The hotel was fab, every clean and tidy, the staff were brill, evening entertainment was great the kids loved it 3 kids aged 6,9 &13, pools were cold but early in the year, the maids came round every day they changed towels every other day & sheets twice during our weeksa stay. the only down side was the shop was expensive the internet was 50 cents for 5 mins, and pool was 2 euros a game. on the whole we had a fab time and would go back again, the whole holiday only cost a massive £350 including hotel transfers for the 5 of us, the hotel was £161 for a week cheaper than Butlins

Stayed at the Sunclub for 1 week, thank god we didnt stay for 2 weeks!
Party of 3, myself, my wife and our baby. The rooms were very dirty. My wife had to goto the supermarket to get some floor cleaner and mop the floor before we even unpacked our luggage. Very rarely did we see the maid. The towels were changed once the week we were there and beds were never changed.
This is a very noisy hotel, was wakened quite a few times in the night with kids running around and banging doors on the corridor. Also wakened our baby.
Food and alcohol is very expensive at the Sunclub. A pint of spanish beer 2.60 Euros and a packet of Walkers crisps 1.30 Euros!
The First Choice reps seemed to spend most of the day walking around trying to collect Euros for this and that. I felt like telling them can you do something with the parents and kids that doesnt involve money!!!!
Not much to do at Cap Salou only spend money in expensive bars and restaurants.
Won't be back to Sunclub or Cap Salou.

party of eight of us stayed here 4 adults and 4 children. this hotel has never been a 3* plus in its life, the rooms are filthy and the maid only came in once while we were there she came straight into the room while the kids were asleep i was making a cup of coffee and she practically came between my legs to empty the bin under the sink, i have never known anything like it!!!! she never changed the towels in a week the only way we got some clean ones was by following her trolley and taking some when she was in another room. as for first choice and their rep you may as well not have bothered after sleeping on the bed for a night my wife pulled the cover back and found blood on the bed that wasnt ours so the bed obviously had not been changed from the previous occupant disgusting!!!! she found the rep and informed her who assured us it would be sorted, so we went out for the day and came back only to find nothing had been done we asked her the following day and she said she had forgot marvellous!!!! the pool area on this hotel is extremely small so feels claustrophobic and is shaded for most of the day. the hotel is the noisiest i have ever stayed at with the entertainment being heard in your rooms into the early hours, also when we were there it was full of noisy inconsiderate people who just seemed to let their kids do what they wanted ie: banging on peoples doors in the middle of the night etc which the hotel said they could do nothing about.
the price of things at the hotel: pint of lager 2 euros 60 chips, 2 euros 60, coke 2 euros 10
also they may as well not have a kids club as the reps seem totally disinterested except that is when it comes to them wanting euros as everyday there is always something that they want money off of you for ie: pizza night 8 euros per child they had about eight kids at this and bought one pizza for 16 euros from behind the bar for the lot of them nice little earner
the area itself has little to offer and what it does is expensive it is on average 3 euros 50 per pint and about 10 euros each to eat,
if you are unfortunate enought to be staying at the sunclub the best advice i can give you is walk to la pineda everyday basically come out of the hotel and turn left and keep going along that road la pineda is a better resort with more choice of things to do and places to eat etc. also there is a pub at the end of the road called the knights inn go down the side of their and down some steps and you will find a nice little beach with hardly anyone on it
overall i wouldnt stay at the sunclub again even if it was free or come to salou!!

We travelled last minute to Sunclub and were very pleased with out apartment , they are spacious, clean and comfortable. Having 2 children I can definatley highly commend the kids club. The hotel entertainment was very basic and at times poor, we only ate a breakfast in the restaurant and this was as good as any back home. The area of Cap Salou was dreadful, littered with dog mess and very scruffy, nothing appealing except a few nice coved beaches. Salou and la Pineda much nicer and an easy walk or bus ride, making Cap Salou a good base if needed, but thats all. Pools very good, childrens pool safe , but both pools often littered. I have been on several holidays to family hotels and it is hard to understand what everyones idea of ' a good family hotel' is. My opinion is that this has the potential to be a very good family hotel, but is let down by , unruly children running the corridors, up and down the lifts etc screaming and banging, having no respect for the hotel, jumping on snooker tables whilst parents are not seen. Noisy rooms, until early hours, often noise coming from neighbouring hotels. So not a good review from me, but as i only paid pittence each for a week, i did not expect much, its a real shame as the hotel staff are great and the potential is there. One point the supermarket is very overpriced, we went into Salou and did a weeks shop in the supermarket there for 3 times less than the hotel one, and trust me i dont exaggerate.

