Lady Diana Hotel is in a great location for sightseeing, just a minute to the Blue Mosque , Saint Sophia and Hippodrome.The tram stop is 100 m from the hotel.The Grand Bazaar is 2 stops away and gets 3 minutes by tram and also 5-10 minutes by walk. Recently stayed in Hotel Diana,in Istanbul, and had a wonderful stay and experience thanks to the hotel and the staff itself. I was picked up from the airport and brought back (on my departure date) from the hotel staff which was excellent! I found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable, in a great location, really friendly staff members and a high quality hotel. I stayed at this hotel for 5 days in july 2007. My first meeting with the receptionist was not so pleasent, I guess we just didn't have the chemestry. After this meeting I decided to keep a distance to the people working there, and from there on I had no complaints. Everybody was polite and helpful. My room was ok, it was quiet in the nighttime. We stayed at the Lady Diana in early November, well past the big tourist season in Istanbul, so we were probably spared some of the problems summer travelers often encounter. Nevertheless, I felt the staff was rather aloof. We arrived mid-morning and were able to get into our rooms immediately, which was nice since we wanted to get started sight-seeing. My fiancee and I stayed recently at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul with a few disclaimers. Lady Diana is very well located - just blocks from the Blue Mosque. The restaurant views were amazing. It was Ramadan when we stayed there but were not bothered in the least by any of the celebratory noise. We booked this hotel through our travel agent 6 months prior to travelling. When we arrived we were told that they were fully booked, and that they had a person who was sick who was occupying our rooms. The concierge then said that he would organise for us to spend the night in another 5 star hotel and offered us a drink in the roof top restaurant whilst we waited. Let's get the good points out the way: the location is wonderful. In the heart of Sultanahmet, just a couple of hundred metres from the Blue Mosque and in close proximity to all the historical sites. Lady Diana (what a strange name for an Istanbul hotel!) is a cute small European-style hotel. It still has “a new car smell” and is, indeed, very nice and clean. All public areas are decorated with taste and are very comfortable. The hotel’s biggest assets are location and views. We stayed in the Ferhat Hotel for 4 nights as part of an Istanbul & Northern Cyprus package, the hotel is conviently situated for a lot of the tourist sites, Blue Mosque, Agia Sphia, Topkapi Palace, etc. However, our stay was spoilt by the fact that my mobile phone was stolen from my room whikst we were out to dinner in the evening.
