Submitted By: Mr E LarkinCap Salou is resonable for foor and the quality is excellant. We found that the Paddock was good for eating out.
You must visit Kims Kareoke in Micky's bar.
Overall the Sun Club was excellent. They have a contract that everyone must sign on arrival and one of the rules is no booking of the sun loungers by placing your towels on them then leaving. This rule is not enforced and many where doing just that.
Thanks to all the First Choice Reps for all the good time that we had and we would certainly go there again.
There was glass in the pool but we cant blame the hotel all the time. When we where there, there where some older children drunk and making fools of themselves. I blame the parents for not having control.
It is a good idea to get a second door key from the reception for 3 euros that way your children wont be coming after you all the time when they want to go back and forth to the room.
I hope you will go again and if you remember me from July drop me a line and perhaps we could arrange to meet up again next year.

Submitted By: Mrs J PreslandSalou is very expensive, bus fares and soft drinks cost a fortune. The theme park and water parks are amazing. We would definately stay in Salou again but would try to stay someone half board or all inclusive as the food and drinks are just so expensive.

Submitted By: Miss Y DurhamAll staff very friendly and helpful. Maid service came in every day to empty bins and once during the week to change bedlinen/towels.
Location is ideal for getting to waterparks and Port Aventura as the bus stop is just outside and buses run every 10/20 mins throughout the day/night.
Cap Salou is a v. small resort and is v. hilly the little beach is only 5 mins away but is very steep to get down to. I have MS and found getting around the resort pretty difficult because it's so hilly.
We ate in most of the local restaurants and have no complaints whatsoever. Staff and food at Knights Inn recommended.
Only downside to Sunclub is the hotel opposite is v. noisy with loud music and annoying guy on PA system playing from 10am to midnight every day. We asked for groundfloor apartment which are actually downstairs, so not v. useful. The pool table and table tennis are directly outside the groundfloor apartment balconies, so be prepared for some noise at night.
We didn't go to the pool area, but it seemed v. clean, loads of sunbeds available.
Handy hints: There's no duty free when you arrive at Reus but the smoking room in the bar area at Sunclub has a vending machine selling packs of 20 and 200 for duty free prices - tobacco can be bought from reception.
Keep an eye on your posessions - we had our bag stolen from the beach - it was next to the sunbeds and we were all sitting there - v. clever!
We had a great holiday, but wouldn't go back only because it's a difficult resort for me to get around.
" Dirty, Overpriced, run down, loud,... "
Submitted By: Ms N O SullivanWhen we arrived (2 adults, 13yr old, 8 yr old and 6 month old), we were requested to pay €100 deposit!!, €50 for safety deposit box, plus more if we wanted extra towel or linen changes.
The apartment was filthy, had to clean it, the floor had not been washed after the previous occupants. The entertainment went onto 1/1.30 AM, very loud, and it was directly below us, our children were therfore up until this time playing cards as they could not get to sleep, who could!! The surrounding area was also very loud, with entainment from other hotels that could be clearly heard until the early hours.
During the two weeks we were there, the floors were not cleaned by the maid, the linen was only changed twice, we asked for a third change (these were the only three times the beds were dressed) and the towels were rarely changed also. The only thing the maid did was empty the rubbish. I didnt pay €2400 to clean floors and dress beds during my 2 week holiday, I do that the other 50 weeks of the year!!!
Althougth there is a television as advertised, there are no channels at all. The babys cot was filthy, you could see the handprints of suncream from previous users. The room was tiny, very claustrophobic.
The pool area was dirty, although the pool looked clean, it was too cold to swim. The sun loungers were broken and very dangerous with their jagged edges and arm rests that were barely hanging on. This is NOT a 4* accommodation, it would barely rate 2* in the UK or Ireland.
Supermarket very expensive, dearer than home, cheaper one 1 minute walk away, called Michaelanglos.
The area of Cap Salou was dirty and very expensive. Stay away from the Knights Inn, wouldn't serve the food there to a dog!!!
PortAventure was very over rated and full of very ignorant staff!!!!
The worst holiday ever, and our first bad holiday in 13 years of travelling. Never again.
" Loved our holiday at the Sun Club.... "
Submitted By: Mrs D WilkinsonOur apartment was clean, spacious and had everything we needed (fridge, microwave, stove, kettle, toaster), with a larger balcony than the surrounding hotels. Hotel staff were helpful and we had no problems at all (linen changed twice a week, towels every two days and bin emptied once a day). The pool was spotlessly clean and litter free, and we had no problems getting a sunbed when we wanted one, without having to get up early to 'book' one. The food served in the hotel was good, wouldn't say it was fantastic and although not overly expensive should have been more reasonably priced. The hotel supermarket was small, but sufficient, but we walked round the corner to a larger and better priced one and could be there and back in 10 mins.
Our kids loved the pool and had a lovely time in there, it was their first question in the morning 'can we stay in the pool all day?'. The entertainment was good and easy-going, although the stage was very small and the only let down was the cost of some of the extra's, bingo at 4 euros a go, 2 euros to play pool (which soon adds up with a 15 year old!) and 1 euro for only 10 mins on the internet.
Cap Salou is a quiet area, with some nice smaller beaches and pleasant to wander round, but not much else to do. We went into Salou on quite a few evenings, which was a short bus ride away, with the bus stop right outside the hotel. This is a much busier resort and we loved it for an evening out, but we were glad we weren't staying there as we enjoyed getting back to the prettier, more relaxing Cap Salou.
We would definitely return to the SunClub, it is an excellent base for your holiday whether staying by the pool all day or as a base for exploring. The bus stop for Barcelona/La Pineda/Terragon/PortaVentura/Salou are all right by the hotel making it very easy to go anywhere.

