Comments:  Having read some of the comments left for the sunclub i was really worried what the hotel would be like. TAKE NO NOTICE of bad comments. We have just returned from a week there and loved it. Hotel and rooms were clean, staff friendly and the cleaners are lovely.
Salou is very expensive, bus fares and soft drinks cost a fortune. The theme park and water parks are amazing. We would definately stay in Salou again but would try to stay someone half board or all inclusive as the food and drinks are just so expensive.

Comments:  Stayed here for 1 week with my partner and 16 yr old son. The apartments are really big and very clean, had hairdryer, tv, toaster, microwave, large clothes dryer on balcony, coathangers in wardrobes.
All staff very friendly and helpful. Maid service came in every day to empty bins and once during the week to change bedlinen/towels.
Location is ideal for getting to waterparks and Port Aventura as the bus stop is just outside and buses run every 10/20 mins throughout the day/night.
Cap Salou is a v. small resort and is v. hilly the little beach is only 5 mins away but is very steep to get down to. I have MS and found getting around the resort pretty difficult because it's so hilly.
We ate in most of the local restaurants and have no complaints whatsoever. Staff and food at Knights Inn recommended.
Only downside to Sunclub is the hotel opposite is v. noisy with loud music and annoying guy on PA system playing from 10am to midnight every day. We asked for groundfloor apartment which are actually downstairs, so not v. useful. The pool table and table tennis are directly outside the groundfloor apartment balconies, so be prepared for some noise at night.
We didn't go to the pool area, but it seemed v. clean, loads of sunbeds available.
Handy hints: There's no duty free when you arrive at Reus but the smoking room in the bar area at Sunclub has a vending machine selling packs of 20 and 200 for duty free prices - tobacco can be bought from reception.
Keep an eye on your posessions - we had our bag stolen from the beach - it was next to the sunbeds and we were all sitting there - v. clever!
We had a great holiday, but wouldn't go back only because it's a difficult resort for me to get around.

Comments:  Loved our holiday at the Sun Club. Family of four, myself, husband, son aged 15 and daughter aged 12.

Our apartment was clean, spacious and had everything we needed (fridge, microwave, stove, kettle, toaster), with a larger balcony than the surrounding hotels. Hotel staff were helpful and we had no problems at all (linen changed twice a week, towels every two days and bin emptied once a day). The pool was spotlessly clean and litter free, and we had no problems getting a sunbed when we wanted one, without having to get up early to 'book' one. The food served in the hotel was good, wouldn't say it was fantastic and although not overly expensive should have been more reasonably priced. The hotel supermarket was small, but sufficient, but we walked round the corner to a larger and better priced one and could be there and back in 10 mins.

Our kids loved the pool and had a lovely time in there, it was their first question in the morning 'can we stay in the pool all day?'. The entertainment was good and easy-going, although the stage was very small and the only let down was the cost of some of the extra's, bingo at 4 euros a go, 2 euros to play pool (which soon adds up with a 15 year old!) and 1 euro for only 10 mins on the internet.

Cap Salou is a quiet area, with some nice smaller beaches and pleasant to wander round, but not much else to do. We went into Salou on quite a few evenings, which was a short bus ride away, with the bus stop right outside the hotel. This is a much busier resort and we loved it for an evening out, but we were glad we weren't staying there as we enjoyed getting back to the prettier, more relaxing Cap Salou.

We would definitely return to the SunClub, it is an excellent base for your holiday whether staying by the pool all day or as a base for exploring. The bus stop for Barcelona/La Pineda/Terragon/PortaVentura/Salou are all right by the hotel making it very easy to go anywhere.

Comments:  Dirty, Overpriced, run down, loud, Absolutely awful!!!!!!
When we arrived (2 adults, 13yr old, 8 yr old and 6 month old), we were requested to pay €100 deposit!!, €50 for safety deposit box, plus more if we wanted extra towel or linen changes.
The apartment was filthy, had to clean it, the floor had not been washed after the previous occupants. The entertainment went onto 1/1.30 AM, very loud, and it was directly below us, our children were therfore up until this time playing cards as they could not get to sleep, who could!! The surrounding area was also very loud, with entainment from other hotels that could be clearly heard until the early hours.
During the two weeks we were there, the floors were not cleaned by the maid, the linen was only changed twice, we asked for a third change (these were the only three times the beds were dressed) and the towels were rarely changed also. The only thing the maid did was empty the rubbish. I didnt pay €2400 to clean floors and dress beds during my 2 week holiday, I do that the other 50 weeks of the year!!!
Althougth there is a television as advertised, there are no channels at all. The babys cot was filthy, you could see the handprints of suncream from previous users. The room was tiny, very claustrophobic.
The pool area was dirty, although the pool looked clean, it was too cold to swim. The sun loungers were broken and very dangerous with their jagged edges and arm rests that were barely hanging on. This is NOT a 4* accommodation, it would barely rate 2* in the UK or Ireland.
Supermarket very expensive, dearer than home, cheaper one 1 minute walk away, called Michaelanglos.
The area of Cap Salou was dirty and very expensive. Stay away from the Knights Inn, wouldn't serve the food there to a dog!!!
PortAventure was very over rated and full of very ignorant staff!!!!
The worst holiday ever, and our first bad holiday in 13 years of travelling. Never again.

