Great Location and Apartments
9 / 10
Oct 2011, Tiffany

Me and my boyfriend (20's) stayed here June 2011. We were pleasently surprised!
We were greated by friendly staff and shown where are room was. We were on the third floor. The lift only went up to the second floor then we had to go up stairs for the thrid floor which wasnt a problem.
The apartment was alot bigger than we imagined and very clean! Bedroom was big, bathroom was big and living area!We were very happy. Are beds were made every day without fail towles were changed if we left we left them in the bath. We never actually got to see the maides so we belived they only entered our room if we left. The view from our balcony was beautiful!
We never used to pool as it was quite small and children splashing around as they do so we just kept to the beach.
The only thing negative i would say about the apartments is lack of hot water. We would only get use of it for a max 10 mins! Although as weather was really nice we didnt let it spoil anything.
The staff we spoke to were always helpful and friendly. They even let us loan a travel adapter for free as we didnt have one with us.
Location
Location was perfect for us! There was a supermarket just down the road which was resonably priced. The beach was a 10/15 min walk down hill. Was a loverly walk through the town. However a long day on the beach and out in the sun was tiring and we didnt like walking back up the hill to the villa so we started to get taxi's which was only $3 euros! The taxi rank is situated by the beach and all the restaurant, Lovely food down there, all good prices and good quality!
The strip which plenty of bars, restaurants and night life was a 20 min walk in the opposite direction of the beach. We always walked down there and got the taxi back which once again was no more than $4 euros.
The hotel offers trips to local attractions. We went on a trip through the hotel to Aqualand (waterpark). Cant remember the exact price but it was very resonable. An open top coach picked us up in the morning and dropped us off in the afternoon. Aqualand itself was a lot quiter than we imagined as we went on a Saturday. Overall it was i nice day, didnt have to que for anything. Food was expensive. We ordered 2 burgers and chips, lemonade and Water which came to $22!! We were caught out as burgur and chips are 2 seperate meals.
Overall would definately recommend thsi hotel and plan on coming back sometime in the future!

We usually go to Portugal twice a year, alternating between Albufeira and Praia Da Rocha. After reading the reviews for Quinta De Belavista believe me i was scared of what we would find when when got there!Actually it is a fantastic place and we WILL be returning very soon. The brothers and their barman are extremely friendly, VERY dry sense of humour and make you feel very welcome. The apartments are basic yes,but they are clean and functional, you get what you pay for!! They are cleaned every day except Sunday. A few of the reviews said that they had problems with the hot water but we had constant hot water. The pool is small but very nice, very clean and plenty of sun loungers, good entertainment, ideal for both old and new town, prices at the bar very good. Loved it!!

We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay in albufeira and one of the big plus points for us was the proximity of these apartments to everything we needed - 10 mins to beach, 10 mins to bus terminal where we caught buses to several places along the coast and two supermarkets at the end of the road! One of the supermarkets, incidentally, had a fantastic cafe where we got a huge salmon steak cooked to order, plus rice, chips and salad,a dessert each and a 75cl bottle of chilled wine for just under 12 euro for the two of us!! We found that eating out was so cheap compared to most other europeans countries that we didn't really use the self catering facilities for cooking, but I was impressed that the apartments had a full size cooker, toaster and electric kettle, so we could have made proper meals if we has wanted to. The studio apartment we rented was plenty big enough for two of us and the only down side was that the shower ran out of hot water quite quickly, but we worked out that if neither of us spent ages in the shower, we could both get a hot one.
All in all, this was a great base and I would definitely recommend it - the owners are very friendly and helpful with superb english. As the weather was not scorching, we didn't use the pool but it was nice to sit by with a large beer!

My husband and I, are just back from these apartments. At 1am in the morning there were no reception staff to meet us,we stood outside the reception area for half an hour, thankfully (our) mini bus driver was on hand to help and after several phone calls one male member of staff appeared we were furious, but were told the reception area is locked up after 12pm, so be very careful and double check on arriving there will be someone there to give you keys etc, especially parents with young kids. The apartments are in desperate need for refurbishing, didnt like the idea of crossing a very busy road every time you wished to sit a the pool, or snack bar, found it strange that the apartment door had a double mortice lock, a spy hole plus a chain.Small verandah with one table and only one chair to sit in, bear in mind these apartments sleep 4, bunk beds are in the hall when entering the apartment please kkep that in mind for any parent that has a couple of boisterous kids . The plus was the weather, the strip and old town beautiful the people in general friendly this experience will not put me of, as this is our third visit to portugal, will never book the apartments again.

where you can drink and chat to the locals till 04 00 in morning.dont be put off that the appartments are seperate from the pool and reception its only a matter of yards, all in all

Having read reviews I was pleasantly surprised. The accommodation was very clean. Full size cooker, toaster, kettle and all the cutlery required. For a studio we had two bunk beds and two sofa beds. The pool is across the road but there is a crossing right outside. The pool is kept very nice. The brothers who own the apartments are very friendly. Accommodation is within walking distance for the strip and the old town. I would recommend these apartments to all.