i went with my partner to the suclub for the first time and had a fantastic holiday. Hotel was brilliant the best in the area by far, staff were friendly and entertainment on every night. As situated just outside salou in cap salou it is a 15 minute walk or 5 min bus trip to salou but a few bars and pubs are just around the corner in cap salou- the small beach coves in cap salou were lovely too. Would definately recommend people to visit the Port Aventura theme park had a brilliant time there. The apartments were very spacious also quite modern as well as being cleaned regulary. Food in the hotel was nice not the cheapest though. Pool area kept clean at all times,i would say the site is more for families with young children or older couples as not much of a "party" atmosphere. Cant fault the site would recommend 100%. First choice was really efficent and transfers ran smoothly and were only around 20 mins long.

This hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, the entertainment good, location wise you are close to everywhere but the food was horrible. For a lovely meal try The Paddock which is just round the corner and if you are in Salou then try The Eastern Eye both have lovely food and friendly staff

We were there in october it was a brillant place to stay i would advise any one goin to stay there. Everyone is so friendly and if you have kids the night entertainment is brillant for them. If you are a young person going your only 10 mins into the night life of salou center which is amazing go to the bus stop night club it fantastic.

We weren’t sure what to expect from this accommodation as it was only £50 for 3 nights for a family of 4, but we definitely weren’t disappointed!
The rooms are spotless as is the rest of the hotel, and most of the reception staff are english, so that makes it easier to start with! We chose to eat in the on site restaurant every day for breakfast and evening dinner. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced.
I can’t comment on the evening entertainment, as my children are 5 and were in bed by 9.30ish every night, they were so tired (so were we). Everywhere was so easy to get to as there is a taxi rank, a bus stop and a little novelty train stop outside the hotel entrance. Also the little supermarket onsite was well stocked with all the essentials you would need and was nicely priced. The pool area was spotless, and I saw them cleaning the pool every day.
The only negative thing I would say is about the area of the hotel, don’t be confused by staying in Salou or in Cap Salou which is where this hotel is, as Cap Salou is a very quiet area with not alot going on around, so if you are looking for a lively area to stay, this is not the place to be, but as we had young kids and were only here for 4 days, it suited us!
Overall I would give this hotel a 10/10 and will definitely come back!

Have just come back from Sunclub in Salou. Having read some of the reviews we were starting to dread it. But had an absolute ball, rooms and hotel were spotless. The cleaners seemed to work 24 hours a day. The staff were very friendly. We didn't eat at the hotel, we had 3 lovely meals in the la piazza a pizzeria in Cap Salou, definitely recommend it. The rest of the time we ate in Salou, mainly spanish restaurants. We had 2 english meals, 1 in Cap Salou at route 66, it was disgusting!!!! and 1 in Salou at the orient express, if you like your food pre prepared and served still frozen in middle then eat there!!!
The fountains in Salou at night are absolutely beautiful, as they light up at night. We also went into the Red Lion in Salou every night to join in the quizzes with Dj ketchup.... my only gripe about the holiday was the security deposit at arrival £60. or 100 euros which was quite steep when you have taken a budget and then you are without that much straight away. All in all I would definitely go back again.

My family stayed at the Sunclub Aparthotel for two weeks from 7th August 2007.
We have three young children, so as standard hotel rooms only sleep four people, these apartments were a good choice as there is a bedroom for the parents and beds in the living room for three more.
There is a kitchen area with two ring hob, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer box, and a full set of cups/plates/bowls/cutlery etc. If you've got young children then this alone makes life so much easier!
The hotel was fine, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Carlos (young waiter). The rooms were a good size, spotless and were cleaned regularly and had air conditioning.
The pool area is nice with a number of sunbeds and reasonable space to lie in or have a chat. The 2 or 3 beaches which are scattered within a few minutes walk provide a nice break from the pool if you want a change of scenery.
A great place.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights last half term on a tailor-made holiday provided by First Choice. The cost of £154pp was fantastic as we only needed a base as we spent most of our time at the Port-Aventura theme park, strolling on the beach searching for treasure, shopping and eating out at many of the fantastic restaurants.
The weather was sunny during the day, but we needed a second layer in the evenings. I can't believe some of the reviews on this site, you can't blame Salou for the weather in August or tornadoes.
Take a tip from me and go and use the facilities of a local 4 or 5 star hotel, they don't mind and are more than happy to serve you at the bar.
If you need to spend your holidays munching on hot dogs, may I suggest you go back to Haven/Pontins/Butlins or maybe the local fair!
I would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Salou who wants to get out and about and explore.