Comments:  We were on holiday for 2 weeks, these apartments were great. They were very clean and the staff were very helpful, pleasant and made our holiday really nice. The Kids Club was great as we had 2 children with us. The reps were fantanstic and the children loved the activities they done. I would reccommend the kids club based on how much my 2 children loved it. The only thing I could find wrong with these appartments was the food, we ate at other resturants that were close by. The apartments, reception area, pool area and bar area were always very clean We would go back for a holiday agian.

Comments:  This location is fantastic for people who want a quieter holiday,it is a small village type setting close to a few fantastic bars and restaurants, although it is away form the hustle and bustle of salou ( which is more for the outgoing type holiday makers) it is in the ideal situation and it is also only a bus ride away from the fantastic port aventura theme park ( part of the universal studio team).
the hotel is ideal for families although me and my partner went as a young couple ( both in our twenties) the staff at the hotel all speak fluent English and although the hotel may seem abit cheap and cheerful you get way more than you pay for, the hotel has a park for the children, a pool, Jacuzzi, and a childrens pool, then two bars with fantastic entertainment and a adult only bar for the evenings. it also has a hotel restaurant and hotel shop which are both brilliant.. the kids club at the hotel also needs praise the reps must work very hard as there was always something going on to entertain the children, the beach is only a short walk from the hotel and the hotel also has its very own bus stop with buses passing daily to salou, cambrillis( defiantly worth going to) and port aventura. all costing 2 Euro to the destination
there is also a bus which passes everyday to Barcelona with the PLANA bus company, it is the cheapest around and much better value then the trips with holiday companies
This holiday would have been certified as a 10/10 had it not being for the appauling behaviour and attitude of the representives and transfer staff of first choice, who treat us totally different then they treat any of the familys. the rep at the hotel was rude and very offensive and the transfer and airport staff were equally as un pleasant.
if thinking of going to this resort as a younger couple i would also say at looking into the H10 hotel in cap salou which looked equally as amazing as our hotel :)
Cap salou and salou are quiet cheap to eat in and if eating in cap salou i would suggest trying smugglers cove which is a family run amazing restaurant and of course the hotel restaurant
Me and my partner both took 300 pounds each and i came home with 90 pounds, thats including my bus fares, food, drink and presents for my family and friends ( and im a big spender)
If thinking of visiting the port aventura park i would defiantly encourage buying tickets before leaving the UK via the port aventura website, it is much cheaper..
if intrested in visiting this resort i would stronglly suggest going with thomas cook who also operate this area. I hope this review has been of help to you and i hope you enjoy your time in salou if this is the destination you choose

Comments:  Stayed at the Sunclub for 1 week, thank god we didnt stay for 2 weeks!
Party of 3, myself, my wife and our baby. The rooms were very dirty. My wife had to goto the supermarket to get some floor cleaner and mop the floor before we even unpacked our luggage. Very rarely did we see the maid. The towels were changed once the week we were there and beds were never changed.

This is a very noisy hotel, was wakened quite a few times in the night with kids running around and banging doors on the corridor. Also wakened our baby.

Food and alcohol is very expensive at the Sunclub. A pint of spanish beer 2.60 Euros and a packet of Walkers crisps 1.30 Euros!

The First Choice reps seemed to spend most of the day walking around trying to collect Euros for this and that. I felt like telling them can you do something with the parents and kids that doesnt involve money!!!!
Not much to do at Cap Salou only spend money in expensive bars and restaurants.
Won't be back to Sunclub or Cap Salou.