Submitted By: youngtraveler08the hotel is ideal for families although me and my partner went as a young couple ( both in our twenties) the staff at the hotel all speak fluent English and although the hotel may seem abit cheap and cheerful you get way more than you pay for, the hotel has a park for the children, a pool, Jacuzzi, and a childrens pool, then two bars with fantastic entertainment and a adult only bar for the evenings. it also has a hotel restaurant and hotel shop which are both brilliant.. the kids club at the hotel also needs praise the reps must work very hard as there was always something going on to entertain the children, the beach is only a short walk from the hotel and the hotel also has its very own bus stop with buses passing daily to salou, cambrillis( defiantly worth going to) and port aventura. all costing 2 Euro to the destination
there is also a bus which passes everyday to Barcelona with the PLANA bus company, it is the cheapest around and much better value then the trips with holiday companies
This holiday would have been certified as a 10/10 had it not being for the appauling behaviour and attitude of the representives and transfer staff of first choice, who treat us totally different then they treat any of the familys. the rep at the hotel was rude and very offensive and the transfer and airport staff were equally as un pleasant.
if thinking of going to this resort as a younger couple i would also say at looking into the H10 hotel in cap salou which looked equally as amazing as our hotel :)
Cap salou and salou are quiet cheap to eat in and if eating in cap salou i would suggest trying smugglers cove which is a family run amazing restaurant and of course the hotel restaurant
Me and my partner both took 300 pounds each and i came home with 90 pounds, thats including my bus fares, food, drink and presents for my family and friends ( and im a big spender)
If thinking of visiting the port aventura park i would defiantly encourage buying tickets before leaving the UK via the port aventura website, it is much cheaper..
if intrested in visiting this resort i would stronglly suggest going with thomas cook who also operate this area. I hope this review has been of help to you and i hope you enjoy your time in salou if this is the destination you choose

Submitted By: Mr T WilsonParty of 3, myself, my wife and our baby. The rooms were very dirty. My wife had to goto the supermarket to get some floor cleaner and mop the floor before we even unpacked our luggage. Very rarely did we see the maid. The towels were changed once the week we were there and beds were never changed.
This is a very noisy hotel, was wakened quite a few times in the night with kids running around and banging doors on the corridor. Also wakened our baby.
Food and alcohol is very expensive at the Sunclub. A pint of spanish beer 2.60 Euros and a packet of Walkers crisps 1.30 Euros!
The First Choice reps seemed to spend most of the day walking around trying to collect Euros for this and that. I felt like telling them can you do something with the parents and kids that doesnt involve money!!!!
Not much to do at Cap Salou only spend money in expensive bars and restaurants.
Won't be back to Sunclub or Cap Salou.

Submitted By: Mr C Deanthe price of things at the hotel: pint of lager 2 euros 60 chips, 2 euros 60, coke 2 euros 10
also they may as well not have a kids club as the reps seem totally disinterested except that is when it comes to them wanting euros as everyday there is always something that they want money off of you for ie: pizza night 8 euros per child they had about eight kids at this and bought one pizza for 16 euros from behind the bar for the lot of them nice little earner
the area itself has little to offer and what it does is expensive it is on average 3 euros 50 per pint and about 10 euros each to eat,
if you are unfortunate enought to be staying at the sunclub the best advice i can give you is walk to la pineda everyday basically come out of the hotel and turn left and keep going along that road la pineda is a better resort with more choice of things to do and places to eat etc. also there is a pub at the end of the road called the knights inn go down the side of their and down some steps and you will find a nice little beach with hardly anyone on it
overall i wouldnt stay at the sunclub again even if it was free or come to salou!!
