I stayed in this hotel for 8 days during 31.07.2010-08.08.2010. It is only the first time in my life being disapointed from a hotel. No hotel is perfect but this has gone too far below for hotel of ~150EUR/night for a double room sea view all-inclusive + Sea view rooms have... more

Newly refurbished for 2005
Great value for food and accommodation If you can eat and drink better, let me know! Slightly remote site but not so much bustle or noise.
Can bus or taxi to other towns. Recommend boat trip to mainland, all day, 20 euros.

first holiday away ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC
Me and my partner had read quite a few reviews that had been quite bad and being out first holiday away with no one else were quite worried only got one thing to say WHY? We had night flights so arrived feeling not so good but the hotel staff were abosolutly amazing they carried my bag to my room which was more like a mini house. Me and my partner asked for the highest room with a see view not realizing that there were a bunch of aprtments above the hotel on the mountain behind :D it was so beautiful the roon was fantastic and the cleaning staff amazing my p.j's were folded on my bed every day as if someone was wearing them. The waiting staff absolutly fantastic teaching us greek as remembering your drink everynight so friendly felt sad to leave them. All though the beach is pebbles still absolutly fantastic and i would adivize to hire a boat if you can to see the surrounding sights absolutly fantastic. The food was incrediable something new everynight so tasty one thing i woud eat would be pitta gyros but would advize to eat in a small tavern outside of the hotel absolutly gorgeous. Not to far away from near towns and only 10 euors to get there. would defanatly go to aqualand SO MUCH FUN!!!! Everyone is also called Spyros. Greeks are mad driving CRAZY yet so friendly . Careful on the road the greeks dont no what slow means utill they step out of the car. Couldnt of asked for more help. Dont worry about the "main" road out the front of the hotel because it's not that busy tfor the greeks it is but to us its more like a country lane with the occasinal car passing every 10 mins. Absolutly fantastic would defantly go again we booked to go with iberostar again next year going to Crete tho Dont worry about what you heard about the hotel its fantastic and all inclusive really is all inclusive.
Oh dear very misleading
We arrived at the hotel to be informed that it was the last business week, the brouchure told us it was end of season end of october. very dissapointed. Very unsuitatable for a family with young children, no information given whatso ever about sheer volume of steps, my son is 19 months old and we had a nightnmare getting around, the pools were like ice cubes location terrible the shop didnt even sell milk. couldnt walk down the street for lack of paths. no locks on inside of room door so kept having my son escape 30 people in hotel for last 3 days. Food was lovely but was a little worried at lack of cleanliness. be advised no good for infirm or children under 5
loved it
this was the last week the hotel was open was very quiet and relaxing food was really nice good choice every meal beach is only a pebble one you do need to buy shoes to accommidate this as you need them to enter the sea and get out again staff were so friendly including the manager good choice of local alcholic drinks at the bar (except if you want international ones which were a bit expensive) good choice of cocktaials we tried them all we are thinking about going back next year round the same time of year all in all a fantastic holiday
Thunderstorms and wasp's
The Regency is a lovely hotel and the staff are all friendly. the food is varied and is cooked and prepared to an ok standard there is allways an option for you to eat whatever your tastes, thanks must go to the reviewer below who mentioned the fact that the reserant manager insised on kissing all female guests as this prepared my betterhalf before we arived at the reserant. the drinks are ok but the white whine is disgusting dont order it. the hotel facilitys are ok but a little basic. the animation (entertainers) team works hard and where allways friendly but where clearly geting board of people saying no all the time. as mentioned in reviews bellow the worst thing about the hotel is the wasps, we did not get stung in are time at the hotel but you could not get food or a drink without being hassled by them. CHECK YOUR DRINKS BEFORE DRINKING THEM THE WASPS HAVE A HABIT OF SWIMING IN THEM.
Nice enough
We stayed at the regency in September and at first we thought that we had really dropped lucky by booking this hotel but after two weeks you can begin to see where there is a lack of money being invested into the hotel. Good Points Reception staff are excellent and very helpful. Food was varied at every meal and they try to cater for everybody Considering it's all inclusive, none of the staff care how much or little you eat and drink, it's very relaxed. The hotel is very clean. Pancakes at 16:00! Not so good points The location is terrible and it’s very hard to walk anywhere as the road is so busy and without pavements and the corfuians drive like complete maniacs. Unfortunately there is not much around and if you do want a bit more entertainment you have to take a taxi to either Beniteses or Moratika. I would recommend the latter. The entertainment is dire. Show Stopper For me the ultimate show stopper was the wasps. I'm not just talking about a few, there are thousands including hornets. They are awful and the hotel did not do much to try to alleviate the problem. Lunch was continually served in the outside 'Taverna' and in the end my boyfriend and I gave up having lunch all together. This hotel should really have switched lunch to the main restaurant which would have solved the issue straight away. Overall very good value for money and if you are on a budget like we were, it not a bad place to be!
Good value hotel.
