The rooms at the Barcelo are very clean and spacious. That is the only good thing I can say about this hotel I’m afraid. The hotel staff were a little snooty and never seemed to have enough time to answer questions. When I arrived, after a very long journey, There was no one available to help me take my very heavy bag up to my room which was on the sixth floor.
The hotel is too far from everything that Barcelona has to offer. And if you need to take the taxis beware, as the drivers tend to take you on the most circuitous route and as they charge you by how much time it takes to get to your destination, it can be very expensive.
My advice would be to stay in one of the hotels nearer the centre and your holiday will be perfect. City fantastic, hotel not!

The hotel is rated as a 4 star. It is not. We were supposed to be in a superior room. I would call it basic. It was very clean.
The staff were a little bit snooty & did not seem to be too bothered about whether we enjoyed our stay or not.
The Hotel is near the Forum so a bit off the main Barcelona, however the Beach is opposite which was lovely. Walk about 10 yards up the road & you can get a Tourist bus (23 Euros for 2 full days use each, on all routes).
This one is on the Green Route which goes to Port Olympic, you can change their onto the Blue Route which goes to The Ramblas. A taxi to Port Olympic is about 6 Euros & you can walk to La Ramblas in about 20 mins (well we'd had a few).
Also from Port Olympic you can catch the night bus back to The Forum for 1.25 Euros. The night bus runs every 30mins to about 6.30am. The Tourist bus runs until about 9.30pm.
I would not recommend the hotel but we just love Barcelona, this was our second visit in 6 weeks & next time we will go for at least a week.
