Mediterranean Beach Hotel Reviews
" Our Family Holiday "
Submitted By: olyian
We stayed again at the Med Beach and had a lovely time. Breakfast was great, huge variety, staff wonderful, so helpful always. Lunch was even better, prices very reasonable. Rooms very clean and hotel generally very clean. Only criticism there are a few bits and bobs that need to be checked, a few missing pool tiles and lights that do not work in the gardens. Apart from that everything A+. Cant wait to book again for next year.
Advice: Its great for everyone, families, couples, older travellers.
Activities: Lysiotiki Souvla. Pizza Mia
Good for: Beach

I have just returned from a great holiday on the island of Cyprus. I stayed at the Med Beach in Limassol, which I booked through expressbookers.com, they had the best rates. The hotel was lovely and the staff very helpful. The rooms were clean and you received pool towels daily. I would recommend this hotel to families who want the perfect getaway.

Booked this holiday travelling as a group of 10 as we were getting married in Limassol and staying at and having reception at the hotel.
On arrival the hotel porters take your luggage to your room for you. We were given room 539, which faces the road and the golden arches hotel. The road was noisy if you had the door open but otherwise noise wasn’t that bad.
One thing though, come 11pm the road, which is dual carriageway, is used as a race track by the boy racers who sit at the lights and screech away. Hats if they even bother to stop at all as I counted many that didn’t.
Hotel itself is lovely. Spotlessly clean and has had a refurb in the last 18 months.
Food is first class both at breakfast and dinner. We chose to stay flexi dine, 11 nights half board. Not much that the kids like though, apart from Italian night when there’s pizza and spaghetti! If you would like chips or ice cream for the kids then ask and you will get! Can say that omelettes are no longer served outside at breakfast but inside with rest of the food.
Swimming pool is split level with a cave on the lower level! Also read some reports before we left those inflatables were not allowed in the pool, which disappointed our 8 yr old, but when we arrived they were everywhere and no sign of any complaints!
The only downside to the hotel was the price of drinks, very expensive! But there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops opposite the hotel. A favourite of ours was Franx. Bus stops are outside the hotel if you wish to go a bit further. Taxis pull up outside the hotel.
Also hired a car as driving here is straight forward, you can’t get lost! The hotel also has its own private section of beach with free sunbeds and parasols. This was our 6th visit to Cyprus but our 1st to Limassol.
We really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful wedding too.

This hotel is brilliant its right next to the beach, rooms are immaculate, grounds are stunning and the hotel itself deserves the 4* Rating. My friend actually commented that the rooms are nicer than the Four Seasons which is the next door.
It is worth paying extra for the sea view otherwise you will be kept awake by the 'boy racers' they go up and down the road outside (which is like a dual carriageway) ALL NIGHT
The only real problem I had with this hotel was the food, breakfast was slightly odd as you had to queue outside for omelettes, fried eggs, waffles etc (this could take up to 30mins) then go inside to get the rest. You can be sure something will be stone cold by the time you get back.
Evening meals are very expensive and I personally didn't think the quality was that good. It is worth going half board though as the hotel is not in the main area so eating out is very limited and most of the restaurants have identical menus!!
If I were to go back to Limassol then I would go back to this hotel, If you want to be in the centre (main tourist area - 10 min drive) then go for the Holiday Inn.

The Mediterranean beach hotel was fab, we went the first two weeks in august and had a great time.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very polite and friendly there was a lifeguard at the pool and staff walked around the grounds to cater for your every need. The pool was wonderful. One pool flowing into another, all your beach towels are provided. There’s a lovely boardwalk at the back of the hotel you can walk along the shore line for miles.
If i went back it would only be b&b. The breakfast were very good the chef outside would cook you fresh, omlettes, fried eggs and waffles there was everything you could want for breakfast. But the evening meal was a total let down.
The meals were very repetitive, more or less the same thing every night from steel bins.
You are far better going out at night to eat, there are plenty of places to eat with far more variety and better value for money. The drinks are also expensive £4.80 a pint! But this is a 4.5 *hotel so its to be expected you can go over the road and get a pint for £1.20 which is a good idea, because the hotel entertainment was awful (an old man with a guitar that couldn't sing!) All in all this was a lovely hotel.
Bad points
Evening meal (eat out)
Location (Limassol, not much there!)
Hairdryer (take your own! Theirs are hopeless!)

