Just returned from a wonderful holiday in the Nirides Beach Hotel, first review I have ever written but feel I have to write this one. Everyone at the hotel treat the guests like family, they do everything they can to make your stay truly enjoyable, nothing is too much trouble! The hotel itself is lovely, everywhere is spotless and in a good location, the bus stop is just outside the hotel but its not far to walk into Kos town. if you prefer! The bbq night is great and very good value for money. We would recommend it to anyone and we can hardly wait to return!

Just returned from two weeks at this hotel and feel like I have left friends behind. We found the facilities excellent and the position overlooking the turquoise blue sea beautiful but what makes this family run hotel a cut above the rest are the people.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and nothing was ever too much trouble, with any small problems sorted immediately with a smile. The owners and management really do put their guests first.
Also highly recommend the Greek Night - great fun and very good value.
All in all, can't wait to return.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Niriides Beach Hotel in Psalidi Kos. The staff here are really helpful and cheerful nothing is too much trouble. Natalie and Joanne at reception are wonderful. The management team of Emerald and Stavros will make sure any problem(if any) is resolved speedly. Kiros at the pool bar will entertain and assist with any to do with the pool area. His snacks are really good and tasty. The cleaning of the hotel is excellent, sheets are changed every two days, rooms are cleaned daily. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone for a first class service done with a smile and a passion to please then this is the hotel for you.

We have been coming to Kos for the last 13 years staying on the island at least 24 trips. Having stayed in a variety of hotels within the Kos Town area with various price ranges we decided to stay at the Nirides Beach Hotel for our latest trip. I had read reviews on this hotel prior to arriving and to say the least we did not expect much but knowing greek hotels we hoped that it would be clean and the staff hospitable. Well we were really suprised with the warm welcome we recieved when we arrived. The room contary to the reviews was clean and although basic perfectly adequate for our needs. The following morning we went down to a typical greek continental breakfast. During our stay at the hotel the staff were friendly and attentive. The pool bar attendant Kiros was an excellent host nothing was too much for him. The reception staff could not have been more helpful. My wife and myself were so impressed with the good standard given by all the staff, the warmness of their attention that we have rebooked for next year. I find it disheartening to read negative reviews on small local hotels like the Nirides who are struggling to compete with the pressures of the All Inclusive brigade which to my mind offer a much reduced level of personal service to the ruination of the traditional local welcome. If travellers want carpetted rooms, central heating, air con then if they have the money to pay for it then dont knock the small provider who give many a traveller value for money like the Nirides Beach Hotel.

Overall not a bad holiday. Psalidi is a buzzing resort, next to Kos Town with some nice Tavernas. They all have the same menu but the quality of the food varies quite dramatically. The beach is just pebbles, so if you want sand you have to go into Kos. The weather was extremely hot in the 40's everyday (we'd forgotten how hot it got in Greece at this time of the year). The Hotel had a pool and good bar area and was clean and tidy with pomegranate trees around. We had a bungalow appartment which was clean and had basic facitilities to cook etc. It was cleaned 6 times a week. However, the thing that spoiled it for us was that the Niriides Beach Hotel talks about how it is a family run affair that give great service to their guests....we didn't find that at all. Infact the service we received when asking for basic help and advice was the feeling of being treated with contempt and indifference. For example, they tried to turn us out of our room on the last day (although we had paid for it) and until strongly challenged agreed we could keep it. Simple questions about using the telephone seemed like a hassle to answer (this was at reception) and it would have been nice to have been welcomed when we turned up and wished well when we left (by the night porter), rather than being grunted at. I don't usually post feedback on the internet, I was genuinely disappointed with their customer service and just wanted to make others aware so they know what to expect if they choose that Hotel.

I have been to Kos previously staying at the Iberostar hotel which was great. Kos town and harbour is lovely, a wide variety of restaurants all serving delicious food. The hotel was a let down, breakfast and the amenities were basic. The pool area is filthy when we arrived there was a film of scum all around the waters edge which after complaining a vague attempt to clean was made. The water is very murkey and it was only due to the excessive heat that I actually got in and out very quickly. The bedrooms are very basic and very difficult to get clean towels. I eventually threw mine in the shower covered in dirt which is tiny!!
I would return to Kos but not to the Nirides Beach hotel

The hotel itself is average. Before we went people said that its more like a 4star than a 3star hotel - unfortunately we disagree and think its more like a 2star.
Apparently some of the rooms have been refurbished but we had a rather grotty, small room.
The cups that came with the kettle were not cleaned the full week we were there so had mold growing in them. The maids do come everyday but this is to just drop loo roll off and make the beds - not clean bedding, not clean towels and not to mop the bathroom floor.
The shower just has a shower head and nothing to fix it to the wall, no bath mat so the floor was constantly wet.
On the flip side, the staff are very friendly - especially Kyros at the pool bar.
There are a lot of facilities - pool, kids pool, pool snack bar, crazy golf, private beach, shop.
There are a few nice bar restaurants across the road from the hotel, the bus to Kos Town or the Therma tops right outside the hotel and s very cheap.
Overall, an ideal base for a Kos holiday but the rooms of the hotel, disappointing.

The Niriides hotel from the outside looks like any other. From the inside, it has the usual nice pool & bars etc.
The rooms are not too bad really. You get a fridge, H/dryer, Kettle, Air/con (chargeable) Maid service 6 days a week..... However, where the Niriides beats the rest of the 2/3* hotels is the staff.
You feel like an old friend that they haven’t seen in a long while. I have never had such a good time with so many helpful hotel staff.
They WILL go out of their way to help you even with language barriers. So friendly and hospitable you feel like you never want to leave.
An excellent team of friends who ensure that you will have a good time, which is the main objective of a holiday I feel.
Thank you Stavros, Kiros, Petros, Amanda & Emerald. See you all soon. Iain & Kasey Jacobson