Comments:  party of eight of us stayed here 4 adults and 4 children. this hotel has never been a 3* plus in its life, the rooms are filthy and the maid only came in once while we were there she came straight into the room while the kids were asleep i was making a cup of coffee and she practically came between my legs to empty the bin under the sink, i have never known anything like it!!!! she never changed the towels in a week the only way we got some clean ones was by following her trolley and taking some when she was in another room. as for first choice and their rep you may as well not have bothered after sleeping on the bed for a night my wife pulled the cover back and found blood on the bed that wasnt ours so the bed obviously had not been changed from the previous occupant disgusting!!!! she found the rep and informed her who assured us it would be sorted, so we went out for the day and came back only to find nothing had been done we asked her the following day and she said she had forgot marvellous!!!! the pool area on this hotel is extremely small so feels claustrophobic and is shaded for most of the day. the hotel is the noisiest i have ever stayed at with the entertainment being heard in your rooms into the early hours, also when we were there it was full of noisy inconsiderate people who just seemed to let their kids do what they wanted ie: banging on peoples doors in the middle of the night etc which the hotel said they could do nothing about.
the price of things at the hotel: pint of lager 2 euros 60 chips, 2 euros 60, coke 2 euros 10
also they may as well not have a kids club as the reps seem totally disinterested except that is when it comes to them wanting euros as everyday there is always something that they want money off of you for ie: pizza night 8 euros per child they had about eight kids at this and bought one pizza for 16 euros from behind the bar for the lot of them nice little earner
the area itself has little to offer and what it does is expensive it is on average 3 euros 50 per pint and about 10 euros each to eat,
if you are unfortunate enought to be staying at the sunclub the best advice i can give you is walk to la pineda everyday basically come out of the hotel and turn left and keep going along that road la pineda is a better resort with more choice of things to do and places to eat etc. also there is a pub at the end of the road called the knights inn go down the side of their and down some steps and you will find a nice little beach with hardly anyone on it
overall i wouldnt stay at the sunclub again even if it was free or come to salou!!

Comments:  We travelled last minute to Sunclub and were very pleased with out apartment , they are spacious, clean and comfortable. Having 2 children I can definatley highly commend the kids club. The hotel entertainment was very basic and at times poor, we only ate a breakfast in the restaurant and this was as good as any back home. The area of Cap Salou was dreadful, littered with dog mess and very scruffy, nothing appealing except a few nice coved beaches. Salou and la Pineda much nicer and an easy walk or bus ride, making Cap Salou a good base if needed, but thats all. Pools very good, childrens pool safe , but both pools often littered. I have been on several holidays to family hotels and it is hard to understand what everyones idea of ' a good family hotel' is. My opinion is that this has the potential to be a very good family hotel, but is let down by , unruly children running the corridors, up and down the lifts etc screaming and banging, having no respect for the hotel, jumping on snooker tables whilst parents are not seen. Noisy rooms, until early hours, often noise coming from neighbouring hotels. So not a good review from me, but as i only paid pittence each for a week, i did not expect much, its a real shame as the hotel staff are great and the potential is there. One point the supermarket is very overpriced, we went into Salou and did a weeks shop in the supermarket there for 3 times less than the hotel one, and trust me i dont exaggerate.

Comments:  i went with my partner to the suclub for the first time and had a fantastic holiday. Hotel was brilliant the best in the area by far, staff were friendly and entertainment on every night. As situated just outside salou in cap salou it is a 15 minute walk or 5 min bus trip to salou but a few bars and pubs are just around the corner in cap salou- the small beach coves in cap salou were lovely too. Would definately recommend people to visit the Port Aventura theme park had a brilliant time there. The apartments were very spacious also quite modern as well as being cleaned regulary. Food in the hotel was nice not the cheapest though. Pool area kept clean at all times,i would say the site is more for families with young children or older couples as not much of a "party" atmosphere. Cant fault the site would recommend 100%. First choice was really efficent and transfers ran smoothly and were only around 20 mins long.

Comments:  This hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, the entertainment good, location wise you are close to everywhere but the food was horrible. For a lovely meal try The Paddock which is just round the corner and if you are in Salou then try The Eastern Eye both have lovely food and friendly staff

Comments:  The hotel was fab, every clean and tidy, the staff were brill, evening entertainment was great the kids loved it 3 kids aged 6,9 &13, pools were cold but early in the year, the maids came round every day they changed towels every other day & sheets twice during our weeksa stay. the only down side was the shop was expensive the internet was 50 cents for 5 mins, and pool was 2 euros a game. on the whole we had a fab time and would go back again, the whole holiday only cost a massive £350 including hotel transfers for the 5 of us, the hotel was £161 for a week cheaper than Butlins

Comments:  We weren’t sure what to expect from this accommodation as it was only £50 for 3 nights for a family of 4, but we definitely weren’t disappointed!

The rooms are spotless as is the rest of the hotel, and most of the reception staff are english, so that makes it easier to start with! We chose to eat in the on site restaurant every day for breakfast and evening dinner. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced.

I can’t comment on the evening entertainment, as my children are 5 and were in bed by 9.30ish every night, they were so tired (so were we). Everywhere was so easy to get to as there is a taxi rank, a bus stop and a little novelty train stop outside the hotel entrance. Also the little supermarket onsite was well stocked with all the essentials you would need and was nicely priced. The pool area was spotless, and I saw them cleaning the pool every day.

The only negative thing I would say is about the area of the hotel, don’t be confused by staying in Salou or in Cap Salou which is where this hotel is, as Cap Salou is a very quiet area with not alot going on around, so if you are looking for a lively area to stay, this is not the place to be, but as we had young kids and were only here for 4 days, it suited us!

Overall I would give this hotel a 10/10 and will definitely come back!
