Submitted By: Miss C BennettThe cleaning was not all that. The food was not amazing I was expecting a lot more local specialities from Portugal, like it is famous for its piri piri but nothing like it; it was very much the same every night.
The last 2 days was bad weather so we decided to catch the free bus service which the hotel provided into Albufeira town centre we tried at 9:30 am and 11:00am and could not get a bus until 3:30, as they did have enough to cater or take into account that the guests may want to go out instead of staying in the room all-day.
Overall I rate this survey as a 3* as my opinion.

Submitted By: Mrs S MorrisThe food was lousy, same every night and you had to pay extra to dine in the main restaurant. Rooms were tiny and not up to a 4-star standard.
Ice-lollies, cocktails were not included in the all-inclusive which is disgusting as all-inclusive usually means just that. The entertainment in the evening was virtually non-existent apart from a cd playing on the sound system. The English guests were all complaining.
The alcoholic drinks seemed watered down and not the genuine article. Lager was served in third pint plastic cups. Took ages to get served. Staff unhelpful and surly.
Absolutely disgraceful.

Submitted By: J McLarenThere are two excellent pools, one large the other smaller, both with islands and you can breakfast at both although lunch and dinner are taken at the main building. There is also a heated indoor pool below the main one and the best I've seen so far.
The complex in on its own in the country, with no shops etc near at hand to walk to in the evenings although there are some in-house. It also sits at the top of a cliff with 93 steps down to a magnificent beach with free sunbeds and parasols. We walked along it for 45 minutes one way to Villamoura for a morning and over an hour the other way towards Olhos D'Agua, Great for relaxation in the great weather we had. The sun at this time wasn’t ferocious as it can be earlier and temperatures were in the high 20s.
Food is excellently varied although on the cool side, probably because our table was about 40 metres from the central food collection area so the it was being subjected to a 3mph cooling breeze all the way there I suppose. There are microwaves available, though, to perk it up. Variety is good and on the night there were delicious potatoes in their jackets available we managed to make up mince and tatties and peas! That's got to be a first! You certainly won't starve. There are about 6 or 8 types of ice cream available too and lots of cakes for sweets.
All-inclusive drinks are pretty much the same wherever you go aren’t they? You can pay for normal strength ones if you like but that might be a bit tough on the liver if you consumed the same number!
Staff were always friendly and helpful and very good with kids, from the room staff to reception.
Being at the end of a road there is no passing bus service although there was a bus stop about a quarter of a mile away which we didn't bother finding out about. The free hotel bus runs 4 times per day to Albufeira according to the timetable we were given but we observed it going more often than that, perhaps to transport and/or collect those who couldn't be fitted in first time, it's only a 20 seater. The usual selection of excursions is available as is car hire.
There is a purpose built and well equipped theatre with about 2 metres between rows. Entertainment was on each night we were there and was excellent although only for an hour but at least the open area near the bar was thus quieter and relaxing during this time. There was a half-hearted Karaoke one evening in addition and a parrot show.
There are other activities for kids and adults which are not too intrusive.
Wild life featured a little during our stay with one tiny snake in the undergrowth, two frogs, a small lizard in the dining room and a friendly fox which patrolled the grounds and would approach the dining rooms too to be fed scraps from windows by the waiters for our entertainment.
The only negative point in the holiday came when I jumped in the pool with my wife's digital camera in my pocket, but I can't blame the hotel for that can I?
Oh, and the Germans were really friendly, honestly, no kidding. Would you believe, not a single towel on the sun-loungers at 5am in the morning!!! Mind you, the place was only about one-third full when we were there.
All in all an excellent place for the chill-out holiday we needed and we would definitely return again.

Submitted By: Miss AJ PattersonPositives:
- Rooms are clean and wonderfully air conditioned and serviced.
- The grounds are immaculate.
- The swimming pool has endless loungers and the grassy areas are cleaned often and in great condition.
- The staff, contrary to all reports we have read, are multi-lingual, friendly and helpful (as long as you are to them)
- The hotel offers free buses into town through-out the day.
- The hotel has its own beach, something most hotels on the Algarve can not boast.
- Tour operators run excellent tours with pickup and drop-offs straight outside the hotel.
- The salad and seafood served are fresh and delicious.
- They offer shower rooms and food and drink all day on the day you check out (we checked out at 6pm and still had the all-inclusive part of our trip until we physically left)
- The waiting staff are very efficient and always helpful.
- The food IS endless and the cake/dessert selection is world-class.
Negatives:
- Nighttime entertainment is poor, often only lasting an hour at most. Come 10pm its a bit of a ghost town.
- Do not stay for 14 days! Come 7 days the food was making its way back round to the start of the menu again.
- The meat is cooked in bulk which lead to blandness and lack of presentation.
- The hotel is isolated, so ensure that the beach, pool and bar is as far as you want to venture without booking tours.
- The bar only offers one type of beer and this was weak at best.
- The juice and soft-drink is sub-standard
All up, this is a four-star hotel, but lets itself down a little with the en-masse cooking of main meals and poor quality soft drinks and juice. A 7 day trip here is recommended however and if you have already booked, don’t fear as we loved our 7 day relaxation holiday, spent by the pool, playing mini-golf and organised trips into town.

Advice: Beautiful, welcoming, clean
Activities: The gypsy market was excellent, as was Zoomarine
Good for: Beach
