Cassidys Hotel

The big issue that really spoilt our stay was the heat in the rooms. Even with the radiators turned off the temperature was constantly in the late seventies throughout the day and night. Trying to sleep in that heat was a major problem. We complained to the hotel but nothing could be done about as the temperature was controlled centrally and could not be adjusted for individual rooms. Apparantly it was not the radiators but the pipes running along the walls of the rooms was the problem. The staff were pleasant and the rooms themselves couldhave done with updating. We would not return. One good point was the location which was central. Breakfast buffet style was very nice.

The Cassidys Hotel is located at the top end of O'Connell street which is a good base for sightseeing.The hotel is old building and from the exterior it has a lot of character. The staff on reception were helpful and efficient and friendly. The rooms which had tea and coffee making facilities were an average size and looked a little tired and in need of a makeover. Our real gripe was the heat in the rooms which we could not control due to the hot pipes going round the wall. Even with the radiator turned off the pipes remained hot and for us this was a real problem and made sleeping nearly impossible. I am sure when the heating is turned off in the summer this would not be an issue but for autumn and winter we could not recommend this hotel. Breakfast was buffet style and was more than adequate.the best point about the hotel was the staff.

Eight of us went for four days for a birthday celebration. The hotel staff were wonderful
nothing was too much trouble.
They arranged a birthday cake to be brought to the table and the staff came and sang happy birthday to our friend.
They arrange for us to go to a show and it was great and another birthday cake arrived.
Nothing was too much trouble and if you asked for anything it appeared within five minutes.
The breakfasts were very good everything you could want. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Information on buses and places were at hand.
Would stay there again without hesitation.
