Having been to Marmaris two years earlier I could not wait to get back there. First impression when we got to the hotel were that the rooms were a little on the small side but at least they were clean and we had a great view from the balcony.
From the moment we stepped into the hotel the staff were great from the receptionists to the bar staff and the waiters. The cleaners changed our towels and bedding regularly and kept the room clean and tidy.
I feel I need to mention the travel agent over the road from the hotel. "Mr Fish" organised all of our excursions and we got excellent value for money, much cheaper than the excursions offered by the reps.
Our rep was friendly and was brilliant at organising an early flight for one of our party who had to return home early because of a death in the family.
Despite other posts in this review forum I had a great time. I also got the impression from talking to other guests that they were having a great time also.
10/10 for turkey and 9/10 for the hotel.

I was really enjoying my holiday in Marmaris (although it was much more expensive than what I had been told) until an incident occurred.
Thomas Cook are a really bad operator as far as me and my 9 friends are concerned.
The hotel was mainly English if not all English, so why for the breakfast do they supply bread, olives and spam!!
A really bad incident occurred to one of my friends while we was on our holiday and Thomas Cook never helped with the situation, Two of my friends actually got moved out of our hotel because of the incident and they were made to go to a hotel about 2 miles away from us on a bus!
Not only that but the hotel they moved them to was full of German and Dutch holiday makers so my two friends couldn’t talk to anybody.
All that my poor friend and the rest of us wanted to do was get back home to England to our families - Thomas Cook are a massive company and I am sure they could of sent us home - their argument was that there was no flights until Friday to Manchester (fair enough but they could have sent us to another airport then arranged for us to get to Manchester)
Also Thomas Cook should have moved the remaining 8 of us out of Sidero Hotel where the incident occurred and the staff were treating us badly.
Needless to say that nobody myself or my friends know will ever book a holiday with Thomas Cook again. They do not screen the staff that work in the hotel and things were going missing from the rooms all the time, then once you complain to the reception man, as if by magic the items you complained about re-appear, hairdryers, clothes, money and Jewellery!!
The staff appear to be very friendly but be warned and please trust me, they are not. You have to be so careful, to the point where my friends and I were sleeping with the Balcony door locked and suitcases up against our doors (sounds silly but if you knew what happened you would understand)
You have been warned about Sidero so Good luck if you are going there (you need it!!)

First things first!!! I STRONGLY advise that you do not go to the Sidero Hotel in Marmaris!! This hotel needs to be closed down!! better still knocked down!!! The staff were utterly outrageous to us.
There was a large group of us who travelled to turkey with high expectations after going the previous year. After travelling for over 24 hours (due to delays) with very little sleep we didn’t even receive a hello from the staff and most of us had to carry our suitcases to our room ourselves! The room were revolting with strange stains all over the walls!
The welcome meeting from our rep was a load of rubbish too. She barely touched on Marmaris as a resort as all she was interested in was us booking loads of trips with her!!
We made our holiday as best we could and met some lovely people at the hotel, who were also disgusted as the state of the hotel!
During the 14 days we had an utterly horrific time, which unfortunately I cannot divulge for legal reasons. All I will say is any young girls or families with teenage daughters do not visit this hotel!!
This place is without a doubt HELL ON EARTH!
The only 2 members of staff who deserve credit are rainbow & Michael, these two guys gave us loads of support during our ordeal, the rest of the staff I wouldn’t give them the time of day as the r all as bad as each other!
One final note, THOMAS COOK...... these people need to take a few lessons in customer care and learn how to deal with complains as I'm sure they will have many more to come, and that’s not just from me and my friends!!!!

Overall I think that the Sidero Hotel was wonderful it had a lovely friendly atmosphere. We arrived there early hours in the morning but where greeted very friendly by the staff and our cases where carried to our rooms for us.
The pool area is lovely and most of the time was even hard to find a spare sunbed. The pool was ideal for both adults and children was a great size and was very clean.
Our room was basic but very clean with clean bedding and towels where changed every two days.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sidero Hotel the staff made it a wonderful atmosphere we also hope to return next year.
I would advise this hotel for any couples or families staying in turkey.

We chose this hotel because it had good reviews on 'Holiday Truths '. We found the complete opposite of the comments made. After a 3hour delay we arrived at 5am and were greeted by the night reception guy who was asleep with head on arms on the reception counter. We were also tired but had no help with the luggage, but we were not getting paid to stay awake and greet guests.
The room was small and not particularly clean. The shower was leaking on to the floor, which we didn’t complain about as we expected something like that, we have been to Turkey several times, but had to report that there was no water coming out of the cold water tap in the washbasin. Also the toilet was running all of the time. After 3 days we eventually had the tap repaired. We then had to ask for our bed linen and towels to be changed on the 4th day ( although the towels were badly stained to begin with). Most of the staff seemed to spend their time ' fooling around ' we don’t class this as being friendly.
There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge, although several people could be seen in the office eating and doing jigsaws.
How Unijet could rate this hotel as 3*+ we do not know, needless to say it will only have Thomas Cooke clients next year.
To top it all, 4 nights before the end of the fortnight at 5am (our room was directly above the reception area with a flat roof canopy below the balcony) I opened my eyes to see, in complete darkness, a male figure outside the slightly opened patio door bent down and trying to open the door wider and then putting his hand on the suitcase, which he probably thought was a camera or similar. Fortunately I managed to yell out and he went over the balcony dropping a mobile phone in the process, so I knew I wasn’t dreaming.
The main thing is that security was non existent, my husband went down to reception, after calming me down, and the same guy who greeted us when we arrived , was asleep on the couch in reception, no lighting on inside or out, if he had been doing his job this would not have happened.
We feel that we won’t be going to Turkey again, especially not Marmaris, although the one good thing about the holiday was the weather, perfect.

Wonderful hotel, very friendly towards children. The staff couldn’t do enough for you.
Room’s basic but clean, maids change bed linen and towels every day.
Bar a price very cheap (40 pence for a lager) which was lovely. Breakfast consisted of cereal, fruit bread and eggs, Jakes is next door and a full breakfast is £2! Hotel lunch and dinner very nice but cheap to eat out and sample Turkish hospitality.
Hotel puts on entertainment, though no children’s clubs, although the staff make up for this in many ways.
Don’t change travellers cheques in the hotel as you get a better rate at the bureaus along the streets.
All in all a wonderful holiday and we booked as soon as we came back for next year.

Firstly, when we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly by the receptionist, Gokhan. We had help carrying our bags up to the room.
The room was quite small but clean and we only were sleeping in it so that wasn’t a big problem.
The staff were great, very helpful and lovely towards us. Other people had complained about certain members of the staff but to me they were lovely.
Jason, Eddie, Rainbow and Alex were always there when you need them. They would do absolutely anything for you!!
I will definitely going back to Marmaris again. If not the Sidero Hotel!
I would recommend this to all ages!!
