This hotel is quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was unfortunate to be stuck here for a week on business during the Ryder Cup.
The rooms were horrid and last decorated in the 1970's. Very small with limited space to put even a suitcase. I was moved four times due to the state of each room.
All four rooms had various faults including broken shower, broken windows boarded up with cardboard, and sellotape. TV didn't work and bed broken. The 5th room I was in was a huge family room quiet but still horrible.
The staff are unpleasant and unhelpful as the batteries on my TV remote were dead so I called to ask for new ones - it took 3hrs and numerous calls to chase them up. They simply don’t care by the look of them.
The location is about 50yards away from the top of O'Connell Street and you can hear it all night. if you're a sound sleeper or have good ear plugs this is the place for you.
The food is what I expected and if you are in a hurry first thing on the morning forget it. It took 30-40 mins for breakfast some mornings and some guests just walked out. There is a pub/restaurant next door that serves bar food which is OK for a quick fix but not for a main meal.
Overall, avoid this place as it is a contender for the worst hotel I've ever been in and there are much better hotels in Dublin for less money.

First trip to Dublin, and what a great place it is. The hotel is situated north of the river, but is within walking distance of Temple Bar.
The Comfort Inn isn't going to win any prizes in the exclusive hotel category, but it did live up to its name in that it was comfortable. The rooms were basic, but I firmly believe that you get what you pay for, and this was no exception.
The breakfasts were ok, but a bit small for the money. The bar didn't overcharge on drinks. Reception was helpful and courteous.
£64,000 question - would I stay here again. Yes, I would. Who visits Dublin with the intention of staying in the hotel room - you can stare at your own front room for free!! Reasonable price for a reasonable hotel. Save your money to spend on 'the black stuff'.

A pleasant airport on arrival with good bus links to the centre of the City. Buy family day tickets for best value.
The Hotel was located at the top of O'Connell Street and was within walking distance of all attractions to Grafton Street and the surrounding area.
The city can easily be navigated on foot.
If you’re not into not stop drinking visit the following:
Taylor’s Irish Night - located around 6 miles outside of the City this large pub offers traditional Irish entertainment and attracts people from all over the world. A very good 3 course meal and over 2 hours and dance and song is not cheap, at around 45 euro each, but it is memorable. The pub has its own taxi rank and it is about 15 euro to get back to the city.
Viking Splash Tours - A World War 2 amphibious vehicle takes you a circuit of the Dublin Viking sites. It takes you off road and into the Liffe. Great for older kids. Costs around 20 euro but cheap deals available for early starts.
Killmanoan gaol - A short bus ride out of the city this is an excellent half days tour. You get to see the cells where some of the most important activists in Irish history were housed. Excellent guides give you a clear understanding of the history of this country. Only costs around six euro.
Search out the side streets for better value meals as eating and drinking is as pricey as Paris.
Don’t bother with the Guinness factory unless you are a die hard fan.
Friendly people, clean city , plenty to do for a short break but pricey. Try to get breakfast with your room, it will save you a fortune.

My son booked this hotel through a travel Agent for us as a Christmas present. It was a weekend treat for 2 nights Bed and Continental Breakfast. Its location was recommended by the travel agent providing close proximity to Dublin City Centre. This was OK. When we arrived we where greeted very courteously by the receptionist who accepted our details pointed us in the direction of the room. But on entering the hotel I noticed on the opposite side of the street a 'Lap Dancing Club' and I began to worry. This of course did not feature in their photographs of the street. The room was clean and tidy. But that night and the next night the noise was horrific, from 11:00pm until 3:30am in the morning the shouting and loud voices never stopped from revellers at the club. We never slept and in the morning complained. But too no avail. Next breakfast, what a disaster, we where offered a Full Irish , which consisted off when I got was one sausage sliced in three, a slice of bacon shredded, slice of white pudding and tomato, beans and to top it off some chips. Chips for breakfast no thanks. Someone should explain what a Full Irish is? The breakfast was €10.95, was totally cold and I complained. They came back with it reheated. Several others that morning also complained and to quote them "It was rotten". Next night no sleep again only this time it went on until 4:00am. Checked out on Sunday morning after my son paid £230 sterling which is approximately €300, what a waste of money. Complained to the receptionist, but I reckon it will get no further. My advice to all "DO NOT SAY HERE"
