I went here with 7 mates, we're all around 18, so this review may only apply if you're looking for a party holiday. Anyway, this hotel is about a 15minute walk from the centre of Salou where you'll find all the clubs. You'll come to appreciate the distance as its so... more

Absolutley Fantastic
i stayed in Sunclub 4 a midweek break wit a few friends and all i can say is its a fantastic place to stay. Some people may feel its a little far away from Salou itself but der is a bus n taxi on ur door and its only a 5/10 drive ta da centre. its a great place for people of all ages from chiildren to adults we have booked to go again but this time with the children and grandarents. The apartments are very clean with lovely fews and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The only thing i wud say is watch out for happy hr in the bar its leathel
Excellent value for money
Very clean and well appointed apartments, if a little noisy by day and not a lot locally,But its not far from salou so you can escape the rowdy crowds. for a budget break you can't go wrong here.
reception staff bad
we stayed here on the second week of august 2007, the hotel is on a slight hill and just of the main road to the center of salou. There is a bus stop right outside the main gate and a taxi rank across the road. There is a small beach just across the road and it has a few resturants and bars on the way down to it, there is also an amusement park for small children. the beach is lovely and never crowded. the staff were not freindly in the reception they never seemed to work a shift again and were replaced with staff that quite simply ignored you and went out of their way to be un-helpful the rudest of all was bety, the bar staff were great specially carlos (is a lovely young waiter and really friendly) , the only problem we found was that the bar was understaffed.
great
very clean apartments, rooms were great (big) staff were very friendly, and helpful, wish they would improve on the childrens entertainment, as it was the same every day, also PLEASE open the pool area in the evenings, all in all, its a great place to stay, and we are going back again next year, just hope they have took notice of my requests lol
Cap Salou
If you end up on the ground floor then you wont be able to sleep due to the entertainment which stops at 12.30 ish. If you have a young family request a quieter room. All the floors are tiled so noise carries, if your neighbouring guests arrive back late you will hear them, voices carry and you hear furniture being moved. If you like to sleep early and wake early then this Hotel is not for you.Not a very big pool considering size of hotel but we did go in august so pool was very busy. Loads of pool tables, table tennis a basketball court, small kids paddling pool and internet facility in the lobby. In room facilities are basic but clean, double bed is two singles pushed together in main bedroom, lounge area has bed settee with rollout bed underneath, and one single bed in other half of lounge, very adequate bathroom with shower. Kitchen has fridge and electric hob. Plenty of Cupboard space and a safe(about 10 euros a week), portable tv in lounge and table and chairs also. The maids change towels and sheets every other day.If you want a brew then you will need to hire electric kettle as cooker elements dont heat up very well, forget cooking.Supermarket attatched to hotel which is very handy for any supplies you need. Can't say to much about entertainment as we never stayed in the bar at night but they allways seemed to have some cabaret type act on followed by bingo. The bar was fine and they had a small eating area also, pizzas, baguette sandwiches ,chips, burgers etc. Reception and bar staff speak good english and are polite. The reps at the hotel were great especially nick who always seemed to be around when you needed him.We bought all our tickets for the waterpark from him as they were the same price as at the park but it saved you queuing up at the waterpark. The waterpark was in La Pineda and was called Aquopolis, loads of slides and well worth a visit even in August. The reps also sell tickets for barcelona tours. We did the all day tour which takes in the nou camp stadium, the unfinished church, gothic quarter, fountains and plenty of time for shopping. don't forget to take a walk down the ramblers where all the entertainers are, opt out of the tour guides meal trip as it was'nt very nice. You will find somewhere to eat on your own easily. The bus service is great for exploring nearby towns around salou. If you want to escape the touristy shops and atmosphere of salou then take a trip to cambris port and have a meal on the front, nice shops and nice restaurants. The Portaventura theme park is also in salou and is well worth a visit for anybody, but beware if you are going peak season as waits are 1hr plus. You can obtain an express pass which cuts out most of the queue but obviousily this is a more expensive ticket. If you want to ride most of the attractions then i would say pay the extra or you will be frustrated by large queues. You could easily spend two days here. When eating in salou center bear in mind that the better restaurants are on the sea front. If you dont want burger and chips every night then you will find some very nice restaurants here.Try a seafood paella or order several 'tapas' for the family and then everyone can help thereself. It makes an enjoyable change. We were 2 adults and 2 kids so meals were costing between 40 to 70 euros depending on the restaurant. It takes 5 mins on the bus to travel between cap salou,la pineda or salou center. About 20 mins to cambris but well worth a visit. There is plenty to keep you occupied in and around salou so explore it , just bear in mind that things are done a little slower than you're used to and you will enjoy yourself.
