Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights (one single, one disabled) at £29.00 per night. The disabled room was very large, with an equally large bathroom which looked to be newly fitted (only gripe with the bathroom is why there is no walk-in shower?). For some strange reason I was also given a disabled room (perhaps so I could be close to the other room?) which was smaller although still reasonable. My room had a very unusual feature in that there were sliding wooden screens in lieu of curtains. Had a meal in the on site restaurant on Saturday night which was so-so as is usually the case in Whitbread owned restaurants. The full help yourself breakfast was better, although due to being misinformed about breakfast times the other guest was unable to have anything other than cereal, toast and coffee on the Monday morning. Having paid for 2 full breakfasts I asked the restaurant manageress if I could have a refund of the difference in price between a full and continental breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to have the full cost refunded. All in all a good stay and would definitely stay there again.

Very good value by del143

Stopped off at the Premier Inn on the way up to Yorkshire for the weekend. The service was professional and efficient from the receptionist who greeted us to the waitress who served us in the restaurant. The room was clean and spacious and dinner in the restaurant much better than we expected, actually pretty tasty and not all all pricey!

Only negative was being woken by the maid trying to get into our room to clean at 8:15 on the Saturday morning... seemed odd but didn't think much of it until I received a voicemail apology on my mobile later in the day...it was very thoughtful and much appreciated.

I wouldn't make a beeline to stay here as the location for a weekend away is not much to write home about but if you need to break a journey off the A1 this makes an excellent stopgap.

A convenient stopover by nellgb

Stayed one night here to break our journey and for the purpose it was just what we needed, though wouldn't have chosen that location for a longer stay. It had better public rooms than most Premier Inns we've stayed in and the meal deal was very good value. Friendly staff (as usual for Premier Inns) Our room was in a curious circular building, so a funny shape, but not a problem. Quieter than I expected, so close to a motorway. The shower was a bit like a water cannon which I couldn't sort out but fortunately there was a handheld shower as well. Why only one chair for a double room??

Good for the one night - but not when windy by BoldlyGO
8 / 10

One weekday night, with hotel reportedly full; our company had misbooked dates for a couple of people but the staff were unflappable, cheerful and as someone else checked out unexpectedly early soon had us all in. The first person to arrive who found she didn't have a bed to begin with was given a free strong drink to tide her over once all was sorted. When the rest of us arrived the reception team greeted us warmly and efficiently. My room was a twin, felt a bit small but ok for the one night. The downside was despite appearing to be tight shut the window still let enough air through for it to whistle when the weather changed at 5 in the morning.

We had dinner as part of a meal deal; the restaurant was ok; staff very good - the food satisfactory but not great. We sat and talked shop for some while afterwards in the bar area; again very freindly staff in there.

Breakfast was fine; nice porridge and reasonable choice. Check out was also ok.

Location is good for the A1(M) going north or south; a bit far out of Peterborough if you want to be central.

Very good VFM, fantastic £29 deal,Fun staff! Ex-full service hotel so great rooms, facilities. Decided to stay here as price was good, distance not too far out of centre. Would recommend for older travellers.

Easy access from the A1 by jjsw
6 / 10

Ideally located just off Junction 16 of the A1, very easy to find. Check in was easy, though delayed by the person in front who was determined to book into this Premier Inn despite having reserved at another (be warned there are 3).

My room was on the first floor (no lift) and was adequate. The TV was oversize for the space available and much of the room was tired - it is clealy an old/established motel. The desk was dominated by the TV which was annoying when I wanted to work and there were glass shelves which were dusty, though I think this was down to being glass rather than not being cleaned.

I will definately stay here again because it is so easy to access and i also ate at a delicious Indian in Stilton on the opposite side of the motorway junction.

dont believe the guarantee by linedanceangel

Premier have launched big ad campaign about how good their hotels are. We stayed just one night which was enough. The room looks really nice and the bathroom is great. However the beds are rock hard. It was actually painful to try and sleep in and the bed is the most important part of any hotel stay. The blurb says that they guarantee a good nights sleep or your money back but when we pointed out that the bed was too hard we just got told that's because they're new. So much for the guarantee. also if you want breakast you can't leave too early as it doesn't start till 8 am. We went hungry for our 2 hour journey onwards to Doncaster and a christening.

Does what it says on the tin... by boffpa

A right palaver to find, I used to see it from the A1 many years ago, so thought I new where it was. Since then the main road has been made into a motorway and the hotel is tucked up a side road, off an insignificant looking turning - some signs here might help!

Reception had no record of my booking, but was sorted and rate I paid online was exactly that displayed anyway.

Room was clean and bright, just like millions of other similar type rooms of multiple hotel groups around the world.

Location is rural, a car is a must - nowhere else to eat or drink for miles, and not a lot then!

Good hotel at a good price by SaintsRock
8 / 10

Near the A1 but not too near. We could not hear any road noise in our room. Plenty of parking.

Reception staff members very friendly and helpful. Reception itself nice but nothing special.

The room looks exactly like their advertising shots on the website. Big enough for us with a three year old. Clean with TV and tea/coffee but as with most hotels never enough tea/coffee/milk.

Bar area nice and plenty of seating, did get a bit rowdy but not unpleasantly.

The restaurant was good as well, menu was varied and they have a children's section.

Breakfast is extra but worth it as it's an all you can eat buffet style with hot and cold food. Under 16's eat free.

Overall a nice hotel and for the price we were certainly impressed.
