.anyway we felt realy uneasy with staying at this hotel so asked to be moved to another room but was failed by are so called holiday rep who was a thomas cook rep,the rep and the hotel left us for four days without food or any money to see us through unyil we could phone home to sort something out.the managing staff throughout were rude and didnt offer any help with anything and again left myself,my husband and our two year old child stuck in a foreighn country not able to do anything apart from sit in our apartment for those days not being able to enjoy our holiday.
this is just a polite warning for holiday makers not to rent a deposit box as they are not safe and not guarenteed safe at all.

Having booked this hotel and then reading the reviews we were very nervous. Myself, my parnter and our three year old could not have been more pleased when we arrived.
Nothing wrong with the outside of the hotel. Our room was as requested and cleaned every day apart from a Sunday (we stayed two weeks) and towels were changed whenever we put them in the bath tub. Kitchen area was not extensive but then who goes on holiday to cook !!!. Air condition worked a treat - 15 euors of the remote control which you get back when you hand it back in. Pool area was cleaned every day. Sunbeds - well not too much of a problem but then the hotel was not fully booked - i could see where the problem would occure in June or July or early August. Although the one day we could not get a bed at 9am the hotel manager came and removed all the towels that were on beds with no bums !!! and it never happened again. The bar staff were friendly and great with kids. The accommodation looked exactly like the photos. We booked a trip through the hotel and it was fine and also booked the taxi to the airport and that was fine as well.
All in all would go back no problem and recommend it.

Stayed at the hotel in September 07 and when we arrived outside the hotel we were a bit worried but when we got inside the hotel was lovely and the reception staff very helpful. Our room was great, room 130 it was above the main reception and over looked the road. It was good to look out at night and watch the people and what was happening.
The beach that was to the left of the hotel and a 10 min walk was gorgeous and not to busy.
We got almost 1 week of rainy weather 3 days of sunshine.
The strip is a 10 min walk to right of the hotel and is is very busy with lots of drug dealers, lots!!!! but its worth a visit lots of rest bars and shops.
We ate at American Dinner for 3 nights as the food was that good and there was so much to choose from. Go right out of the hotel to the top of road then right again a 5 min walk and your there, try it it great.

staff had no time for the guests, room was to far away long dark walk, had to be at the pool extra extra extra early for a bed if not would end up wit a broken one. if your there to relax no chance by the pool full of kids. we went up for an afternoon nap and the cleaners knocked but the chain was on the door, thinking they would take the hint that we didnt want are room cleaned we didnt answer, then they forced the door open braking the chain right of the wall. we complained to the receptionist but nothing happened no apology.needed deposits for everthing e.g. remote control. beds wer only changed once in 2 wks. bit of a joke to be honest. lovely place to go but just wrong hotel. oh an the owner was a nark and miserable

just returned and wanted to share the good and bad points of santa eulalia hotel.
the good
The bar staff... daniel is a legend... very friendly
Rooms are spacious
Location is good...close to two nice beaches and the strip, and also just a cheap taxi ride from the old town
The coffee served by the pool bar was lovely
Free air conditioning and free sky tv
maid service was good
The bad
Constant egg smell in the room
Not enough sunbeds for the size of the hotel
The decor of the whole hotel is very dated
Lack of any entertainment during the day and quite dire at night too
Pool is quite small
Food is only served at the hotel between 11am and 3pm
Football is on constantly in the bar (suppose this is good if ur a bloke but I wouldve preferred big brother!!)
all in all okay, the weather was lovely and had quite a nice hol but wont be rushing back.

Would thoroughly recommend Santa Eulalia Beach Club Apartments. Clean, well maintained, well equipped, spacious and well positioned within the resort. 10 mins walk from 'The Strip', a cab ride from the Old Town and close to beaches.
Also close to a large supermarket and bars serving cheap breakfasts.
Didn't use Reception much - can confirm bar staff were excellent and very friendly.
Close enough to bars and restaurants not to need its own entertainment - although there is some on 3 nights each week.
Bar shuts at midnight each night - which is probably sensible rather than staying open for those coming in a little later. Snacks are only available at the 'pool' bar between 11am & 3pm. Not sure why they stop the snacks at 3pm.
Ideal for families.

on arrival we were impressed it was clean, lovely decor, brillant location. The pool area was good but not enough sun loungers which is a shame if u want to sun bathe.Rooms were clean and spacious no probs there.Reception staff were not very helpful, bar staff were entertaining and evening entertainment was good. Not far from the strip were all the great bars and restaurants are located something for everyone.Theres lots to do here something which caters for everyone.Beach was five mins away two beaches near by,supermarkets were near.If u like piri piri chicken then Ramiries in guia is the place to go the food was brilliant.Overall we had a lovely time would come back.

the santa eulia is in a great location for the beaches and the night life. it was quite enough eventhough next to the road, but we didnt mind that at all, at least there are no big hills to walk up to get to the main action.
the apartments were ideal for us as we just used them as a base they were clean and comfortable and pool area was nice.
try teasers bar next door good for breakfast very nice inside and make a good sangra. also try wild and co for a meal very nice but abit pricey but worth it. dont go to reno's for a meal its rubbish. all in all a fab holiday would reccommed for couples and familys definatily going back next year

Having booked this holiday "blind", I was most impressed by the accommodation. The studio was well appointed, spacious and modern. It was serviced every day except Sunday. The Kitchenette was thoughtfully put behind a sliding door, so it looked like another wardrobe.
There was no food of any sort available, but the resurants bars etc started just a few yards away.
The reception staff were helpful when requested. The bar staff were friendly and appeared to know the longer term guests very well.
I have booked again next spring for a longer stay, the first time I have ever gone back to the same hotel.