We stayed here for two weeks in peak season Aug 06, a family of 4 with two children aged 3 and 5. The stay was really lovely compared to many all inclusive hols we have been on. Fantastic weather, great views across to mainland Greece. Right on beach and two lovely pools. Food was varied and good quality. Dress code for dinner in evenings is not very strict but smart ie no bikinis or shorts. Lovely friendly staff, dining manager greets you on entry to the restaurant ready to seat you. We arrived at 5am and the receptionist went into the kitchen and asked the chef to make our children pancakes! Dining area outside but lots of wasps! Entertainment was fair with a few guest entertainers aswell as the animation team. The rooftop evening area was nice and cool but a bit hairy with very young children six stories up but obviously people keep a close eye on children on holiday anyway. Kids club not recommended as had very laid back attitude to staff/children ratio so i would only recommend the kids club for teenagers who can find their own way around as tiny children were not safe enough roaming around beach and pool with one adult. The pebbly beach is accessible by a proper underpass (part of hotel) take some beach shoes, and nice to swim in with pedaloes with life jackets and boats to hire. We hired a motor boat for 95 euros for 3 hours with another couple and went round the coast which was great. We saw a Loggerhead turtle and loads of fish on the trip so take your camera! Our family room had bunk beds which we would have preferred not to have with children so young, but it wasn't a major problem and they coped ok. Shower only which had plenty of hot water, sheets changed regularly, clean towels, balcony with view of sea through trees. The room was a little dated, old drawers etc compared to some of the rooms we saw later when given a room to change in before departure, but i think this was part of the ongoing updating. Our room in 700's was at the very top so very close to the pools. From reception and restaurant on ground floor you need lift to 6th floor then 50m walk to first pool and 2nd snack bar, then a short hilly/steps walk (unsuitable for wheelchairs but you could carry a push chair up if you were feeling fit), to roof pool with a fab barman called Spyros. Children's sandy playground overlooks this pool. great views to mountain side and out to sea. Hire a car from hotel lobby or take bus to Corfu town, 100m walk to bus stop left out of hotel. Corfu town is a small city with many shops, castle, fountain and playgrounds. Or take a taxi for 10 euros to next town to the right of hotel as you come out, which is Moritika for all sorts of late opening shops, bars and restaurants suitable for children. No other resort or attractions within walking distance but most of what you need is here. There is a hotel shop with essentials but not many souvenirs. We needed a doctor during our stay and the hotel phoned us one from Moritika who arrived in 20 minutes, she was very good, spoke excellent English and our insurance covered us and we only had to pay the first 50 euros excess on our policy. Overall a lovely stay with friendly staff and great guests from UK and rest of world.
saved by the regency
Thank god for the Regency. We will never book a last minute again!! Got given the hellhole down the road from the Regency. Only there 4hrs and booked into Regency All inclusive, although they were fully booked on rooms, we managed just about to sleep at the other place. Andreas was wonderful, very professional and has an eye for detail. The staff are fantastic, friendly helpful and extremely polite. The Hotel itself is outstanding, absolutely lovely would highly recc to anyone. Just to relax on beach, and stroll down to eat and drink then relax again was heaven. This is the place we would have expected not the other place....that was pure hell. Thank you to all at the REGENCY.
Fantastic vaations!
After many years i decided to do vacations in my country. I chose Corfu the beautiful Ionian Island. And luckily i chose Louis Iberostar Regency! What a fantastic hotel! Only 12 km from the city of Corfu between a hill and the beautiful clean sea. Using the hotel elevator you can go directly to the beach without crossing the road in front of the hotel. The hotel is a little bit old but it was renovated in 2004 as i learned so everything works perfectly. We had a room in the 5th floor with fantastic view to the sea. The room is big enough and has all the facilities. The bathroom is big and very comfortable. We had booked for half board. The food was perfect. Well cooked and very tasty. Great variety of food too. The breakfast was also perfect. Hotel and food are Best value for money! The hotel is extremly clean and it is amazing that the reception floor which accepts so many people is always shining. But what counts most of all is the people in this hotel. From the last waiter to the hotel General Manager they all show to their visitors what Greek hospitality means. Always friendly willing to help and to solve any problem. They adviced us all the time where to go where to eat what to do in the city, which beaches to visit. Specially the restaurant Manager was the most polite hotel manager that i have seen in all the hotels which i visited. In general my advice is: Visit this hotel! You will never regreat it!
kids and the regency
Have just got back from the regency beach hotel in corfu. Lovely hotel although a bit isolated with the nearest resort 35 minutes away on foot.Could not fault the hotel in terms of cleanliness.Food and drink good and plentiful, lovely clean beach with free sun beds if you could find a free one after 9 in the morning. on the first week of our stay we used the rooftop bar with the entertainment.Okay kids have to be catered for for sure, let them have their mini disco, that is their time . after this between 9.30 and 2400 it should be the adults time but oh no, kids, kids, kids everywhere running amok. The parents had absolutely no control over their offspring whatsoever.also the management had no control over the parents as this could so easily have been nipped in the bud, giving couples such as myself and my partner a bit of time to relax and actually enjoy what was being laid on for the adults primarily not the kids. would we go back again? we dont think so due to too many selfish parents who dont think of anybody else but themselves and their so called little darlings.
my opinion regency beach hotel corfu
we stayed at the regency .to be frank it was a little quite for some people also the entertainment was left really to you.as the night time entertainment was`nt the best although it was`nt that big a deal , it did`nt detract from the overall pleasentness and hospitality shown by the staff.i would say the staff were exceptional in there manner nothing to much trouble, especially the head waiter, always pleasant polite and went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy. the food was plentiful and a wide variety.i would not reccomend it for families with a lot of small children but would for couples who just want to relax.i would finally like to thank the regency for making our holiday a very special one.
