This was a four-day break to Dublin/Ireland for the first time. The hotel was first class and lived up to its 4 star rating.
However we weren’t able to take full advantage of all the faculties, due to the time we were there and we felt the next time we go a more modest hotel would be just as acceptable. One thing the hotel did have was its own theatre - we booked in for a meal and show and it was very good. (A definite plus to be able to drink, then walk home in 3 minutes!)
Dublin’s a lively and friendly city and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves but you do need to be aware that down pours are quite common and sudden! An evening walk and drink in the Temple Bar area is a must and you can’t go to Ireland without a trip to the Guinness Factory, preferably on the open top bus.
Shopping is excellent and I could have spent a weekend just looking in all the clothes shops but my husband wasn’t up for it! All in all a definite city not to miss.