Having read some of the reviews including an especially vitriolic one from someone who stayed there in April, I prepared myself for the worst, took rubbers gloves and set off with some trepidation. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Basic self catering in my opinion usually doesn't include a heater for when it's cold, a toaster, kettle and full size cooker with grill and oven as well as full crockery and cutlery and more than enough cooking utensils. Even a clean tea towel was supplied - a first indeed! A free map of the area was supplied by reception with Supermarkets and bus and 'Noddy' train stops marked which we found extremely helpful. The apartment was quite large and was clean although I was glad to note that it did indeed smell. In a hot country where cockroaches are common the hoteliers are required by law to use this interesting smelling disenfectant/deterrent on the floor to try to stop them coming in. I would be far more worried if it didn't smell and despite what others have said the smell of it most certainly isn't that bad. The cooker was clean, the apartment was clean (and cleaned a further 6 days out of 7) and the towels were very clean and crisp and were changed once in the week as were the sheets.
Yes - our apatment was across the road but there are a multitude of zebra crossings all over Albufeira including one directly in front of the reception area. The only time we used this in our entire stay was at peak times in the morning and afternoon and then not every day. Because the place relies on Tourism road users behaviours are excellent and there is never a problem with them stopping. The pool is quite small I agree and it is a fair walk down to the beach but the walk is well worth the effort if you can because the beaches in this area are absolutely beautiful, are spotlessly clean and never crowded. We never experienced bin men in the early hours but at about 8 am the road sweeping machine and the guy with the leaf blower started cleaning the streets but hey, that happened all over the town.
I would have to agree that despite all the good points about the apartment there were a few tiles in the bathroom and kitchen that were cracked but the apartments weren't built yesterday and replacing an odd tile after some years is not always possible. The hot water is not on a timer - it's in a boiler on the kitchen wall which delivers piping hot water and when you have run it dry for the bath or shower it will get cold. Give it time to heat back up and there's no problem. This is a common water heating system in Europe.
Forgive me if I sound defensive but I feel these apartents have been misrepresented. There was a mixed group of nationalities there (always a good sign) and some had been returning for years and we all had great fun and a wonderful relaxing holiday. I even joined in on the 'fun' night, something which I am usually allergic to, because of the lovely atmophere. The owners and staff try very hard to make the stay as good as possible and I believe they succeed. I booked a last minute cheap break with few expectations and some concerns because you get what you pay for and the experience more than exceeded my expectations whilst my concerns were unfounded. Would I go again? Of course.

family holiday
1 / 10
May 2009, lynne green

Myself and 10 members of my family are just back from algarve and stayed in these apartments for 2 miserable nights before paying to move to another hotel, we were placed on the third floor with 3 small children and a baby. The lift was a health hazzard it was tiny and we could only just fit a pram in with an adult, it took one of us goingup and down the lift 12 times to get our suit cases up to our room.
On entering the apartments the smell was so bad i was sick, the room was large but very basic it just wasnt child friendly. To get to the pool and reception we had to cross a busy road which was no good with the prams and kids and the noise from the main road was terrible at night.
The children were very upset and didnt want to stay in the apartments and after no help from the manager and no reps to help us,we decided to just leave and pay for another hotel ourselves, once we had moved we tried to make the most of the holiday for the kids sakes but it basicaly ruined our holiday....wouldnt recomend this hotel to anyone, it shouldnt even be 1 star never mind 3!

We were given the apartment straight across from the reception. The room was spacious, light and best of all it was spotless. I had read a few bad reviews for these apartments before booking but was pleased i had taken the chance to go. The beds were comfortable enough for a week, the apartment was kept clean and fresh towels were provided every day from the friendly maids. Pool area was kept clean and bartenders were extremely friendly. I would only criticise one aspect of our apartment and that was the noise of the bin lorries at the early hours of the morning. No major stress caused though. A lovely wee apartment for a relaxing week in the sun.

Just back from Quinta de Bellavista...
7 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr M Nichols

Just back from Quinta de Bellavista Apartments and despite the varied reviews thought it was OK. We did only have sofa beds and not bunk beds as advertised but were comfortable enough. Cleaners are there 6 days a week, found one bug in apartment but apart from that no trouble. Swimming pool is small (and cold) but very enjoyable and the bar staff are very funny and helpful, making the holiday a good one. Entertainment isn't the greatest but there is plenty to do in both the new and old town of Albufeira. Am sad to be back home :(
