Oura Parque Apartments

We were booked to stay at the Club Praia Da Oura...locally called the CPO (right on the ocean) but were advised at check in that this complex was fully booked (time shares) and we were being moved to the Oura Praia (sister hotel). The Oura is about 3 blocks up the hill away from ocean. We were somewhat disappointed at first for not being on the ocean but it worked out fine. DATE OF STAY: 17.6.07 – 1.7.07 (Weeks 24/25) We stayed at this resort via Club La Costa and hired a car at Faro and drove to the resort. You can pull up right outside of the main reception area, and if you are lucky park here. There are numerous parking spaces off the road here and a small parking area behind specifically for hotel guests. We always managed to find a place. I think it high time to write a report as we have taken advantage of our timeshare week at this hotel for the past decade, or so. We now spend a week early in each November in our top floor studio apartment as a chill out session, reading books and supping the local wine. A perfect location for that process. The room is great for the 2 of us. A curtained frame wall separates the lounge and lounge/kitchen, so it's virtually a one bedroom apartment. Myself, my husband and 2 children (9, 7) stayed at the Oura Praia in July this year. The hotel itself is magnificent. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment and it was the biggest and most modern apartment we've ever stayed in. We had loads of space and all the utensils in the kitchen were like new. There was even an iron and ironboard in it, a microwave, big fridge c/w freezer. There was even a starter wash up pack. There was loads of wardrobe space also. The bathroom was spotless. We stayed here with 2 young kids and have to say never again. Stayed in a one bed with a balcony on the top floor. Asked to be changed to a different apt but was not successful even though we explained that it was dangerous. Have to say the apt itself was fine and seemed to be kitted out pretty well.The pool was very crowded and uncomfprtable so could never really relax there. The staff weren't rude but just indifferent. im just back from a stay at the oura praia and had a great time we stayed in a studio which was a good size with sleeping area curtained off from the living area so it was like having 2 seperate rooms-the balcony was a full corner balcony so we had sea view from both sides and a balcony door off the bedroom and off the living area - the studio was well equipped with cutlery,dishes, toaster,kettle, washing up liquid, satellite tv with bbc 1 ( great for watchin eastenders!!) and air con the rooms were cleaned and towels changed... more

stayed in a one bed apartment, which was a very good size for 3 people. Very clean and comfortable, the complex wasn't overly busy so plenty of room around the pool. A quick stroll to the strip or a taxi ride to the old town. Best of both worlds really. Would definitely consider going back

I love staying at the Oura Praia I returned again this year in June having stayed before in 04 and in its sister property in April of this year. The location is so handy only a short wander into the strip area and a 3 or 4 euro taxi into albufeiras old town area. Beach was 5 or ten mins walk down through the sister hotel. (clube praia da oura) Entertainment in the hotel itself is more geared to an older generation yet the entertainment in the sister property is much more aimed at families. A bit of a late review for this hotel as we stayed for a week in September 2005 but as there is only one other review I thought I'd add a few comments! We had a taxi transfer pre-booked to the hotel. It turned up on time at the airport and the journey was good. The driver did drop us at the wrong hotel though. We were dropped at the sister hotel on the beach, Club Praira Da Oura. We arrived on Sunday 23rd October 2005. A family of four, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The transfer from the airport was about 45 minutes. On arrival at Oura Praia Hotel, the staff in reception were very welcoming and helpful. We had to had over 100Euro in case of any damage. We were not aware of this before we travelled.