We have just arrived back from staying at the Sunclub in Salou and after reading lots of reviews prior to departing; I just wanted to let everyone know honestly what it is like to stay in this apartment. If I had read the reviews prior to booking the hotel I really wouldn’t have even bothered with it which would have been a complete shame.
Firstly there were 5 of us - 2 adults and our children aged ranged from 7 to 13.
When we arrived at the airport we were unaware that actually, these apartments are not in Salou but in Cap Salou which if you have young children this makes a massive difference! They are situated about 15 minutes by bus from the town or shorter of course by taxi, like we used as the taxi rank is just outside the hotel.
On arrival the apartments are spotless! Just remember to turn the fridge up as they ask you to turn it down when you leave and the air conditioning doesn’t work unless you have both patio doors shut - for obvious reasons!
The cleaning ladies will provide towels almost daily and clean sheets half way through the week. Everything else in the apartment is great, basic but great.
The pools are cleaned everyday and we know as we had a "pool view". As for not being allowed to reserve the sunbeds.... we thought this was fab!! The hotel opposite was sooo funny to watch as people were coming down and clock watching waiting to reserve their beds... how sad is that! At the Sunclub is just meant that you could take you time sorting yourselves and the kids out and go down to the pool when you were good and ready. At no point during our holiday which was the height of the season were there no sunbeds available.
The restaurant in the hotel was no different to anywhere else. And No... not everything came with chips. The prices were average to. Using the hotel restaurant just meant that you didn’t have to traipse round everywhere looking for something suitable for the kids to eat.
All the staff that we came across were very friendly and helped whenever they could. As for the reps, they were fab and the kids had a great time.
The evening entertainment was a let down I have to admit.....but the stage is sooo small and we had to give the girl who was organising the evenings 10 out of 10 for effort. But to be honest, by the time the kids have been around the pool, gone out for the day or just the heat... bed was a really good option!
The hotel opposite does make a lot of noise and didn’t finish until 1am but lets face it... we are taking about Spain!! But on the positive side, the kids did have a lay in which of course meant that we could to!
If you are a family, especially visiting Spain for the first time, then I would recommend staying at the Sunclub... oh almost forgot they have a shop attached to the hotel as well. But if you are a gang of young adults out for a good time then this is not the location for you.
The only negative I would have to say is the security... after what happened with Maddie I as a parent would of liked to of seen a difference with hotels abroad... but I heard this was the same everywhere.
If you take up any day trips just remember to watch you bags!!! We went to Barcelona and I was one of the lucky ones... they nick everything!! Including going down your pockets... you have been warned!!
The water park and theme park are two great days out, and the theme park is better to do at night as the show at the end is fab!
Well I hope you enjoy you hols as much as we did.

The holiday was brill! The kids were never bored.
We went to the beaches and had a great time. The entertainment was excellent and the kids club was also very good.
I don't have any complaints and we are going back again this year.
I recommend you go to Aquapolis water world and Port Aventura.
The staff were very friendly.

After reading the reviews, I to was concerned about our choice of holiday but we (2 adults 2 teenagers) had a great time and were sad to leave. Everything nice and clean, well air conditioned rooms, friendly staff and reps, cheap taxis. Taxi rank and bus stop right outside the hotel.
We went a couple of times to Barcelona. First time was by train from Salou but as we had little knowledge of the metro and no Spanish we found it a bit stressful so decided to go on an organised tour the second time, which offered what we needed and tickets were available from a booth outside the hotel or through the rep.
The only problem if any was the limited entertainment in the evenings but we usually took a taxi to Salou or other nearby towns.
This was the first time me and...

This was the first time me and my family have been to Spain and it was a nice get away from the drizzle in England. Firstly the apartment's were not to bad as they had plenty of space for everything you needed and the air conditioning helped as the weather was very hot.
Also the staff were helpful in anything you asked them about, but there was a lack of staff around the pool area. The negatives of the hotel in general were that the night time entertainment was poor as all it seemed to be was bingo and the pool was to crowded.
The position of the hotel couldn't be any better as right outside the hotel was a bus stop where you could go to Salou or take day trips to Port Ventura or Barcelona if you wanted to. Another positive was that there was a very nice beach 2 minutes away.
Places to eat are plentiful as you could pick from one of five restaurants in Cap Salou or just go down into Salou and choose, my personal favourite was the paddock in Cap Salou. I would recommend this hotel to people wanting to go out to Salou.