Great all round holiday
We arrived after a flight that only took 1 hour 35 minutes and transfer time of 20 minutes to Cap Salou. We were greeted by a friendly reception team and given the key to our 1 bedroomed apartment which upon entering was the cleanest and biggest we have encountered for a long time there was plenty of wardrobe space for 3 adults and 1 child, our requests for extra pillows and towels were met with friendly chambermaids. The pool was the cleanest that we have seen for a long time, and the best thing was that there was zero tolerance to sunbed reservation, it meant that everyone could have a lie in and time for breakfast without having to reserve beds as they were always available. The resturant in the apartments was excellant value for money, with very friendly waiting staff ie chris who told us of a place to go which none of the reps had mentioned it was a fishing port called cambrils, which if you got to the port for 4pm you could see the fishing boats come in with there catch of the day. Local bus services were excellant as were the taxis which were the same price and all picked up from the front of the apartments. The only problem that we encountered was the range of local resturants big bens in cap salou was the best and they served a full range of spanish paella, seafood, steaks etc, most of the other resturants are totally geared for british food ie burger and nuggets and chips which is ok if you like that day in day out, one resturant to totally avoid is the knights inn which after a long day out with a group of people and we had waited 45 mintues they then told us they had run out of what we had ordered which wasn't great when you had 5 hungry children to feed, but thankfully for the sunclub as we went back and they cooked us some food. The evening/day entertainment was varied but thankfully the 2 entertainment reps naomi and jane kept it going, too much bingo day and night but some evening entertainment was brill, the girls were under pressure by hotel management to keep the noise down therefore they were limited to what they could do, but they had loads of kids entertainment and they were brilliant working together, the first choice bugs bunny club was good with lesley and rachel and they had activities like a pizza and pyjama nite plus chocolate party, scavenger hunts. The first choice rep we had called nick payton was the best we have had for years he made a real effort to make sure our holiday was enjoyed. The only other thing to warn people about is that we purchased tickets for port aventura before we left from first choice we had an offer of 7 days for the price of 3, but what we weren't informed of is that the theme park and the caribe aquatic park is run by seperate management and you have to pay to get in to the water park, once in there you have to pay 8 euros for the rubber rings and 4 euros for the sunbeds, this we felt was a con as we were lead to believe one ticket covered both attractions. We met a couple of nice families which made our holiday to Cap Salou one of the best for years.
It was piggish
I absolutely hated it.. horrible view... not good staff... 0/5... I would never recommend it to anyone....NEVER go people!!! They abuse your kids
Yep, I liked the place
ok...what to say? well, the room was good. Basic but clean and plenty of room for the two adults and to children that made up our party. Would have preferred to have had a room that had a decent view and not the view we had of wasteland at the side of the complex. A small gripe really. Totally hated the night time entertainment. I especially hated the "game" that involved downing shots and encouraging kids to shout for their parents to down as many as possible. Not exactly what we should encourage kids to do. The daily quiz was ok but a bit of an intrusion at times. Charley, the pretty young woman, did her best with the restrictions she had to work within. Dont know the guys name (the one with the eyeliner!!) but he was just a waste of time and space. Staff varied. The people at reception were very friendly and welcoming. Bar staff gave the impression that we were imposing on them. Prices were ok. I read reports that the pool was "freezing". Bit of an exaggeration. Cold yes but hardly freezing. After a few hours baking in the sunshine, what do people expect the water temperature to be for God's sake ??!!! Bloody wimps :) Transport was excellent and the rates were good. Get taxis as the price is more or less the same as the bus prices. Be sure u visit Port Aventura......the FURIOUS BACO ride is an absolute MUST DO!! Over all, the Sun Club Apartments were pleasent but I'm not sure if I'll be rushing back Enjoy ur holiday
Excellent Place for holiday
My wife and I and our 2 kids (11 and 7) stayed there first week in May. Very nice place. We go to Spain a lot and this was one of the better places. Spotlessly clean and plenty of room. Staff friendly. Slight incline up to door but no problem. The bus stops every 15 min outside and there is a taxi rank across the road which always has taxis available. It is around €6 to go into Salou. We used to finish off our days in Salou and get a taxi home and drop off whatever we had to and walk to the tiny village of Cap Salou which isonly a 2 min walk away. Thereare a few nice bars there and good value for eating. There is a small bar in the amusement area and we could let kids off for a while and have a pint. We would then go to a bar beside Mickeys and have the grub there. Very good value and staff very nice to kids. There was a pool table etc there so it was perfect for everyone. A short walk back to the hotel for the last one as the bar closes at midnight. Entertainment in the hotel was pretty lame but kids enjoyed it. The staff had bingo, Deal or No Deal and a disco etc and it could get loud but it was fine. I would return there without any problem. We rented a car and that really opened up our day time choices. If you have kids, a visit to the House of illusion is a must! A brilliant night out of magic, close up magic and comedy. it is in Salou and not far from here. Very happy with stay.
Loved the Hotel ALOT!
I recently stayed in the SunClub Apartments and I must admit they are defintly not a 4* Hotel they should be given the 5* it was absolutly amazing, wonderful hotel very modern, very clean lovely staff and lovely food at the restaurant at low prices :) Evening entertainment could be better but depends on the crowd also. Otherwise fantastic Charlie and Naiomi the entertainers were fantastic also A++++++ Regards Dave (McFly Boy) justdave@sotk.co.uk ^^^^ My Msn.
