Creta Royal Hotel Reviews
" We had a great relaxing holiday... "
Submitted By: Miss C Handley
We had a great relaxing holiday staying at this four/five star hotel and the weather was superbly hot!
The hotel is situated right along the sandy stretch of beach, fabulous pool area which was very quiet with hardly any children (although we did go in September). More often than not we were unable to actually swim in the sea due to strong currents and most days we would see a red flag and would be whistled at if we did so. But when you could it was great to jump the waves!!
The Hotel room was basic but clean although the shower was poor. It was either very weak or cold or both! Having booked a sea view room/pool view made up for this.
The food we thought was very good for Greek standards although towards the end of our 11 night stay it did become a little samey. Due our all inclusive option, drinks were available up until midnight...the cocktails, served at the bar, and wine served by the bottle during diner, was excellent although the shorts unfortunately were flat.
The hotel is dominated by Germans which did not worry us whatsoever as we like to keep ourselves to ourselves. Next door (literally) was the Creta Star which is a big hotel which provided distant noise during the day due to the activities, which again didn't really bother us. If desired you could use the facilities at the Creta Star but the drinks would be extra.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The service was very good. We tried to extend our stay to 14 nights whilst we were there as we were having such a lovely, relaxing time but unfortunately there was no availability.

Firstly the staff, the staff was expectional and very pleasent and as well offering their help which made you feel very speical and welcoming!
Next was the room this was fine and was just right with the basic needs such as bathroom with shower and bath, beds, hair dryer, drinks filled in the fridge if you were all fully inclusive.
Mostly though which made my holiday was the view it was amazing looking over the pool and sea as we had a sea room this made up if you thought the room was basic! Taking the option of the sea view is recommend!
The hotel itself was small with about 120 rooms and this meant you always had sun beds whcih no one reserving them unlike us english, the hotel is mainly full of germans, italians, belgiums, russians and a few english
All inclusive was great as that you had early breakfast if you wanted , breakfast, late breakfast, snacks at the poolbar, lunch, tea and cakes (erm .. only the english were there), night tea, midnight snacks, drinks being offered at the pool bar from 10 til 5.30pm which had a wide range of drinks to suit your needs! Another great offer the hotel offers is that you can loan the towers for and dispossal of 20 euros for the time you stay at the hotel and that includes the hotel cleaning the hotel and you changing the towels as many time as you want in the day and them giving you a fresh towels.
Sunbathing can either be by the pool or on a seleted green grass area ,we was located by the sea water pool as that there are two pools -one sea water pool and one clear water pool!
While you are staying at the creta royal you can use the facilites of the next door sister hotel the creta star with such things like drinks, pool and other things, the evening entainment is located in the creta star but does finish at around 10.30- 11pm so if you have teenagers its quite!
Therefore i would really recommend this hotel! Its worth its 5 star rating too!