" Excellent hotel for Russians and... "

Excellent hotel for Russians and English people without children.
1. Smoking is allowed throughout the hotel.
2. Inflatables are not allowed in the pools, only baby flotation devices.
3. No jumping into the pools, no diving and no snorkels.
Lifeguard on duty from 10:30am until about 6pm, so kids can have fun before he starts work, but after that - the pools are for swimming only - which bores the pants of the kids.
Banana boat rides for 5CYP each is a good way to spend 20 mins or so.
Food was great inside the hotel and outside. Try Mama's for an excellent meal reasonably priced. Go for the local wine and 3 of you can eat 3 courses + drinks for the equivalent of £20 each. A cheap night, and still excellent food can be had at Micheal Place, where they do Sunday roast or cod & chips. Again 3 of you + drinks will cost around £20 total (not each). Nama's, not to be confused with Mama's is quiet but does fantastic food.
Beach outside the hotel is good and the water is a little cooler than the outdoor pools, which don't cool you off enough for me. The Indoor pool takes the heat out of you and is good for an end of day swim before heading off to the room.
We upgraded over the internet to a sea view room at a cost of 10CYP per night because we went in May 2003 as well. It was worth it. We overlooked the 4 seasons pools, out across the bay and the port. Rooms are cleaned every day and very comfortable. We had our 11 years old in with us and no space problems. He slept on the sofa bed 1st night, which wasn't too comfortable, so we spoke to reception and they put a proper bed in the room within a few hours and again plenty of space.
Hire a car and get off to the tourist beach Jn 59 at Larnaca - dekelia road. Great sea, lovely sand. Fasouri water park is well worth a visit as well. If you want a different night out, try Molly Malone's, which is going out of Limassol close to the Hawaii Grand.
Enjoyed the holiday, but as we've been twice now, won't be going back just yet, mainly due to not be able fool around in the pool - such as jumping in/diving in/fetching stuff off the bottom etc.
If you don't have kids and don't mind Russians, then this will be a great hotel for you.

The Mediterranean Beach Hotel will suit all types of people. There is a large two tier pool which offers a great place to cool off from the lovely summer sun. However there is also the beach which is just a 2 second walk down the path. We have been to this hotel many times and couldn't fault it anytime.
Having been many times the staff recognise us which really makes you feel like you have made bond with the hotel. The food is great and through the summer they have a BBQ on the terrace and also offer tables outside to dine. There are also activities which are for all, beit Darts, Archery, water exercises. When you have been to the hotel once, you'll be back time after time!!

We went for our honeymoon and loved every miniute, good hotel for any age, couples or familys. Good service and staff. We took the 7 nights flex-dine which we would do again it means u can eat in the hotel the nights you fancy the menu and go out to the local resturaunts (which there are plenty of) some other nights. All inclusive would have been handy for the drinks which can be quite expensive at the hotel but there is such a big range of things for breakfast you probably wont be hungery at dinner time. I would reconmend you eat at the resturante baco at least one night as the food there is exelent. For trips i would recommend the jeep saffari which is interesting and very entertaining. The catamarang trip was great also. The rooms are spacious (We had a superior room with sea view) and very clean. I would recommend that you spend the bit extra to get a sea or pool view room. The only thing that stops the hotel getting a 10 for me was that the entertainment at night wasn't great but it depends what you like i suppose.
Advice: Nice town with a nice town center and shops
Activities: Jax bar and resturaunt (Right across the road), Amathusia Resturaunt
Good for: Beach
