The hotel was most convenient to temple bar which is a main area of Dublin, plenty of restaurants, fabulous food, bars, etc all you could ask for and more. Shopping super sightseeing second to none, take a train journey to the south of Dublin and the scenery is fantastic.
With bus tours for many different areas of Dublin you would be very hard to please if you did not find something to suit you . The people are very friendly and helpful and such a soft lilt in their voices so nice to listen to. I could go on and on but why not go and take a visit yourself , you will not be disappointed.

This hotel is ideally placed for seeing the sites of Dublin, with Christchurch Cathedral across the street, the river at the end of the street and the famous bar district of Temple Bar around the corner. The hotel itself is steeped in history as it was where Handel played 'Messiah' for the 1st time.
The hotel is very tastefully decorated and the breakfasts & service are first class. The bar area was decorated in an oriental theme and was open to non-residents and got quite busy in the evenings, although this added to the Irish atmosphere. The non-residents were kicked out at closing time, but the residents were allowed to drink as long as we wanted.
I would say this hotel is idea for all people looking for a base to explore this amazing city. Already planning my return trip.

We travelled to Dublin in September 2006 for a 4 day break.
We flew with Ryan Air. When we checked in we were advised that we should have packed two suitcases and not one and that we had also not paid for our luggage for the flight. We thought this was included in a package holiday so beware! The flight was good and the staff very friendly.
We arrived at Dublin Airport and had booked a car. This was a very expensive option and would not advise this unless you are intending to go further afield than Dublin alone.
On arrival at the hotel we were disappointed at the standards of the room. The wallpaper was generally shabby and coming away from the wall. The shower never seemed to have any hot water no matter what time you used it.
The hotel was surprisingly quiet considering they have an on-site night club.
The drinks were surprisingly reasonable in the hotel bar/nightclub and the atmosphere was good to begin your night with.
The hotel was not that close to Temple Bar but close enough to walk in the evening. Food and drink is very expensive there and we found that you will save money by eating before 7pm and shopping around.
There are lots and bars and clubs to entertain you and we enjoyed soaking up the irish atmosphere in the Temple Bar pub especially.
As we had use of the car we ventured out to Wicklow and visited the gaol. This was a unique experience and would advise this trip as it was nice to see a bit of local history.
There is plenty to do in Temple Bar but like any major city it is expensive so beware!
