We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay in albufeira and one of the big plus points for us was the proximity of these apartments to everything we needed - 10 mins to beach, 10 mins to bus terminal where we caught buses to several places along the coast and two... more

Having read some of the reviews including an especially vitriolic one from someone who stayed there in April, I prepared myself for the worst, took rubbers gloves and set off with some trepidation. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Basic self catering in my opinion... more

it was ok for the price.
we booked last minute so didn't really expect much. but for £256 for four of us for seven nights. it was a well spent bargain. we arrived to very friendly and helpful staff. who gave us lots of tips and advice about the area. the appartment block was over the road from reception. but there were a few zebra crossings on the road. we used the lift to the second floor. where we found room 207 on the end of the corridor. we were all impressed with the good size of the appt. our two girls instantly started jumping up and down on the bright yelloy sofas. which they claimed as their beds. i went onto the good size balcony which overlooked a small infant school, a crazy golf park with more appartments behind it. and the mountains in the distance. so i was quite satisfied with what we'd got. my wife checked out the kitchinette, bathroom and bedroom which also had it's own private balcony. no view at all from there. but it wasn't a problem. we went for a walk down the hill for about 150mtrs. and found the supermarket. it was a bit small and busy. but very well stocked. wine £1.20, sangria £1.15. need i say more? oh! and a big freezer full of huge shrimps. so we bought a small BBQ for about £3, some charcoal and a big bag of shrimps each night. and cooked them on the balcony for supper. mmmmmm delishious! downtown albufeira was colourful and vibrant. a great night out for families, couples or anybody for that matter. all kinds of nationalities were found there. it was great to see a place that wasn't full of english idiots in football shirts. looking for fish and chips. i wish they'd stay in blackpool. back to the appt. the rooms have no air con. and the windows are single glazed. so it's quite hot and you can hear every noise from outside. that causes a problem in the morning. if you want to sleep past 6:30. i woke up to what sounded like somebody cutting down the trees with a chainsaw. i tried to get back to sleep. but it kept on and on until about 7:15. i thought it was a one off as it was monday morning. so i forgot about it. but next morning, there it was again. so i crawled out of bed to see what it was. went to the bedroom balcony and there was a road sweeping van parked right below us. the suction was at full speed. and he just wasn't moving. it really was very loud. i don't know if the driver has a girlfriend in the appartments. but he didn't move for about 25 minutes. i realised that i wasn't the only person looking to see what was going on. but i might have been the only naked one. so i got back into bed. and put my pillow over my head until he left. this happened every morning. but i stayed in bed and gritted my teeth through it. that was the only thing that spoiled a very enjoyable week. if i'd payed full price i might have been a bit upset about it. but it wasn't the hotels fault. overall, the place was clean and well equipped. the pool area was small but fun. a bit far from the town but easy to access with lots of parking for the car. the ajoining restaraunt had great food. and the sunsets from the main balcony were stunning every night.

omg we had the worst appartment going but was clean and tidy the staff are great and very funni and amusing dont stop there because of the cockraoches and the crickets also is alot of noise from neighbouring apartments
good location
We stayed here for one week commencing 14th June 2007. A one bedroom apartment that would sleep four persons for £5 per night! How fab is that? Basic accommodation, no t.v. Clean and well maintained. Quite a bit of noise from passing cars. Good reception, pool area and bar.
dreadful!!!!!
We have just returned from our holiday at 'quinta bella vista' apts where we have spent the most dreadful two weeks holiday ever!! The smell is that of raw sewage, shabby and dirty appartments - so bad we did not dare sleep beneath the sheets as the mattress of the beds was smelly, damp and covered in stains. Inside the oven was thick with fat,oil and burnt - the smell when turned on made our eyes water. The older man on reception was miserable and abrupt and the bar was similar to a 1970's conservatory - seats were a bench with cushions placed around the window. The thompson brochure does by no means give the correct impression - we hated it- such a waste of money and as it is too distustinging to cook or eat in spent a fortune eating out every night. Stay half board somewhere you will save so much money and experience a much nicer holiday accomodation. the pool often had leaves and sweet papers floating on the top and there was never a sunbed if you arrived after 1.30pm. Also non of the sunbeds had a mattress so if you're thin they're very uncomfortable. Hellish walk uphill to and from beach - stay elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!
Dont stay at the Quinta Bela Vista Hotel
After arriving at the Quinta da Bellavista Apartments at 9.00pm on 8th October 2006 we were showed our apartment. This was across a very busy main road from the reception area. Straight away we noticed a smell which resembled a sewer. The studio apartment had no beds - only a bed settee with the most old and worn bed linen. We informed the reception about it and said we were not happy with it. He said he would go over and look in to it. We went for a meal and when we returned the person on the reception said it was chemicals which were making the room smell. I told him it smelt like a sewer and I have never smelt chemicals which smell like sewers. The next day I told the rep that we were not happy staying in a room which smelt so awful and we would like to move. She said that if we move it could cost us up to £500 as there was no availability in the resort. I pointed out to her that I had been to an internet café and there was lots of availability in the resort. She said the best she could offer was a room change but this would not be till Thursday. As we had no other choice we had to buy lots of air freshener and wait till Thursday. Upon arriving at our new room (which did not smell) the fridge broke down. We informed the reception who sent the engineer to fix it. On Saturday it broke again and yet again the engineer came and fixed it. The fridge broke again on Monday so I went to the reception and explained that it was not good enough that the fridge had broken down three times and that I had a weeks supply of food in it. He said to wait in my room and he will send the engineer to me in 10 mins and he will bring a new fridge with him. He arrived 35 mins later with another man. He then took a pack of bacon out of the fridge. He placed this on his cheek and said in broken English that the fridge was ok. I told him that the receptionist said he was to be replacing my fridge and he replied “I do not speak English”. I said the same to the other man and got the same reply. I then rang the reception and told them to tell the two men to replace my fridge. They replaced the fridge but I had to throw some of the food away as it was starting to go off. I then had to buy more. One other point is that if you do decide stay in the Quinta da Bellavista Apartments make sure you lock your windows. On the Thursday before we left there was a couple with a young girl with them. The mother had awoken with the daughter and was in the kitchen area with the daughter when a burglar climbed through the open bedroom window. The man awoke to see him going through the wardrobe but because it was dark thought it was his wife. When he heard his wife speak he realized it was a burglar. When he jumped up the burglar jumped through the open window and escaped with a small amount of cash. This also left the young mother traumatized.
no steps
just returned fantastic weather but the apartments were very basic and we were not warned about all the steps. never mentioned the steps in skytours and we were travelling with our young children with pushchairs so it was a bit of a tow! we were also unaware that we had to leave a 50euro deposit upon arrival.
great holiday
Quinta da Bellavista Apartments very nice apartments and lots of space. the apartments were very clean maids in everyday, pool was nice not many sunbeds so you had to reserve them. the staff were really nice. the strip was a little far away but very good for a nightout. the new town was a bit boring for us!!. the food was nice and quite cheap.

Great holiday
Apartments slightly shabby from outside, but not inside. One bedroomed apartments extremely spacious. Reception accross the road but did not cause a problem. Bar staff could not be nicer, cheap beer. Pool superb, kids loved it. Will keep you fit walking to and from Old Town and The Strip. Great time had by all hoping to revisit again.
